I feel like it's one of those games you had to grow up with to know about it It was part of my childhood and everyone who didn't have that same experience never heard of it
Yep. I played it as a kid and it kinda faded from my mind till my late teens. Its like a natural phenomenon how many people have had the same situation
I-Ninja is super great and really fun, most bosses (if i remember right) have a different gameplay style that is usually pretty damn fun ranges from mecha boxing and submarine shooter though i never got far enough to see all of them. There's one mission that never fails to get me mega tilted, its in the second area of the game and you have to keep an explosive barrel alive through a whole zone to blow up a cage at the end. Not sure if it was required to progress or not but it took me a good 2 weeks when i was a babychild. Loving these one-off's and though I'm pretty sure this will be one of them I'd be ecstatic to see more of I-ninja. Also! I'd suggest taking a look at the ghost rider game, despite vague memory of there being an old sbf video I'd love to see that get featured here, motorcycle sections and bosses being normal enemies later on is pretty rad.
Yeah, no. Fuck that mission. It was actually really annoying, ESPECIALLY on the repeat mission if I remember correctly. It's still a fun game. But some missions are just ugh.
I never liked this style, but now I'm old and nostalgic for it. There was this cancelled halo mega blocks game that was pretty cartoony, maybe halo infinite will go that direction
FelpHero Just saying, when you’re trying to “educate” someone about the apparent huge amount of cartoony games there are, maybe you should name more than 8
I-Ninja is my JAM, and I'm glad people are noticing this game too. Me and my uncle used to play this a lot, and it was worth every slash and cuts the Ninja inflicted to his enemies.
This game was one of the best games on the ps2 I hope they do a remake of the game someday Only a few people know about it and it deserves more recognition
Out of all of the West in our Pantheon, Billy is the second higher-up, behind Adam, and me, i'm pretty freakin' LOW lol Man, this plays and feels like a combination of Psychonauts, Sonic, Ratchet & Clank, and something from mid 2000's Newgrounds.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT!! This game is crazy “video gamey”, but super satisfying with good progression. It’s textbook solid enjoyable game with really good, weighty mechanics.
Aww yes, I loved this game...worked hard for those belt upgrades. Oh yes, I finally remembered it's name...Whiplash. The game about animal test subjects wreaking havok.
This game is criminally unknown. Sure it's a slash-em-up but I found this in a BARGAIN BIN and it has so much damn character it's like I'm playing a classic Japanese ninja movie. Or it's like a kid game with actual difficulty, like you said. It's basic game play with such wonderful character!
Holy shit, I never thought I'd see this played by any of the people I watch! I-Ninja does hold a place in my heart for being one of the first games I actively tried to git gud at. There are some parts that aren't the best nowadays, but I still recommend it. Fun fact: This game was made by Argonaut, the people behind the original Star Fox.
Samurai Warrior Musashi is a very basic game but it evolves the more you play it. The art is fantastic and the soundtrack is unbelievable. Give it another look.
I remembered this game weeks ago and have been looking for it ever since. Told my friend about it, no one has ever heard of it. I barely remember anything about the game other than my brother and I loved it when we were kids. Glad this video was uploaded, was starting to think it was a Mandela effect that only effected me lol
I borrowed this from a friend when I was like six. Someone put it in the box with all our other games when we moved about a week later, so I still have it.
Hey Matt! The Musashi game for the ps2 was very solid. The graphics were cool and cel shaded and it had a good gameplay loop, you learn new skills by observing enemies while fighting them. It holds up pretty ok I guess!
Yoooo this is some nostalgia i remember 100%-ing this game i also remember the ending was pretty bad and the egg head mission which was just the kayza fight but you died in one hit while he had full health.
8 years. I played this in like 2006 and it resurged as a vague memory 8 years ago. Nobody ive spoken to remember it.. Only managed to remember the name thanks to a helpful person on discord. Glad it wasn't some kinda fever dream
Finally! Like you I used to rent this game from blockbuster loads as a kid and recently re-bought it and played it to 100% completion. Pretty good platformer/ hack 'n' slash hybrid, but I've never seen anyone talk about it.
Omg I found it! I borrowed this from a friend in elementary school like 18 years ago, couldn't remember the name and then BOOM right there in my recommendations!
Ohh shit, I remember this one! Or don't I? I feel it was such a strange trip, I don't remember much, but I think this game gets pretty crazy hard and just plain crazy later on. Thanks for dredging this bizarre jogo up from my memories, Mr. McMuscles. _Wait, I have this game???_
Please play Samurai Warrior Mushashi. I don't remember how good the combat was, but I do remember that you could permanently gain abilities from every enemy you fight and I always thought that was cool. Other major things were the off theme surf coaster music that always played and the campy voice acting
I remember playing this on a PS2 demo disk and then getting it used at gamestop years later. Really fun game, although I do remember having to play levels multiple times over to make progress got really tiring after a while.
holy FUCK. i played this on the xbox ages ago when i was a little child and I had very vague memories of it. I couldn't remember what it was called for the life of me and now here it is god bless.
Me and my siblings played this game so damn much when we had the original XBox, and we loved every second of it. Please, PLEASE play Jet Set Radio Future to complete my childhood!
I loved this game. Funny enough, I don’t think there was a lot of marketing for this game. The only reason I knew about it was because I got a demo for the game at Gamestop. I really like how the game looks and it is a bit sad we didn’t get more games like this.
Yooo! This game pops up in my memory at complete random every few months and I always wonder, “wtf happened to that game and why the absolute fuck did I just randomly stop playing it as a kid?!” I know I didn’t beat it… at least I don’t remember beating it. But I DO remember it was like my second year of being a proud ps2 owner (the year prior the ps2 itself bundled with an atv game and the OG ratchet and clank were my entire Christmas present… with the glorious addition of Budokai 1.) and that second Christmas with a ps2 was of course going to involve hella games. But I distinctly remember experiencing I Ninja via a demo (disc or as extra content on another namco game… I don’t remember which.) and immediately fell in love with its premise. A jak and daxter/ratchet and clank/Mario/etc. platformer revolving around a badass crude comedic ninja?! I was in! So I added it to the list of games I wanted for Christmas that year and actually got it! But the sad part is… I barely remember ANYTHING about my time at playing it and cannot for the life of me figure out how or why I woulda just abandoned such a lovely little game so easily! There’s so many elements to it that I know for a fact were things I would have loved! And still do! Man… it just makes me wanna buy a refurbished ps2 and hunt this game down
I know that feeling at somepoint a few years back i had that same feeling and scoured the internet for a copy and i found one sketchy 'mega link' cant link you to that but i did download it ill see if i can put it on a google drive
I've got a story on this one. So back in the days before YT, when I was still a kid mind you, this company called Hype Council approached me to post reviews of a game in return for a free copy. Where? My bloody Yahoo group of all places. This is one of the games they sent me, and is literally the only reason why I know it exists. I think the best thing I ever got from them was Time Crisis 2 with the GunCon.
Sheesh, calm down Ninja guy! You almost make Sonic look like he's on Xanax! Seriously though, this game looks kinda neat, almost makes me wanna try it out someday.
I have talked about this game to people on length, and no one, not a single soul has heard of it. Thank god I'm not insane and it is real
I fucking loved this game me and my cousin used to play all the time when we we're kids on game cube
You. Are. Not. Alone.
this is fire
I played the crap out out of this game when I was younger. I recently got it on my pc and played. Just as much fun I remember.
I might have to buy it again tbh lol
I love this game I always try and tell people about it, but nobody has ever heard of it. So I’m glad to see someone talking about it
Fact. Played this in my childhood with a friend, had a blast, yet literally no one else seems to know this game ever existed.
I feel like it's one of those games you had to grow up with to know about it
It was part of my childhood and everyone who didn't have that same experience never heard of it
Same
Yep. I played it as a kid and it kinda faded from my mind till my late teens. Its like a natural phenomenon how many people have had the same situation
If I remember correctly, Ninja says 'I-Ninja!' when he activates invincibility, which is why the game's called I-Ninja (Invincible Ninja.)
I wanna say it actually refers to Iron Ninja? I think I remember reading that in the manual that came with the game
I assumed it was based on I, Robot.
I fondly remember this game and I not so fondly remember it kicking my ass on certain levels.
I remember that Don Bluth (yes, THAT Don Bluth) was the cinematics director for this game.
This game is sadly underrated and probably one of the greatest games i've played (even though i never finished it lol)
Oh now that's enough childhood nostalgia to make a man moist for vengeance
This game was really ahead of its time in variety of level-design and creativity tbh. i’m so glad i’m not the only person who knows about this game 😂
Was just playing this yesterday. Holds up really well, and the sound track is surprisingly good.
This game looks fun, it’s like a hack and slash as a ninja.
This game required so much precision on the harder repeat missions if you were going for 100%.
I feel like someone is going to randomly make a UA-cam video about you one day if it hasn’t happened already
Damn even the no mustache guy is here lmao
The most unsubtle ninja ever.
Naruto would like to have a word with you.

Grade in cage.
Omg that’s Michael Bell, who did Raziel, and billy west.
Why can’t games look like this anymore. I want more weird cartoon-y games on modern systems
I never liked this style, but now I'm old and nostalgic for it. There was this cancelled halo mega blocks game that was pretty cartoony, maybe halo infinite will go that direction
FelpHero Congratulations, you named 8 whole games
FelpHero Just saying, when you’re trying to “educate” someone about the apparent huge amount of cartoony games there are, maybe you should name more than 8
I-Ninja is my JAM, and I'm glad people are noticing this game too.
Me and my uncle used to play this a lot, and it was worth every slash and cuts the Ninja inflicted to his enemies.
Thank you kindly for doing my favorite niche hack n slash, honestly thought everyone forgot about this jem!
My mom got this for my GameCube and the giant mecha boss fight kicked my ASS
This game was one of the best games on the ps2
I hope they do a remake of the game someday
Only a few people know about it and it deserves more recognition
I always assumed that it was, "I-Ninja," in the same vein as, "I, Robot." :P
If you're here searching for this game. You're one of the Greats💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Out of all of the West in our Pantheon, Billy is the second higher-up, behind Adam, and me, i'm pretty freakin' LOW lol

Matt: "You've got to have great hips to be a ninja."
Me: "Secret ninja lesson number one: Ninja hips don't lie."
genuinely one of the greatest games ever made
Samurai Jack: The Shadow of Aku, for the Gamecube. - That's my reccomendation for you Matt.
YES
Holy shit, I never thought I'd see this played by any of the people I watch! I-Ninja does hold a place in my heart for being one of the first games I actively tried to git gud at. There are some parts that aren't the best nowadays, but I still recommend it.
Fun fact: This game was made by Argonaut, the people behind the original Star Fox.
Absolutely loved this game as a kid went back to play it a couple years ago and still had a blast with it
I fucking loved this game as a kid, holy shit. Glad to see based on the comments that I wasn't alone!
Dude i love you! I always hoped that some yt reviewer would have done something with this game and NOBODY knows about it!
#1 childhood game
I loved this game so much. Don't think I've ever met anyone in real-life whose ever even heard of it.
I’ve been trying to remember the name of this game forever. One of my favorites as a kid.
I completely forgot about this game but just seeing the character brought everything back. I remember having a bunch of fun as a kid with this.
God I remember playing this as a kid, I loved it so much
I can't believe it I used to play the demo over and over when I was a kid this is awesome! I totally had forgotten about this game!
I remember playing a PS2 demo disc with this game on it. I spent HOURS on the 20-30 minutes of gameplay. Never could find a proper copy afterwards.
One of the most enjoyable games I’ve ever played. Please remaster or remake in 4k or make a badass sequel
My childhood friend's dad bought this for me at an E.B. Games when they were in the US, and I loved it. This game brings back memories.
This game had a respectable cast they had billy west from futurama and they had the composers from wipEout on the ost
I loved this game growing up. About time it gets some recognition
Samurai Warrior Musashi is a very basic game but it evolves the more you play it. The art is fantastic and the soundtrack is unbelievable. Give it another look.
omg i completely forgot about that game! I am getting into emulators because of my steam deck. thanks for reminding me of it
Imagine if this dude was in Smash
I remembered this game weeks ago and have been looking for it ever since. Told my friend about it, no one has ever heard of it. I barely remember anything about the game other than my brother and I loved it when we were kids. Glad this video was uploaded, was starting to think it was a Mandela effect that only effected me lol

This game was a giant part of my childhood, but its criminally unheard of lol, just got myself a sealed copy of it haha
I loved this game growing up, I even had the guide.
Yoooo this is some nostalgia i remember 100%-ing this game i also remember the ending was pretty bad and the egg head mission which was just the kayza fight but you died in one hit while he had full health.

One of my favourite games of all time as a kid!
"your grasp of the obvious is astounding" is bars
Omg I found it! I borrowed this from a friend in elementary school like 18 years ago, couldn't remember the name and then BOOM right there in my recommendations!
When I was a kid, my uncle showed me this game one time when I was bored. Fond memories!
YES! I have waited for you to play this!!
I miss this game so bad. I beat it twice. It was one of my favorite ps2 games. I wish they would do an HD rerelease
Ahhh....2003, when in order for a game about NINJAS to be published it needed grinding rails and half-pipes. I sure am glad that era is over!
Man this needs a re - release on modern consoles, I adore this game
My childhood!!!! Man I miss this game
Why tf didn’t this game have a part 2?
Ohh shit, I remember this one! Or don't I? I feel it was such a strange trip, I don't remember much, but I think this game gets pretty crazy hard and just plain crazy later on. Thanks for dredging this bizarre jogo up from my memories, Mr. McMuscles.
_Wait, I have this game???_
YOOOO
AND SEE THAT ROBOT IN THE THUMBNAIL PREVIEW, LEMME HAVE IT MATT MAN
(this game is my nostalgia encapsulated)
I-Ninja is such a brutal game, in terms of difficulty. Some of the extra missions are really down to the millisecond.
I played this game on my old ps2. Still have the game and console… might go play it again
Please play Samurai Warrior Mushashi. I don't remember how good the combat was, but I do remember that you could permanently gain abilities from every enemy you fight and I always thought that was cool. Other major things were the off theme surf coaster music that always played and the campy voice acting
Brave Fencer Musashi* and yeah it's a cool game
@@TerrorOfTalos Brave fencer is the PS1 game. The PS2 game is called Musashi: Samurai Legend. So I guess we're both wrong on that one
@@malikbeat Ah, I almost completely forgot about the sequel lol
I too confused this game with mini ninjas. Also for some reason I confuse mini ninjas and boom blox, which I confuse with battle block theater
I remember playing this on a PS2 demo disk and then getting it used at gamestop years later. Really fun game, although I do remember having to play levels multiple times over to make progress got really tiring after a while.

The last time i looked up gameplay for this i could only find one walktrough that only had the first area done
I loved this game. Funny enough, I don’t think there was a lot of marketing for this game.
The only reason I knew about it was because I got a demo for the game at Gamestop.
I really like how the game looks and it is a bit sad we didn’t get more games like this.
Bro this is my favorite PS2 game alongside kingdom hearts and GTA San Andreas
I beat this game but it sure was way more difficult than i thought it'd be. What a good video game.
Yes! This game was awesome! Took me forever to beat to 100% because of the friggin turret level, but fun all the way around.
Quite possibly my favorite game of all time. This shit was my religion back then as a kid for me
I ninja was a sweet game back on ps2
The I stands for iron in the manual it says "become the iron ninja"
I remember the commercial for this, something about "not having to be tall in order to reach a butt in order to kick it".
Always loved this game
I thought this game only existed in my imagination. What I would give to be able to play it on current gen systems
I remember playing this back at my dads house. No one ever remembers it when I talk about it.
It's on PC so you can always show that
I played this game a lot when i was little kid
I'm got this game when I was 8 and it is still fun
Miss the PS2 era of I-Ninja, Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank!
Oh this brings back good memories
Battlefront Dogs life and I-Ninja was my childhood in a nutshell
Yas, I fucking loved this game as a kid.
Gotta love those Robert Hamburger references
Holy cow. I loved the absolute hell out of this game.
"thats a pretty cool robot, ill tell you that for free"
Man your whole video is free.
im just realizing filling your meter, you can activate your special. I NEVER KNEW I PLAYED THE GAME WITHOUT ACTIVATING IT ONCE 💀
Yooo! This game pops up in my memory at complete random every few months and I always wonder, “wtf happened to that game and why the absolute fuck did I just randomly stop playing it as a kid?!” I know I didn’t beat it… at least I don’t remember beating it. found the installer :D

I loved this game man. Fond memories 😂
I loved Samurai Legend Musashi as a kid, but I haven't replayed it since then so I couldn't tell ya' how it holds up.
Sheesh, calm down Ninja guy! You almost make Sonic look like he's on Xanax!
Seriously though, this game looks kinda neat, almost makes me wanna try it out someday.
I think it's just funny that Billy west is the actual ninja
This game was amazing (still is) and I'm still bummed that they scrapped the sequel
