I did find a PDF of the Instructions on bricklink.
Though they weren't easy to use on a mobile device and had some real issues, they were 1000 time better then the app instruction which I would label as unusable.
    Great video! Keep it up!

9:40 there is a way to keep the gate up, the lever right in front of the guard is to stop it from falling if the modified plate is used as a stop on the winch handle

So, looking at the minifigure choices... I think the Forestmen are fixing to retake their castle from the Black Falcons. For starters, as you noted the Black Falcons seem out of place. Additionally, the peasants seem to be well armed and acting with subterfuge. Thus I am led to think that peasants are actually the disguised Forestmen, waiting for the right time to retake the castle!

I don't have this set, but for the 3 in 1 creator castle I have a minifigure hold the door crank, it does have a lever that's supposed to hold it but it's pretty loose, plus I think having a guard work the door is just fun

I love the look of this set. I'm not crazy about the non-PDF digital instructions, though; generally, I love digital instructions, but I much prefer PDF. I missed out on this set; actually, hearing about this set was how I found out about BrickLink. I'm in the process of building my own Black Falcons army and castle MOC around a core of 8 (yes, that's eight) 3-in-1 castle sets and two blacksmith sets. I don't know if it's worth it to me to try to get this set after-market with how much it's already increased in value, but I'll see what the upcoming 90th anniversary set looks like.

Lego owns bricklink now, so lego is using bricklink as a way to sell lego ideas sets that were not picked by lego. They only can use current pieces unfortunately, and any decals are stickers. But is very cool

This is an official set. It’s set number is 910001. Lego sold it on their website last July and only produced 10,000 copies. The design was done by a fan with the some help from Lego designers to make sure it used parts that are still available and was stable enough. It’s part of the BrickLink Designer Program line.

I own this set, I am a huge fan of the Forestmen theme and was a bit disappointed because the minifigures don't resemble the forestmen style and because of the stickers but overall I am very satisfied. I would say it doesn't worth the 400-500 dollars and if you have the chance, get all the pieces and build it yourself. You wont spend that much money on it this way🙏

I had to make some color substitutions here and there on some bricks, but that's what I just did. It's more than this set cost had I been able to buy it when it was available, but it was quite a bit cheaper than paying the scalper prices. And you can now get actual forestmen bodies and printed elk shields too, so I'm happy to have those!

I had planned on doing black trees too! But there were a couple of parts that just weren’t available in black, and I wanted to stick with the build as it was (for the most part, I still chanted the trees a bit), so I just did brown tree trunks.

Honestly not the biggest fan. It's really flimsy overall. I added some attachments that lock in the sides so it doesn't just flap around when you barely move it.
There's a lot of small build complaints about it as well, usually lego idea sets are cleaned up by lego themselves.

  • @___David__
    @___David__ 2 роки тому +2

I got mine last year since I managed to pre-order it when it came out.
    But I haven't build it.
Why? Precisely because it lacks proper instructions and I LOATHE digital instructions. Even in pdf format, I won't accept it. I don't like the experience of having to have a computer near me when building LEGO, much less a smartphone.
I didn't know it wouldn't bring instructions when I purchased. But after I found out, it was enough for me to completely dismiss any further BDP sets. Specially as these sets are already overpriced to begin with.
And no, I sure as hell am not going to spend 160€ to print them. I'm not paying more to print instructions than I paid for the set.
At this point, I will likely just hold unto it. And if some day I should need (hopefully not), I'll just resell it.

If you own the original sets that the Castle in the Forest is based on (River Fortress 6077, Camouflaged Outpost 6066 and Forestmen's Hideout 6054), there is really no point in getting this updated version that doesn't even come with any classic forestmen minifigures.

It would have been really great if Lego would have made these sets. They could have made EXACTLY the same sets as back in 1988/1989 but with 2-3 times the pieces / far more details. The kids would have LOVED it. I mean, Lego even made 1-2 sets as a free giveaway in their online store. The knew it could be done. Too late now anyway. China stole this idea and people are buying at ridiculous prices. RIP, Lego.
