Understanding is key, but sometimes a little patience and a good sense of humor can save the day too!

I believe everything starts in the home. If we learn good habits, then we practice them in public when we’re not thinking about what we’re doing.
I grew up in the 70s, so you could say I raised myself. And it was very important to teach my kids to know how to act in public and at home.

This is very true! I am grateful my parents taught me etiquette, manners, and respect. We ate dinner together as a family around the table for every breakfast and dinner when I was a kid. The older I got, the more I realized how rare this programming was in many homes. The bottom line is that we can teach ourselves what we did not learn as kids. We are responsible for knowing who we are and teaching others how to treat us.
