      @JimmyX Wolvie this was my 1st & 2nd nephews song in their generation that they used to get down to in the clubs. At Christmas 2 years ago we played it & the two boys and myself of course with shufflin and shuffln all over the kitchen! My mother who is 91 at the time was cracking up! Btw I was in my EARLY 50s but I also absolutely loved this song since it came out! I listen to every genre of music and you got to admit this song kicks ass! There is something so wrong inside of you as a person IF YOU DON'T get up and dance to this song.

    There's a group based in Brighton, U.K., called The Go! Team, that combines samples and real instruments. They've been around since the early 2000's I think, and they have a unique sound with many retro influences. Much of their music is available on UA-cam. I'd like to mention "Doing It Right" (I first heard this in a Mitsubishi commercial I think), "Ladyflash", and "The Power Is On" for starters. They have many more good material.

    I’m embarrassed to say I have never heard this song before. I had to Google it to find out that it was released in 2011. Even worse, I had to Google ‘LMFAO’ (laugh my freaking arse off)!!
    On a positive note, I really enjoyed the song. It’s not often a song resonates so strongly on a first listen. This must have been a monster hit. It’s extremely catchy. I loved the bass drop at 3:33! Another example of the music video being the perfect match for the song. If I throw a big party anytime soon, this song is going straight on the mix-tape! 😀
    I agree with you Cash, the song was fabulous. Thanks for a great introduction to LMFAO.

      It's not "freaking" of course - it's actually the Danish (Viking) import into England during the 8th century, known as the 'f-bomb' in the USA, and was regarded as vulgar in Saxon England because it was a Danish word and not because of it's meaning. It was only while watching a Danish/Swedish drama 'Bron|Broen' (The Bridge) that I learned the f-word is used at the dinner table in front of the kids in Denmark. I've also seen a UK radio station interview on UA-cam with Kim Bodnia (Danish actor starring in The Bridge) drop the f-bomb live on air and the poor DJ had to apologise to his Anglo-Saxon audience for Kim's language. Kim was mortified, but it didn't damage his career in UK TV because he got a part in a BBC production called Killing Eve.

      @@davemac1197 Really interesting Dave. I had no idea of the Danish (Viking) connection. I just watched the radio interview. Very funny, the producer in the booth is cracking up when Kim is talking very colorfully! I'll have to look out for The Bridge. Cheers Dave

      @@jono1167 - the Danish Vikings occupied East Anglia in the 8th Century in exchange for not attacking Wessex - this is dramatised in the History Channel series Vikings, which I thoroughly recommend. The Bridge is for my money the best of the Scandinavian crime dramas that have done very well here in the UK, starting with The Killing, which is another popular one you may hear about. I don't think they have gained much of a foothold in the USA, where they tend to buy a licence to make their own version because there's a prejudice that Americans don't like watching subtitled foreign language shows, so there is an American Bridge based on the crossing between Texas and Mexico at El Paso/Juárez. There's even a UK version called The Tunnel (using the Channel rail tunnel), but I haven't seen either of these. Make sure you check out the original Danish/Swedish version starring Sofia Helin and Kim Bodnia. Sofia's Swedish cop is a bit... unusual, in that she is on the autism spectrum, but a brilliant detective. You have to see the end of Season 4 to find out how she came to be driving a classic 1977 Porsche 911. It's a really great series and the best part of it is the developing relationship between the two leads - you'll love both of them for it.

      @@davemac1197 Thanks for that info Dave. Like a lot of people, I'm a big fan of Vikings. The Scandinavian crime dramas are brilliant too. I have read a couple of Stieg Larsson books and I saw the Swedish version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo which was superior. I'll look out for the Danish/Swedish version of The Bridge. It sounds like there is a lot of chemistry between the leads. Thanks for the tip Dave

    • @davemac1197
      @davemac1197 3 роки тому +1

      @@jono1167 - Cheers Jonathan. We seem to be on the same wavelength with Vikings and I'm also the proud owner of the original Swedish boxset of the Millennium trilogy (Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, etc). I also read David Lagercrantz's sequel The Girl In The Spider's Web (following the death of Stieg Larson) and recently seen the film version on TV with Claire Foy in the lead role, which is framed as a sequel to the American version of Dragon Tattoo with Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig. I'm a bit ambivalent about the American versions, and it's really unfortunate that Michael Nykvist passed in 1998.
      I have no doubt you will love The Bridge. When you hit the wall (end of Season 4 and the whole series), you can steady up with the original version of Those Who Kill (Den Som Draeber), another Danish series that stars Laura Bach that only ran for one season of 5 x 2-part episodes and a movie finale. There is a second season which has a new cast as a reboot, but I would seek out the Laura Bach version. Cheers.

    OMG, that was so FUBAR I was not LMFAO and I just CWFITBO. You'll Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Parties (Jona Lewie, 1978) will always be my party anthem. FYI, the reason you'll always find me in the kitchen at parties, apart from the higher standard of conversation, is because that's where the food and drink are usually located, and I have an empty glass now and need a refill. Cheers!
