Our son Ryan lived in the streets of Tacoma Washington for at least three years. It was unbearable, he would show up and pitch tents in our back yard and bring stolen stuff to our home, lost a very good job , his wife and kids .he was shooting up fentanyl, heroin and meth, almost dying a few times. The Lord was there and it’s a long story but he’s in Florence South Carolina at the house of Hope of the pee Dee. He was baptized a few weeks ago and is living for the Lord . He still needs prayer but he’s on the right track.
I’ve been married 35 years to a guy who barely speaks. This generation of married couples seem to need apps and constant validation and “ communication”. Just love and respect each other and keep it moving.
I lost my little sister at age 27 to fentanyl. Addiction doesn’t discriminate and it consumes. So so glad you were able to escape, Josh! Many arent so lucky. You have a strong spirit and a solid foundation with Kristen! ❤
This is so beautiful. Im so proud of you Kristen for standing by your husband through this and praying those prayers over him. Wow. What an example. Very relatable to feel you’re the one spiritually leading your family, and having to struggle with respecting your spouse. Prayer works. So proud of Josh for overcoming this battle. You two are so authentic and real, beautiful marriage and couple. Such an example to your children and others watching. I appreciate the honesty in this video. It’s amazing what the Lord can do. 🤍
I am so proud of Josh! It is no small feat to kick an addiction! Only God can deliver an addict and only God can help a wife be strong and truly love someone through recovery. My former husband is an alcoholic, lost, and homeless as write this. Sadly neither of us were Christians at the time, so I just gave up and had to walk away, as it was starting to affect my health. I pray for the blessings of Abraham for you Josh and Kristen and that our heavenly Father uses you both mightily for His glory!!! Hallelujah Jesus.
I’m floored 😮. Thank you for sharing such a sensitive, private part of y’all’s life with us. Just wow! The pictures at the end just sealed it for me. “Through God every thing is possible”. Gods hand has been over you since the day you both became one. May our good Lord continue to bless you all. ❤ thank you again sincerely.
44 years for my husband and I also...it hasn't always been an easy path, but it has always been a blessed path. Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ, for walking our path with us.
Josh, I would never guess you faced addiction. I love how you said if you take something out of your life you have to fill it with something. Makes a lot of sense Having been through addiction with someone, I know what it does to everyone. It is hard so I applaud Kristen for not giving up on you.
Love hearing about successful marriages as there are so many failed ones, stay the course in bad and good, put in the work and remember the grass can be greener right where you are.
Our stories are so similar. My husband and I have been married 23 years. When I met my husband I had no interest in him but he kept asking me out. We were best friends for several years before we started dating. Soon after we got married our marriage hit a rough spot and proceeded to get worst for several years. Like you I carried our relationship and family. I prayed for my husband. Things started to get better then dip again. As his faith developed and grew our marriage got better and better. I’m so thankful our marriage survived because our relationship is the best it’s ever been and our faith is stronger than ever. Thanks for sharing your story because so many couples can relate. ❤
The photos at the end are so sweet! But I had no idea about this part of your relationship and marriage battles. So many people that don’t believe in God judge Christian faith because they feel as if we live this perfect life but we all are not perfect but I strongly believe we all are given a purpose and the dedication you both have to make it work is so uplifting. God is using your husbands addiction to help those that are calling out for help and God is using you to show that, even in the struggles, you reached out with prayer. We all have a story to tell!
Couldn’t of said it better myself. I used to really get defensive when ppl would say their thoughts about being a Christian. Now I don’t get defensive I pray about it and know that I’m blessed with a forgiving god who loves each and everyone one of us . Just need to open up our hearts ❤️
Wow...I loved this video. It seems more now than ever couples are divorcing over the most ridiculous things. This is proof that if you don't give up on your partner and put in the WORK, you can have a love greater than ever! God Bless you both and Josh's sobriety journey ❤
Thank you for being authentic. I was born in a Christian family and married a Christian man, but we still struggled for the first five years of our marriage. I feel that we also needed to learn how to be selfless. Thank you for sharing your experience!
That was unexpected !! I had no idea of your struggles (how would I ? ! ), but what a glory to God and to all who struggle. Christ provides a way through and out of difficulty. Thank you for your testimony and transparency. Keep up the good work !!
I wish so many couples fighting these struggles could sit and really listen to your story and your hearts. You are a testament to for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health. The faithful will see their just rewards. Bless you both and your sweet girls.
I love to hear you talk too Josh! Praise God you both are where you are today and blessed with 3 beautiful daughters. It seems addictions are happening in even younger kids today and it’s so sad. I pray for all of them and for those dealing with it in marriage. NO marriage is perfect but with God as head of our homes and our salvation through Christ we can go to Him for guidance. ❤
thank you for your transparency. I always love when people share their stories because I know it helps someone else not feel alone in their own struggles. God is the redeemer! All praise to Him.
I respect both of you so much for your honesty and transparency! These are real life issues and it’s so good to learn how you two have navigated through these issues. This video may also be helping someone who is struggling so you are doing a good thing! Can’t wait to see part two❤️
God bless you Josh and Kristen for your honesty and openness. Too many times people cover their struggles and we all have them. I have been married for 43+ years and there were many many hard times but we have persevered. I totally rely on the grace of God. Substance abuse is in our family as well and it has been nothing short of a miracle how God has saved a family member. Continued prayers for the both of you to keep moving forward and living one day at a time. Thank you for this authentic video. God bless each of you!!!
Thank you for your honesty. My husband and I are coming up on 25 years & I can tell you life and marriage is full of ups and downs! You have to both be committed & present. And yes, when one falls the other can carry them temporarily.
Thank you for this video ❤. You two remind me so much of my husband and I . 30 years married ,this May ! In the past year, we have found our way back to church and we’re baptized ( again). I didn’t think our relationship needed anything- now , I see , with God, it can be beautiful ❤.
I'm looking at Josh, he is a grown up Rosie.❤ Thanks for sharing such a personal side of your lives. I'm looking forward to Part 2. God continue to Bless both of you!🙏🙏
Always love when you both hop on together-Josh’s pastoral heart shines thru. Some solid advice about chosing a sober life for yourself and not based on others…but also filling your heart with the things of God. Keep using your platform to point others to Christ. Also loved Kristin your heart on this-that prayer sheet and your commitment. Thanks for being real and vulnerable as always!
Thank you for sharing your wedding pics w/us...what a beautiful couple! Josh is still so handsome and somehow Kristen has gotten even more beautiful through the years. Enjoy your videos. 😍
You are SO BLESSED participating Josh, but yes she is beautiful. It does take a LOT to get thru all the sh*t of life, we can only do this with supportive people and faith. So very glad you did this view of your life. We love you all too.
I just found you today. You both are a testament to God's grace. Kristen, during the lowest point of your life, the vow you made before God - you kept. For better or worse! Thank you for sharing. God's grace is amazing. Josh, thank you for being willing to share your trials with others. We need more men willing to do this and to show that God is truly the Healer.
Thank you for sharing. Our son has struggled with alcohol for years. When Josh said when you take the addiction out there’s a void that you need to feel with something else and his is church and god.
Thank you both for sharing parts of your story! Such a beautiful thing to share - already reading some comments, there are people who are encouraged by it. I’m praising God for the work He has done in you both and for the encouragement you’ll be to others who know you and hear your story. Life is so tough sometimes and we all struggle in different ways. God uses all things to grow us doesn’t he?! My name means “Reborn” and that is what God has done in my life. He makes all things new and redeems. So thankful for His grace. ❤
Love how you are sharing your struggles and being so honest. It is so true that you don't start at the bottom and then everything is up from there. You have up's and down's in life and my favorite quote is The Best Thing To Hold Onto In Life Is Each Other. We will celebrate 47 years of marriage this year and he's still the one.
Thank you both for your transparency! With God all things are possible and bless you for using your life experiences to help reach others who are hurting or going down this same path...sometimes they listen more to sharing Gods word when they know you've been where they are at the moment! You are both a beautiful and Godly example to your little girls!❤️🙏😊
Wow ! I admire you guys so much for sticking it out ! So encouraging! My husband and I are married almost 42 years now and empty nesters, now is when the relationship that we build is really important!
My husband was married before I met him when I was 22 and he was 30. After 38 years together I feel to have married me at 26 and he was 34…I’m sure many thought, “I’d give it a year”. To be 30 when he met me and to try to “commit” to maybe be hurt again??? I feel today, and having a child together, if I was to meet the “first wife”, I would just say, “thank you”, I’m so grateful for everyday we are together!! I love him as much as I did in 1982.🥰
Can i say that Josh is an amazing soul?????? For those that fight demons and need support, I know how special it is to have loved ones around!!!! God bless u both, i am not religious(church wise) but i have a great relationship with God!!! Kristen u and Josh are very special and life isn't easy but marriage is all in and supporting each other.......I am alone in my struggle but my faith is what i rely on...
I'm glad I decided to click this on. I am old enough to be ya'lls parents😊. If you guys were my kids, I would be so proud. People give up on marriage so easy these days or just even relationships when they get hard. You guys took the best steps to get the help you needed. We all struggle with something because we are inperfect people but Jesus Christ came to save us so we can have a happy life depending on Him. Brought tears to my eyes as I watched this. So Happy you guys did not give up!
Thank you so much for sharing what real relationships look like. God is so good! My husband and I have been married for 25 years. The first two were rough. His addictions were tearing us apart. Praise God that my husband heard His voice, and things started to turn around. It was a struggle for a good while, but it's now a part of our testimony, and we've been able to counsel many couples who have walked that same road. So many blessings have come from what could've been the end of our marriage.
What a beautiful video. I know all about this. My stepson went through a long road with alcoholism , he spent a year in a rehab center and through there he found god. We are so proud of him he is doing so well now. He is a totally different person today. Unfortunatly his wife did not stand by him and help him , but looking back now it was for the best, for him. You are both to be commended for staying together and working through all of it. God was looking out for you both and your families. And i must say your wedding pictures are absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing this. 😊❤️🇨🇦
This was so BEAUTIFUL!!!! GOD IS SO GOOD... He has most certainly kept you two through alot and that's just what you decided to share. I pray that His hand stays over this union as together you two are awesome witnesses -apart as well I am sure, but stronger together ;). I will be waiting on part two! Your wedding pictures were so pretty ( and you looked like a model!!) - timeless!!! Funny how our plans are not always God's plans... but His are ALWAYS better anyway. Stay blessed Hoffman's!
Thanks for sharing the more personal side of your lives. It’s a testament to your faith that you could weather all that you’ve been through and come out stronger on the other side. I’ve been married 33 years and have no doubt in my mind that God and faith helped us get this far through so many ups and downs in our marriage. Bless you both and your beautiful family. Loved the wedding photos!
God bless both of you and your sweet little girls. Josh praying for your continued sobriety. You are blessed to have a Godly woman to share your journey. You both are wonderfully created. 😊 16:18
Thank you so much for scaring this. Really, truly. What a testament of love and patience. My husband I have a similar story and I relate to feeling insecure about my affection and love for him being perceived as a coverup or faking our love. It is nothing like that and I realize I owe no one an explanation.
Thank you for your openness and vulnerability and sharing your story. And please never apologize for showing emotion. That is strength beyond measure ❤
I am in recovery for many years now. I think when you said you had to want to do it for yourself, that that was a pivotal point for your long term sobriety. I am happy you knew that. Love this type of video.
Don’t apologize! Wow, what an incredible story. Goes to show you never know what is going on in someone’s life. I know this is gonna make a difference in many ppls lives. Thank you for being so vulnerable. God is good! ❤️
Thank you for sharing such personal information. We never know what goes on behind closed doors. You're both brave, and God definitely has your back. Life is hard, but it makes us stronger. Prayers x
I just saw this video. Ohhhh I didn’t know any of this but I’m so proud of you Josh. And both of you for that matter. I’m glad that you’re moving forward. You can help others with your story about what you went through. You’re an amazing couple and I know that God stands by you ❤️
Thanks for being so honest and open. That was very interesting and inspirational to watch. You have an amazing relationship and it's great to see people sticking together through the bad times as well as enjoying the good ones.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. That takes so much courage but is so meaningful and compelling to those hearing them. The light shines so strongly through you two. May God continue to bless you.
I just recently found your channel. I loved your honesty and your grace. And I love your home and decorating style. I did not know your husband's name or anything about his past (or present, for that matter). When I watched this video, I was very surprised. I now admire your courage! You are an amazing young woman! I also admire your husband for turning his life around. That is a very brave thing he did. God bless you and your family.
Josh, I'm so proud of you! I'm so glad you decided to change for YOU and have been able to stay sober. I would never recommend someone to stay in a relationship because of their vows, though. This is abusive for everyone else living in the home and being co-dependent by staying, is definitely not healthy for everyone else in the home. I have lived this life, married 26 years thinking my husband will change and he hasn't. 2 drunk driving convictions, costing our family 22,000, a terrible example for my daughters, as to what marriage and parenthood looks like, verbal abuse, the cause of stress, anxiety, embarrassment and depression with each child and myself. Living in shame. It's a family illness and I would suggest to anyone going through this in their family, to get help and see where you want to go from here. Their is no shame in drawing a line in the sand and saying, I deserve better. When and if you decide for YOURSELF that you too deserve better, maybe we can rectify things, otherwise I have to save what is left of my family and start doing what is best for me. You have this one life.
This is a beautiful video. I can sense the depth of several things as you two sit and speak together: struggle, love, and faith. And those are the 3 main things in life. You are both beautiful people, inside and out. Continued blessings to you and your family. 🙏❤️
Loved this Q&A… I have been a subscriber for a long time, love your bin hauls, decorating & more but recently your words have spoken to me more about how you & your family live for Jesus. Then seeing this and where you guys have come from makes me more drawn to your content especially being in recovery. My hope is to tell my story one day to maybe help someone still suffering. God Bless you & your family❤
God's strength and your commitment will see you through. Josh, continue to pull His strength to be the man He knows you are. Kristen, continue your commitment to seeing God through your partner. Great video
Thanks for sharing, didn’t know it was going to be so personal. But I’m glad you did talk about it together. Dealing with some things and it really helped to hear a Godly couple’s perspective. Especially what you said Kristen about praying over Josh the way you did with Scripture. Such a beautiful marriage that I’m sure not only blesses others hearing y’all’s story but what a blessing for your children.
Thank you sharing your marriage testimony. New here and going through a marriage struggle currently. Y’all give me hope and ideas of what to continue to pray for my husband. Blessings to you!
What a absolutely beautiful video. Thanks for sharing I felt like I wanted to give Josh a big hug and tell him how proud of him I am that he is clean and found God. Kristen you came through this because of your love for Josh and God❤❤
My grown son has an addiction and I’m beside myself! I know he has to want to get sober! Listening to you is comforting to know there is hope for him! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your hearts so openly. It is awesome to see how the Lord has and is blessing your marriage. Your wedding photos are beautiful! Thank you for sharing them with us!
Whoa, this was so heart tugging, I’ve been married 37 years and we have been some super tough times! I am beyond thankful for my husband, he’s such a wonderful man!!!❤
This may not be possible but if you would be able to provide the words and the verses you prayed it would help me and perhaps others. I have a son who needs this type of specific prayer. I pray ALL the time but what you spoke about spoke to me. If you no longer have this, I understand. It does inspire me to see how God has worked in you lovely family. It truly reminds me of the hope we have in Jesus.
Thank you so much for this… my husband and I have been married 3 years and have had many ups and downs with his substance abuse, this has been so hard for me with growing up with an addict for a father. God has given us so many words that my husband is in a time of forming before he is given his calling, this has given me hope that God will carry us through.
I just want to thank you for your honest transparency and being authentic when it could be so hard to be vulnerable. I don't feel like enough Christian couples to share hard parts of marriage in fear of judgment. However, you are both so helpful in me not feeling alone. My husband and I were not following Christ at the beginning of our marriage. 10 years later, we have children, and I am the spiritual leader, and we are dealing with his substance abuse. But God is still good, and he will carry us when I feel alone. Thanks for your story of hope!💗
This is so special. If you have time, could you possibly share the attributes and verses that you prayed over your husband during this time? Thank you and blessings to you.
Thank you both for doing this video. I really appreciate your honesty. Life isn't always easy and I'm sure when you as a family are dealing with these issues, it's very hard. I think God has worked in my life through the illness and death of our young son. God can draw us near Him though our lowest points in life.
Thank you for sharing. My husband and I have a very similar testimony. Still walking thru it with the Lord’s help. God bless you both and your beautiful family.
TAKES A LOT OF COURAGE TO DISCUSS YOUR PERSONAL ISSUES PAST AND PRESENT AND I ADMIRE YOU BOTH FOR IT EVERYTHING TRULY IS COMING FROM YOUR HEARTS THE MAIN EQUATION IN YOUR MARRIAGE IS GOD HE KNEW ALL ALONG YOU WERE MEANT FOR EACH OTHER AND DID NOT GIVE AN INCH IN SECURING YOUR LIFE TOGETHER FOREVER
Hi Kristen and Josh, as always, thank you for your openness and your transparency in your video. The bravery and strength that you two showed through your willingness to share a difficult chapter in your marriage, is a True Testimony to what The Lord Is Able To Do. The Love that you two have for one another is Absolutely Beautiful. Kristen and Josh, I join with you, and so many others in Thanking The Lord for walking with you, and carrying you through that difficult time in your marriage. I pray in Jesus' Mighty Name for His continued blessings upon you two, and your sweet family. Love In Christ, Paula 🙏🏾💖🙏🏾
I truly love you both. God has blessed you with each other and you have a wonderful family. Thank you for being such an honest and faithful force to people as we all need to be reminded the power of prayer, hope and faith. God bless.
What a courageous video to make. I pray God continues to bless your marriage, and I pray a hedge of protection around you and your marriage as you testify of God’s goodness. Thank you for your testimony.
just a beautiful video and thank you for sharing. I always say "love is grand, love is great, and passion is wonderful"....but you really have to like the person you are with. You really like each other and it shines through. thanks for sharing this.

In a world where it's so easy to walk away it's good to hear that you worked your issues out. May GOD bless you both.

Well said
If there is abuse involved, you should absolutely leave.

Rosie's smile looks JUST like Josh! I love the way you two can communicate.
Oh. Man. God is a God of restoration. Thank you for your transparency. It gives me hope for a family member.🙏🕊️

I hope so!
Soo true “ It’s not what you say, It’s how you say it”. Fair play 👏👏👏
You compliment each other so well. I love the calming and authentic energy you two share with us. 🤍
Yay, thank you!
I'm looking at Josh, he is a grown up Rosie.❤ Thanks for sharing such a personal side of your lives. I'm looking forward to Part 2. God continue to Bless both of you!🙏🙏
Thank you so much!
Thank you guys for being honest. Life is hard but great things come from it.
Ok, in this video I am suddenly seeing how much your oldest daughter looks like daddy. Its so precious

Congratulations!
Praying for you right now
I'm glad I decided to click this on.
God is so good!
Wow Kristin, you were a beautiful bride and you still are. Thanks for letting us get to know Josh.
Thank you so much!
I appreciate that
God bless both of you and your sweet little girls. Josh praying for your continued sobriety. You are blessed to have a Godly woman to share your journey. You both are wonderfully created. 😊 16:18
Thank you so much!
Wow! I had no idea what you have had to deal with. You're both brave to share. Marriage is hard work! 💕
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for scaring this. Really, truly. What a testament of love and patience. My husband I have a similar story and I relate to feeling insecure about my affection and love for him being perceived as a coverup or faking our love. It is nothing like that and I realize I owe no one an explanation.
Thanks for sharing!!
Well said!
Don’t apologize! Wow, what an incredible story. Goes to show you never know what is going on in someone’s life. I know this is gonna make a difference in many ppls lives. Thank you for being so vulnerable. God is good! ❤️
I appreciate this video It is a blessing seeing a couple say they married for life. You just pray and ask God for help
So beautiful, open and inspiring. So many couples need to hear your message.
We have the same name, was my maiden name.
I hope so!
Thank you for sharing such personal information. We never know what goes on behind closed doors. You're both brave, and God definitely has your back. Life is hard, but it makes us stronger. Prayers x
Thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing your experiences. That takes so much courage but is so meaningful and compelling to those hearing them. The light shines so strongly through you two. May God continue to bless you.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
Thankfully, there was never any abuse in our situation. I'm sorry to hear about yours. I am praying for you and your family.
@@KristenHoffman Thank you.
This is a beautiful video. I can sense the depth of several things as you two sit and speak together: struggle, love, and faith. And those are the 3 main things in life. You are both beautiful people, inside and out. Continued blessings to you and your family. 🙏❤️
Thank you so much!
Very impressed by you both. Thank you for being so real and sharing your story. God bless you.
Our pleasure!
Great video
I love your honesty. It’s true Josh had to make his decision for himself. You guys are just an inspiration ❤
I feel like this was a testimony delivered from God for me to hear. Thank you for so much for sharing! God bless you both.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for your raw honesty Kristen and Josh. I hear you and see you! God bless from Australia 🇦🇺
Our pleasure!
Thank you so much!
Our story is very similar, I love that you shared this. ✨
Oh wow!
My grown son has an addiction and I’m beside myself! I know he has to want to get sober! Listening to you is comforting to know there is hope for him! Thank you!
Praying for him in this moment. 🤍
Thank you for sharing your hearts so openly. It is awesome to see how the Lord has and is blessing your marriage. Your wedding photos are beautiful! Thank you for sharing them with us!
Thank you so much!
Whoa, this was so heart tugging, I’ve been married 37 years and we have been some super tough times! I am beyond thankful for my husband, he’s such a wonderful man!!!❤
I have to agree with Josh. He is one lucky man. Kristen you truly are absolutely gorgeous inside and out. I am so happy you found one another ❤
May Gods continue to bless you and your family. Thanks for sharing your testimony. I’m sure it will be a ble
Less to many!
I will try to find it!
Hi Kristin, so proud of you both for putting this all out there. This video is going to help so many people and families! God bless you both!
Thank you so much!
Josh. Proud of you. Breaking addiction is one of the hardest things in life. Kristen … good job fighting for a healthy family.
Beautiful wedding photos. Praise God for how He has kept you by His grace 🙌🏼!
Yes! Thank you!
You and Josh are such an encouragement to so many people on so many levels❤ love you both
Thank you so much for this… my husband and I have been married 3 years and have had many ups and downs with his substance abuse, this has been so hard for me with growing up with an addict for a father.
You are not alone!
This is so special. If you have time, could you possibly share the attributes and verses that you prayed over your husband during this time? Thank you and blessings to you.
Yes I will
@@KristenHoffman ~ Thank you!
Thank you both for doing this video. I really appreciate your honesty. Life isn't always easy and I'm sure when you as a family are dealing with these issues, it's very hard. I think God has worked in my life through the illness and death of our young son. God can draw us near Him though our lowest points in life.
I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m praying for you. 🤍
Thank you for sharing. My husband and I have a very similar testimony. Still walking thru it with the Lord’s help. God bless you both and your beautiful family.
Thanks for sharing!!
Your honesty and transparency are amazing. I am so impressed with Josh and how open he is
I appreciate that!
I truly love you both. God has blessed you with each other and you have a wonderful family. Thank you for being such an honest and faithful force to people as we all need to be reminded the power of prayer, hope and faith. God bless.
OK Kristen, it’s so obvious he loves you. How did you meet? Oh my God you were so blessed.
What a courageous video to make. I pray God continues to bless your marriage, and I pray a hedge of protection around you and your marriage as you testify of God’s goodness. Thank you for your testimony.
I love this. So real and pure. ❤❤❤ I so understand the 16min mark section of the video. Blessings to you guys
just a beautiful video and thank you for sharing. I always say "love is grand, love is great, and passion is wonderful"....but you really have to like the person you are with. You really like each other and it shines through. thanks for sharing this.
Well said!
Thank you both for your transparency. Lord bless you.
