Not sure why anyone would pick this over a pole mount setup, im looking at getting a garmin setup this year, but the only way i would consider this is you would almost have to give it away.
Thanks for the question! You sure can, but you might just need to get creative on how to secure the transducer to the side of the boat. Not saying it can't be done but since one of the main features about this product is it not having a traditional ice pole, you might see the transducer moving when the boat is under way.
Danny I don’t know what you guys at Garmin were thinking ! You can get a lvs32if for just a couple hundred bucks more and a lvs34if for $1k more ! And the major downfalls to this unit is its old tec , you can’t bring it on your boat for summer fishing and you guys still use lead acid batteries !! Not to mention the cringy turn handle……

I really don't think that turning function would work properly on the ice hole...
