I love seeing the parkour and climbing worlds collide! I'd love to see more of Toby teaching the Wide Boyz or even the Bobats how to do parkour movements.
Discovered climbing through Toby being in your cellar, loving that you're doing more work with him. Wide Boyz knocking it out the park with the collab videos.
Nice! Always great to see you guys converting Toby into a crack climber. Also, having seen him run over tubes from one building to another it's really funny to see him having trust issues with the cams :)! Not for long I guess. Soon he'll whip big just for fun!
The movement sports community is the best sporting community on the internet. Change my mind. Toby doing MULTIPLE videos to give attention to a cool channel that people like me (casual storror fans that are too old to get into PK but respect it as our generation’s skateboarding) Earned a sub! Stoked to watch more of y’all’s content
I laighed aloud at 4:16 "A little forehead dab midway, I didn't know that was allowed" cutting to Toby leaning forward to gently place his forehead on the rock
We went there recently. Did you know they filmed parts of the Princess Bride up there? (only the greatest film ever made). I re-enacted the main fight scene with Andre the Giant with my one year old, think we pulled it off well.
Nice video Toby is great. Tom needs to trust the force (grip of hand on rock ) I'm guessing he'd get it in one or two more goes. Nice reaction to first finger lock "you hang off that" ! 😀 For the al gorithem.
This is actually my strength, I would spend days as a kid on the beach, which had boulders, running from one to the other, jumping on them. I never fell and got hurt. And now, at 55, we moved back to a beach area, which has large boulders, and I just resumed it, remembering the techniques I learned as a kid. Climbing up that sandstone wouldn't be a problem.
I know this is stupidly ambitious but because of the history of bouldering it makes sense to bring toby to Fontainebleau to do some of the circuits. I think he will be completely in his element there. Combining climbing and parkour
If that cam was a 1, some of my placements are clearly in the decimals. Used the knot of my prussik the other day, Czech-style. Amazed I'm able to type…
Physical question: why is it advised to have as much rubber on the stone as possible? Since friction depends not only on area but also on pressure, which is inversely proportional to area, shouldn't it be irrelevant how much area of your feet actually is on the stone? The less area, the greater the pressure on the bit of area that's there, isn't it so?
The mechanics of the force acting on the angle of the slope change this, the force is going downwards, not into the slope so pressure is negated by a rate of the angle of the slope?
I agree with your statement and have thought about this a lot before. The more force you apply normal to the surface the less chance you have of slipping (weighted foot never slips). So I think in this case the more surface area you put on the rock the more force you can apply
As a former and retired trad-only climber (as opposed to a climbing gym wannabe) I love it that this dude-o-roni did it. Trad climbers rule, and free soloists are gods without peer.
A tad late, 9 months later but .... When walking down a slab the weight belongs on the balls of the feet, not the heels. This is where you bring in the consultant xc skier. Love your show.
@@WideBoyz I was intending to go to Cratcliffe yesterday and ended up at Stanage plantation. I think I would've preferred somewhere a bit quieter like Cratcliffe.
Great collab but sad to see it cut short. Maybe the next time you meet up with Toby you can do another video with some sort of big outdoor challenge...
Wow the camera editing doesn't make this anymore exciting. Very dry, If Toby wasn't involved there is no way would have watched it all the way through.
What a terribly unsafe title. There's clickbait and there's reckless endangerment, this is the latter. You can see my comment history, you know I'm a fan.
sorry you think this. We didn't consider anything we did in this video to put Toby in danger, and our challenge to him (next video), was a very safe route with many bomber placements. Each placement was also monitored by us (hanging next to him) as he climbed :)
@@WideBoyz yeah, it's the title, not the content. Lots of folks looking for videos on learning trad, the idea that learning it fast is good, or that it's possible to learn enough to be safe on their own in 90 minutes is absurd
You're overreacting. It's not like the title is "Here's How YOU Can Learn to Trad Climb in 90 Minutes." Instead, it's a challenge video specifically around Toby Segar, who is world renowned in world of parkour. Who has trained with the Wide Boyz before (as mentioned in this very video). And who already is fairy experienced indoor boulderer. The idea that any video title on its own is dangerous is pretty laughable really. If that's all it takes for someone to 'recklessly endanger' themselves, then it's probably not the video title that's the problem.
Such a good day 🙌🏻 Curious to see if I look as scared as I felt on the final route 😂
toby is leveling up his parkour game you will see that in the futur project
The rubber joke went over his head, but I. I laughed. Good one.
kinda want to see a storror bouldering video where the whole group climbs for the day.
bob 🙌
Those shoes are like magic :o

we have some more things lined up for the spring...
@@WideBoyz love to hear it! get more storrors involved too if you can haha
Tom trying to do the wall spin was great entertainment, and Toby is such a cool dude. Looking forward to the next video and the big project!
Toby helped me out with a dynamic move in the climbing gym the other week. Truly is a master of his craft and a top bloke.
Yesss you guys leveled up the series from last time, love these ones with Toby
thanks. yes always good having toby on for some shenanigans. he's a quick learner of this stuff!!
Tom trying the wall spin was comedy gold. Good on him for giving it a good bash
tobeys humor at 0:44 clever lad that was a good one.

What a trio. So many good laughs had
This content is sick, how has it taken me so long to find you guys!
Toby-Wide Boys cross over is always good fun 🤙
Looking forward to the next one
I love that Toby is back! Great video!
Always good to see Toby.
Great editing on this video just noticed all the nice annotations and angles that you include
6:58 when you escape rehab:
Toby has some freaking balls of steel to be doing this kind of stuff. I'd crap my freaking pants.
Awesome, I can see how all of these skills will really enhance his parkour.
Back in the jumps Stoke days, at the roaches on the edge of the Peak District. 2004/5 onwards.
Brilliant collaboration again.
So funny seeing his disbelief at the cam actually holding him because I remember having the exact same feeling when I was just learning to trad climb.
i climbed robin hood's stride all the time as a kid, great to see toby having a blast out there!!
Great to see Toby again, looking forward to the big challenge ☺️
I can’t wait for part two ! Great attitude like always guys ✌️✌️
Toby is such a rad dude.
you can spot how good a climber is by how many coats he has on
loving this idea for a video
Such a cool collab. love storror and just started watching you guys"
welcome back Toby!
Been climbing for years but I always watch these vids to see you guys laugh at goofy elementary jokes
Amazing seeing the storror x WB crossovers. Great videos.
very good very nice
loved the metal gear solid editing lol

What you explained is the most basic expression of friction force.
@@ssalerto Yes, so what is this basic model missing that would apply here?
The mechanics of the force acting on the angle of the slope change this, the force is going downwards, not into the slope so pressure is negated by a rate of the angle of the slope?
That's why Prof. Tom said dont lean back when descending.

Offwidth, trad, handjam. Science.
I want to learn from you guys😭 would be great
Where was these grit stones at? Loving the parkour elements.

Be interesting to see how easy Toby would find deliverance but the running method

Nice no-hands-whale, Pete!
is pete wearing enough jackets
i always wondered why parkour types didn't use crash pads and shoes with better rubber
forehead beta has never failed me
forehead and knees is the only way in all climbing
Have you thought about getting Johnny Dawes to advise?
What you have to appreciate about Tom is his almost total lack of general athleticism, he's just pure crack climbing machine.

great stuff, but don't know how you guys can put your bare hands in those cracks, but ig thats cause of the auzzie wildlife,
