TM2 as a kid was the perfect storm of action, comedy and (for it's time) gameplay with its genre. The AI and physics can seriously mess with players but with time, patience and practice, you can get used to the physics (there's no adjusting to Mr. Slam and Mr. Grim's freeze spam though). I hope by the time you're done with the playthrough's you'll at least appreciate the game a bit more for what it is.
Also for the Dark Tooth pagoda trick, you're supposed to be in the little space between the red walls. He can't hit you at all there but he'll keep moving back and forth in that area which makes the fight take way longer. Can't wait for the Grasshopper playthrough btw, I made you do it once and you're doing it again lol.
The best aesthetic Shadow in the series because of how long he is. Basically the Pimp Hearse.
CPU Shadow's Special is different because it doesn't have an actual explosion radius. They just made the hitbox larger than the visual to give the illusion of an explosion radius. How they made the CPU player actually do 180 slide turns around corners and basically dump on you was neat and badass when he isn't just rear fire spamming.
The same incline/decline trick can be done to anything airborne so ramming them does the same thing if you suicide bomb them. Basically makes Grasshopper completely useless. I wouldn't try to enjoy this game if you really don't like it or try to get really good because this game doesn't get any easier since it's programmed to read button input and the bots have a "dynamic adjustment" quirk in them.
Where can I find a library of useless TM2 information like the one you're pulling these facts from? I'm desperate to get in the weeds with this game's data, I played as a child and want to understand what was actually happening behind the feel of the game.
@@ThePhysicsGun I used to be the record holder for all vehicles in this game on Hard Difficulty and have played it an unholy amount so it's really just based on playing and observing.

@@mr.bp-dcbg holy shit!!! I wouldn't even know where to begin and I'm sure you have lots to do outside of monitor UA-cam threads. I guess firstly, what is technically going on with Axel's ramming potential? I always heard it described as a "secret special weapon" but that was never satisfying to me, it never felt intentional.

Axel pretty much has a Hammerhead built in special that has unlimited use, although the slight difference is that you're more prone to "bounce back" after ramming which allows you to repeatedly ram tap enemies to death. He's essentially the best vehicle to speedrun this game because of how useful that is.
It seems intentional and that code might just be a left over remnant from the development team.

Best car in the game excluding the ramming from Minion and Axel. Shadow is so good I got the record when I first uploaded my Shadow hard playthrough when I wasn’t trying to be fast.
I am a gigantic fan of TM2 and very much welcome dissenting opinions (hence im gonna keep watching this series lol). I really wanna understand how someone can not enjoy this game yet think fondly of its successor. I feel like the BS this game throws at you is right in line with every other game in the series. Hell, i feel like it's less bullshit because CPUs dont intentionally seek health kits.
It’s weird how when AI shadow hits you with his special he pushes you backward kinda like a ricochet, but when the player uses the special the opponents bounce up in the air kinda like a remote bomb
Revisiting tm2 today I understand why it's not your favorite. If you grew up with this game when it was released the nostalgia it brings hits really hard. Like others have said, I think it's the best in terms of story, art direction and fleshing out a world.
So I think Shadow’s special was suppose to do 15 or even 20 damage on direct impact. With the incline exploit or anytime they are even a bit of the ground it does 45 damage. Remote bombs also work like this by doing 45 damage on inclines as well.
i love this design of Shadow, but for some reason to me, playing as him felt ok, could just be a Me thing, but he looks mega busted when others use him tho

Shadow it's the first character that I'm beat this game His special is Amazing can do extra damage on enemies who flying or on a slope, also You can shield yourself and use special on any opponent in close range In desperate situation.

Yeah, Shadow's special is definitely OP, it causes as much damage as Mr.Grimm's, difference being it regenerates way too fast and in addition, you can hurt multiple enemies.
Nevertheless you should still be careful. Just because you (practically) have the best SP.attack doesn't mean guaranteed victory, after all if you are careless you can hurt yourself

Nick, I would like to apologize for giving you grief about not liking this game. I honestly havent played TM2 in a couple years and finally bought it on ps4 and working on getting all the achievements. I honestly like it a little less now lmao

TM1 and TM2 are good games but they are very difficult in the gameplay. The fan love is the universe and characters. Maybe the gameplay is a bit overrated but it fits the madness of the universe. I think that the massive love is that improves TM1 in every aspec except gameplay. I would say that 1 and 2 are the least fun I have PLAYING Twisted Metal but the stories are good.

Also TM2 was my very first video game Ever at 4 years old~ so ya some slight bias there maybe possibly 😜😂😂
I don't understand your hate for TM2. I prefer it way above Black, as the version of Black I have is missing all of the story and endings, making it overpriced and pointless to complete more than once and once was painful enough. Played TM2 to death in the day in co-op mode with a friend; most fun I've had in a PS1 game. Hint: Hold down machine gun and press up, down, up, up on D-pad for Minion special.
I just noticed something. In his ending Shadow drives through a sign that says Calypso vs 1st Claas. What is 1st Claas?
