I'm really digging the memes being added Matt!! 😂 That rear window looked like it was a chore to get out. The 4x4 swap is gunna be pretty sweet though, and I'm glad you already have the axles. Take care, have fun and happy wrenching 🔧🔩
Hey Matt, Love your videos! I went the Battle Born Brake route and yes, it’s a bit more but I don’t have the project stockpile to pull from like you buddy. I am currently finishing a 1971 F100 Heavy Duty Special XLT Ranger that I have a few videos posted on UA-cam. It is a 4x4 conversion using Battle Born’s lower kit so it’s not so high and the radius arms aren’t so noticeable. The wheels I’m going with are 18x9’s with 5.75 backspacing. They don’t stick out much but they do some. What wheels are you going with that you mentioned in the video? The 1979 F250 Crewcab I’m doing is Battle Born as well but will be 4 link up front but you’re right, costs lots more. But, I wanted to have the clearance and the crewcab will be my personal vehicle I keep. The 1971 F100 HD Special will be on Bring-a-Trailer soon. Good luck and thank you for your videos!
Hey I get it! If I didn't already have the rebuilt snowfighter here I would probably be going that route. I will go more into the wheel set up when I get everything in for my crew project and verify it works. Its quite a bit more than just a wheel combo so its pretty in-depth.
Awesome build Matt. Im thinking of doing the battle borne kit on a 77 supercab, after seeing this im wondering your thoughts on putting the front and rear off of a 79 f250 under the supercab. I already have the 79 as a parts truck. Any idea on if that would work?
cant wait to see the progress on this one!! I have been wanting to do a Godzilla swap on my 79 350 but depending on how easy you make this look i might do it to my 72 Highboy
What is the width of a 1970 2wd f250 dana 60, a 10.25" sterling and a 2005+ super duty front dana 60? I am just collecting parts to do a conversion as well. I dont have access to a sno-fighter unfortunately, im likely going the battleborn route. Using the 10.25 sterling i can keep the bolt pattern. Original dana 60 is limited for limited slip options etc. Only lockers which i dont want. Any advise is great appreciated
The 1970 Dana 60 and the 10.25 sterling are going to be quite a bit narrower than the superduty 60. The superduty 60 is around 75" and I believe the 10.25 is around 69" and the rear 2wd 60 is even narrower than that I believe. The sterling 10.25 is a great option and there are disk brake conversions for it. Another good options is a 1975 up dana 70 that will be 35 spline and should have limited slip options. I have one of those in my Ultimate Highboy with a Dana powr-lok diff and are very happy with it. But you are always going to have the issue with the rear being to narrow. You could run spacers but I never like that idea. If you check out my latest video I convert a newer sterling 10.5 to 8x6.5 so the widths match the front. I hope this helps.
This one is going to be a sweet truck
Love what you do. Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
I absolutely love old Fords!

is that lunar green???? would love to see it fixed up in that colour!
No it’s a custom metallic green, I’m leaning towards holly green but not sure yet.

Some paint colors I think will look really good on this truck is black, lunar green, Bahama blue or Harbor blue.
🤠
What happend to the 7.3 powerstroke mustang?
