Stunning. When Scott was on his game no one in modern music could touch him. The Pearl Jam comparisons were foolish. Scott had far, far more depth than Vedder and the DeLeo's are truly excellent musicians. They could rock hard or slow things way down.

Yeah, though I love Pearl Jam's first few albums more than STP, I have to say STP take them in terms of consistency of songwriting throughout their careers.
Cody Wilson I love almost all of Pearl Jam, some albums grew on me, but I think they're One of those bands with amazing bonus material, the lost dogs album Is great, Some of their best tracks like wash, alone, I think Pearl Jam had a Solid 5 albums in a row to start, then binaural riot act and avocado were good but not on par with others, I actually quite like a good amount of the recent Stuff as well
Chalk it up to taste. Pearl Jam has always been solid, but I feel like after their third album they kinda forfeited their "it" factor. Their songs became less memorable(imo), Vedder started to really subdue the primal side of his voice that a lot of people really dug, and their writing and production got a little...dryer and less energetic as well. Nothing is wrong with that for a lot of their fans. Pearl Jam set the bar so high in their early days I'm not surprised they didn't maintain it for more than a few albums. I still like stuff from all those albums you mentioned, but imo the deeper STP got into their career the more eccentric and unique a lot of their ideas became. The melodies, the chord progressions, Scott's lyrics and vocal tone, the production, etc.

When we were first together, when we were first falling in love. He once sang it to me, under the stars. Now, all these years later, Scott is gone, and so is my marriage. There were two days in my life where I literally played this song all day long. Over and over. The day I got divorced. And the day Scott passed away. And both days I cried almost the whole time. I still love them both, even though neither of them are still here. And when I die, I will have this song played at my funeral. My ex will know it was my way of saying good bye to him one last time. I love the way that Scott could change up his voice, depending on the song. It could go from gritty for the hard rock stuff to old school kinda crooning and soft for a song like this. Love the versatility not only of his voice but STP's music in general. That's one of the biggest things that made me start loving them only a few months ago!
My Mount Rushmore of the 90’s will always be Eddie, Scott, Layne, Maynard, and Chris. Yes that’s five but music and their contributions are bigger than everything.
It's hard to explain, and I have literally tens of thousands of songs and videos under my memory belt, but there is some special something about this song that keeps me coming back for more....more of a yearning than a hunger...
I hear Jim Morrison, David Bowie with star look ups into the sky like Freddy Mercury, Scott Weiman, represents so much in this song, it's like watching all the previous 40 years of rock n roll legends in one person come out in one song. This song runs deep in the chronicles of legendary RNR.
here i am again, watching him sing this unreal performance of Atlanta, wishing things turned out differently. those violins at the end---yikes brilliantly done.
Take this song, (which to me has a bit of a doors- love street vibe), big bang baby, sex type thing, and so much more and if you weren't familiar with stp you would think you were listening to three or more completely different bands. Versatility would best describe stp in a word I think, their ability to change their sound so superbly time and again makes them even more impressive than Bowie imo. I love the run Bowie had from 69-83, but he did utilize about 5 or more different guitarists along with a plethora of other musicians to do it. Stp kept the same line up for those 6 or 7 studio albums with Scott. I listen to core thru shangri- and all are entirely different and excellent
You comfort us Scott....even if your candle has blown out....miss u so very much....but we all will keep your candle lit....through the millions that love u... u alive...forever...so much love to everyone....keep em alive! Keep rocking!!!!
STP represented a new way of listening to modern rock music. the vocals of Scott Weiland melded Jim Morrison's wail and the Beatlesque harmonies intact. RIP.

this is pure musical brilliance scott you are missed
When he died, I definitely lost a part of me.
@Rem Dusad same
Same
I don’t know how old are you, or how many years you were his fan, when he passed away i was just 19 and i had same feeling friend...
R.I.P Scott💔
Rebel You have outstanding taste.
I was 18, I believe. First celebrity death as an adult that truly affected me. I'd loved Scott and STP since I was 10 or 11. Hope he found some peace.
My Mount Rushmore of the 90’s will always be Eddie, Scott, Layne, Maynard, and Chris. Yes that’s five but music and their contributions are bigger than everything.
Love, love this song. RIP Scott ❤
It's hard to explain, and I have literally tens of thousands of songs and videos under my memory belt, but there is some special something about this song that keeps me coming back for more....more of a yearning than a hunger...
Favorite live performance of any song ever
This is such a beautiful yet haunting song. I miss Scott so much.
Tragically beautiful :(
What a beautiful song. Thanks for being a huge part of my teenage years. RIP Scott.
I miss you sooo much Scott 😭😭😭
This song makes my heart feel heavy. Truly a hidden epic jem.
Beautiful, simply breathtaking. Thank you for all of the amazing music. Rest now, Mr. Weiland.
Love his voice
I have since 1991...
Such a gorgeous song
Brings tears to my eyes
here i am again, watching him sing this unreal performance of Atlanta, wishing things turned out differently. those violins at the end---yikes brilliantly done.
Unbelievable live performance for sure. And the whistling at the end just gets me in the feels.
Damn he looks so sad.... Such a powerful and moving voice.
Starlight Weaver You lose so much weight fast doing tar, Tragic , so hard to beat. Listen to wake up, mad seasons.
Was fortunate enough to see STP and Velvet Revolver a few different times. Scott was always great live. This is one of my favorite STP songs.
You comfort us Scott....even if your candle has blown out....miss u so very much....but we all will keep your candle lit....through the millions that love u... u alive...forever...so much love to everyone....keep em alive! Keep rocking!!!!
I agree!
One of my all time personal favourite rock bands...
Mozart would be proud.
Indeed, he is.
this deserves millions of views, just wonderful
STP represented a new way of listening to modern rock music. the vocals of Scott Weiland melded Jim Morrison's wail and the Beatlesque harmonies intact. RIP.
One of the greatest and most underrated frontmen from the era.
Yes sir, the greatest in my opinion.
Such an awesome band! I grew up listening to them, and will until I die. Miss you Scott! Thanks for so many amazing songs and memories! R.I.P. brother.
Happy 52nd Bday in Heaven Scott. I miss you terribly.
This is definitely one of my favorites and this is a killer version. Robert is such a great bassist. The whole band was so freakin talented.
I’ve listened to so many versions of this over the last couple of weeks and you’re right
He walks in the sun to me.....voz de baunilha😗🤩
Still listening, it was a depressing day, so he makes me feel better. My favorite song
Such talent! These guys really killed it in the 90’s
Honestly some of the best songs ever.
it's the minnie guitar solo and when Robert hits the base... and Scott starts singing... chills me every time! so perfect
Stunning visual lyrics.
Phenomenal performance
