Unlike some of the creatures in berserk, you could probably talk your way out of a confrontation with a witch.
Pagan means non-abramamic bumpkin. This means the norse lore, the egyptian pantheon, helenistic gods and goddesses of greece and rome, and even the native american mythology. The astral world in berserk is clearly the otherworld of the celtic lore. The witchcraft you were thinking of is Wicca which is younger than the united states and heavily steeped in the pagan celtic heathenism but altogether fundamentally different. I recomend the four branches of the Mabinogion if you would like to know more about what berserk is drawing from.

Oh God, that's really depressing and makes way too much sense.
I whould argue that Farnese was able to easily learn magic not because she had stunded emotional development, but because all her previous beliefs about world were debunked. Farnese's personality was mostly centered around faith, so when she lost said faith it's like her entire worldview had shattered. Everything that she believed in was a lie. It's basically like becoming a kid in unfamiliar world once again and having to relearn everything from scratch.

Well, the thing is magic spells have many different categories. Incantations will require you to gather energy and say a chant or phrase, cantrips require a small amount of energy and an idea or effect, rituals are required to be done ahead of time because the casting time increases with the increase in effectiveness, and sorcery is tricky because you essentially manipulate the flow of energy directly either to empower yourself or into an attack towards an opponent which is often compared to playing a string instrument. I have been speaking mostly in Dungeons & Dragons terms so bare that in mind.

What do you think about the idea that Guts and his team feels indestructible and you know beforehand that they are going to win which is present in later arcs? Also, what are your thoughts on manga overall becoming less and leas brutal near the end? Yes , mages ,wizards, sorcerers , can be a huge headache to apostles. Just Daiba himself and his machinations and magic built the behelit machine and made demon soldiers the Dahaka, also he made the pishka animal soldiers and also augmented the powers of Ganishka. I am hoping Daiba will teach magic to rickert.

I would but that field is so misunderstood that a simple comment wouldn't suffice.
It spans tens of thousands of years, yet also remains modern and in everyday people use, and I mean, everyday people, no matter which faith, as long as they speak Germanic languages.
You can be the most devout Christian, but I would wager that you'd use more heathen vernacular than Christian.
And i'm not talking about silly stuff like "halloween" or "birthdays", but everyday words, including pertaining to humanity itself.
(Human words having a tree and plant affinity for example, from roots, to seeds, to fruitful/fertile, to drives (although that one is more obvious in German, (Drive to do something) Trieb -> A shoot of a plant ) etc.
I'm sure if Christians read this, or even just sceptics, they will balk, but that is, again, because I simply cannot use a youtube comment to convey the sheer depth of it all.
But I will say that wicca, at the very least, is new age hogwash and should be disregarded completely. Asatru isn't much better, but it's certainly lower on the garbage scale.

Depends what you would consider witchcraft. Wiccans are considered witches and would consider themselves such but have only been around for half a century. Some would call Santeria witchcraft even though its worship of the Orishas and a santero might slap you for it hes just worshipping some of the oldest Gods in human history. Witchcraft was always just a label for practices you dont understand. There are the solitary practitioners of Magic as well, some with darker intentions. I do not practice Magick but I study use in spiritual and religious rites to better understand its nature and influence on the world. I've seen beyond the shroud of death and into the unworldly nature of magic. Its tangible in small ways but not typically to the lay person. Magick has a long history in our world. From Shinto and Buddhism and other practices from the East, Ifa and other African Religions, Islam, Christianity, Judaism, The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Satanists, Wiccans. Its bloodline is very much alive but diluted. The idea of Wicca is to try and practice it in its purest and unadultarated form. But with a feminist lean. I'm no Aleister Crowley great beast or anything but it's really quite fascinating. I've considered talking to a Santeria Preist and divining if the Orishas are a part of my path. One day I will be a big strong magic user like Sheirke.
Wiccans believe in a God and Goddess btw but as godheads more often than single dieties like in Abrahamic practices. (There are many denominations of Wicca with different ideas on that.)
