    Whoa! I thought the marine climate here in New Zealand was bad but I've not seen rust like that! I've found that a rusty unserviced caliper will make any vibration problem much worse. A caliper that's bound up with rust cannot float over any small variation, this will in turn cause overheating of the pad and jerky operation.

It's not really bad until I get high speeds

      Thank you for watching. It is possibly rear brake rotors are warped. You can verify with a dial indicator.

      I would suggest checking run out of new rotors - I have seen many times new rotors that are warped and cause vibration, If they check ok then check hub assemblies for excessive run out.

    Putting a new disc (rotor) back onto a rusty hub flange like that is asking for trouble.

    Hey man I’ve got a 2004 Infiniti G35 Sedan and I just replaced the rear and front brake pads but after driving it the front driver side shakes like crazy when I’m going about 65+ mph as I touch on the brakes. It gets worse as the speed gets higher. The thing that I’m wondering is that I don’t believe it can be the rotors because before I replaced the front rotors as they started squeaking it never shaked like that. Like the entire car front area of the car is shaking it feels like my entire car is about to fall apart. But anyways, what do you thing could be the cause of this?

    • @trouble3574

      ***because before I replaced the FRONT BRAKE PADS** not rotors

      Hi Matten R,
      Does the vibration occur while you are applying the brakes only? Or does it also vibrate while cruising at 65+ and not applying the brakes?

    • @trouble3574
      @trouble3574 4 роки тому

      U Fix it it’s like barely vibrating you barely feel anything but as soon as you touch on the brakes even if you touch it lightly the car shakes like crazy. I was doing 80 on the Hwy and I touched the brakes lightly and I thought my car was gonna break apart. And if you’re going like 50 and come to a light to stop it feels sluggish like it back and forth movement until it stops completely

      When you are braking from 80 does your steering wheel vibrate or the body of the car in the rear or both?

    • @trouble3574
      @trouble3574 4 роки тому

      U Fix it it’s like the front side of the body and steering wheel and brakes like you can really feel it. It’s a very strong and bad vibration. You can feel it coming from the front of the car mainly on the driver side

    At times it can be the hub.

    Could it be that the guy did not properly prep the calipers and new pads?

      Yes, it is possible. Did he replace or machine (turn) the rotors?

    Ok my rotors were/are fine... I changed my pads and this is when the shake started... now what?

    • @ufixit6806

      Yee Thirty
      Since the vibration in the steering wheel at high speeds has started to occur after installing new pads you should look at the pad fitting. If they are aftermarket the metal backing plate that engages into the holder assembly may cause the pads to bind and apply the pad face unevenly on the surface of the rotor and overheat the rotor and or pads. If not done already look at the caliper slides to be certain they are clean, lubricated and moving freely.

      Hi David, just to clarify are you getting a vibration in your steering wheel while applying the brakes coming off of the highway?

    • @DavidRamos-fl6dk
      @DavidRamos-fl6dk 4 роки тому

      U Fix it Thank you for responding back yes but the funny thing is The vibration is not felt on the steering wheel just on the vehicle does this make sense to you it’s more like a shimmering feeling on the vehicle it’s hard to explain it do you only way to tell what it is that I’m feeling you would have to drive this car and I’ve had many people test drive it and they felt it but they can’t figure it out I’m starting to think it’s got something to do with the ABS brake system

    • @ufixit6806
      @ufixit6806  4 роки тому +1

      David Ramos
      Hi David,
      What kind of car do you have?
      The vibration that you are feeling is it occurring while braking and slowing down from 45 mph or higher? Do you feel the vibration from the front or rear of the car? Usually if the front rotors are warped you will get the vibration in the steering wheel. If the rear rotors ( if you have rear disc brakes) are warped then the vibration will seem to. One from the body of the car and / or the rear. If you are experiencing ABS malfunction then the brake pedal will pulsate and sink down lower than normal as you are applying the pedal and the ABS light may come on. Did you do anything to the rear brakes? You mentioned you replaced tires? If you have a tire that is out of balance you would get a vibration while just driving at highway speeds and not applying the brakes.
      Hope this helps you.

      U Fix it it’s a 2009 Ford Flex all-wheel-drive limited I replace all the rotors and all the brakes first with aftermarket then I replaced it with original parts from Ford the tires are brand new and saw the rims the Perelli‘s and the rims are American racing rims I do not get pulsing on the petal and don’t have any lights on indicating it’s the ABS but the only thing if I have to stop in an emergency for some reason the ABS brakes done pulse like they should maybe on this vehicle it’s meant that to I’ve had it since brand new on the first owner and it had 0 miles

      U Fix it It’s a 2009 Ford flex and yes I replace the rotors and brakes in the back twice first went after markets and then with the original parts from Ford don’t know if it makes sense but after driving at high speeds for a while then the brakes are applied that’s when it seems to start and then again I also feel it after running over a few pot holes The Frustrating thing is the next day when you drive the vehicle it goes away until you go high speeds again or hit some potholes I’m at my wits starting to give up if it wasn’t because I only have 61,000 miles on it and I kept it that it looks like it just came out of the dealership I would get rid of it

      Possible rust, dirt, debris, corrosion buildup between hub/rotor or rotor/ inside wheel. I have also encountered when lug nuts are reinstalled if they are over- torqued that can warp the rotors or hub assembly. You would have to measure the warping or run out by performing a dial indicator test/ measurement.
