The idea of a Behelet feeling “squishy,” skeeves me out for some reason
this meat necklace.. yeah its kinda eery
the screaming meat necklace fits right into berserk
Yeah I'm imagining squeezing one would have an overall feel like that of a well washed potato but like you can't break it if you queeze too hard and like maybe more fleshy.
Angry meatball.
It’s a stress ball!
Skull Knight really took a look at this dimension altering monstrosity and said "yeah I can make a sword out of these"
"Nom nom nom"
Honestly I would do the same with any dimensional altering things
That's thinking outside of the box; if you have a dimension altering esoteric shenanigans why not weaponize it
One of the most terrifying item in all of fiction
All of fiction? 😳
Have you ever watched _"Hellraiser?"_ 😁
@@edwardgaines6561 I never said it is most the terrifying
For whatever reason looking at this item makes me soooooooo uncomfortable.
Nice huh?

When Griffith's behelit was hit by an arrow, it was chipped, so i don't think it is indestructible. Also, you forgot to mention the man-made behelit that Ganishka made (an episode on that guy would be interesting)
@Mosaab
that mustache alone is godly
I would like to point out that is described as “squishy” or somewhat malleable. Likely that little dent was like pushing down on a memory foam mattress.
@@FumblsTheSniper ik its a bit late but probably indestrucible. Fate guarantees that the behelit gets to its user even if its destroyed, it probably repairs itself or something like that.
@@asd-mp5ks or a new one gets made
@@asd-mp5ks there is no fate in berserk. Causality is something very different
I don't think you could destroy a Behelit if you are part of causality. Like Griffith, the arrow will mysteriously miss. The nuke will fail to detonate. Or the Behelit will never appear to you.
How do you mean you cannot destroy it if part of causality? I agreed with the rest of your comment but anyone can be part of causality. The non canon chapter explains this and void admits they aren’t omniscient so the thread of fate (slug king part quote , the thread can be BROKEN or the arrow of cause and effect ended prematurely. The god of evil in the deep realm is not able to control everything or force anything per se. I do agree tho about the bomb malfunctioning or even prematurely exploding.
That and the arrow example both pre suppose war or violence is occurring. This alone should allow the opportunity for evil acts to take place he even more frequent which allows more behelets and “dominoes of potential evil”
What happens if Guts emerges from Elfheim to find 216 years have passed?
This comment needs to be put to the top

Rickert would be dead and i dont think that will happen without him meeting Gutts 1 last time
@@nohead5502 Nah. He could find Rykert the apostle. Or a statue of Rykert holding the ultimate dragon slayer or something.
Guts takes a boat back to the mainland only to realize the story ended without him XD
I never expected to hear the words Chad Thundercock on a Berserk video
En7vy no one expects Chad until it’s too late 😔
lol where did u hear it from

Behelit is definitely one of the most unique and interesting aspects of berserk.
Taking notes as I'm going to make a berserk inspired D&D campaign. I'm the only one that reads berserk, but I want to sneakily introduce them to it.
That would be so amazing, just make sure you prep your players for replacement characters, lol
Pre or post eclipse?
@@knight_lautrec_of_carim I'm still deciding on that, but at first I was thinking about having a two part campaign, where the first part would be pre- eclipse and the second part being post-eclipse. It's still in it's early stages, so it's still prone to change.
@@FatFoot_the_King I would be a horrible person if I didn't prepare them for the suffering lmao. We are going to have a session zero where we'll discuss these sorts of things.
Put The Schnoz in it.
Without any explanation, have this little goblin-like creature that's 95% feet and nose keep showing up in the most unexpected places. He doesn't do or say anything, he's just *there.* Always.
Just imagine if the tower of conviction arc got an anime, Griffith’s rebirth would of been something to behold and the egg apostle would of been on creepy little thing, just a shame there was never an anime past the 90s and the films only retold the first bits, yep it’s so sad there was never another piece of animated berserk media beyond the films and 90s anime, especially ones that did the equivalent of taking Michelangelo’s David and covering it in whipped cream and human poo and claiming it’s improved
Thee AfroGamer I know right, I mean a series where each panel is a master piece in its own right and the volume cover paintings belong in a museum, why would anyone think of making that in CGI and even worse letting a director and company that has never used CGI be the ones to make it? Thank goodness that never happened though
Hollowhammer thank you kind sir
I'm just pissed there wasn't a Berserk game for the SNES, back in the 90s. 🎮
Yea I agree, I wish they would continue the anime but sadly we've seen nothing past the movies
The guy that made the castlevania show on Netflix, has stated that he's interested in producing a properly made berserk show
Much like how it's theorized that what gives femto his power, once resurrected into the physical world, is the power people imbue him with (e.g. their beliefs that he is a savior), the behelit is just a rock, nothing more, but in their owner's desperation they are imbued with the ability to bring them to the godhand.
if you have a behilit dont worry at all only worry when your "best friend " has it
Monster summed up in a couple words:
“ The egg has finally chosen you.....AAAAA”
Isn't only Griffith's behelit called "the egg of the king"? In the manga it's referred to in that way as if it's a particularly special behelit, which makes a lot of sense given how grand griffith's wish is.
yeah it's special for the god hand
That special behelit activates only 216 years and transforms you into a godhand. The other can activate whenever and transform you into an apostle.
he is the lucky one
@Guy Dude thats the point though, it was never about the castle itself. Its about ambition, some people are just like that, hes effectively some jesus analogue/world emperor now.
The god hand and several characters even say so themselves, that guy over there will never stop wanting more and when push comes to shove his grandiose ideas come before anything else.
Remember the staircase of corpses part during the eclipse, the godhand refer to him as the king of longing
And we get the whole character breakdown of griffith with symbolism, just a few more corpses and the journey is worth it, just a few more steps and you get to the castle, but he never gets to the castle in that dream.
Crimson Bechi
The cause is the desire for a reason for suffering, the effect or answer is the idea of evil itself.
So the logical opposite could have an effect, a desire for a reason for joy could produce the idea of benevolence :D
@@samtheweebo Yeh that's theoretically possible, but for that to happen there would have to be an overwhelming amount of joy already in the world, to the point where people start to wonder why. And let's not forget people are far more likely to question why bad things are happening to them and ignore or take for granted the good things.
It's kind of ironic that humans, by causing war, suffering and despair have created a god that will unleash that suffering upon them tenfold just so they can have a reason for it.
@@SirMcAwesome You are right. It would take almost everyone changing their mindset drastically to do that so it likely wouldn't happen in the story, but it is interesting to think about and does leave an opening for a possible way to defeat or imped the whole idea of evil and the godhand.
@@SirMcAwesomeas chaos gods from Warhammer because innate to their nature
Glad you noted the Behelit is probably inspired from the Lament Configuration in Hellraiser. I was about to comment that myself.
Even if I was at my lowest point, I would never go anywhere near a Behelit. If I become an apostle, I am damning not only my closest loved one to an eternity of suffering in the Vortex of Souls, but also ultimately myself. Every apostle, including Zodd, Grunbeld, Irvine, and the rest, are all doomed to the same eternal fate when their time comes.
Tbf if u don’t accept don’t u all die anyway so if it was me and I activated a beheilt by accident if it’s a normal beheilt KILL ME if it’s a crimson 😈
Sweeet!! So many cool artifacts and items in Berserk. I’ve been playing Demons Souls a lot again lately, I seriously love Fromsoftware’s type of storytelling and they pull so much inspiration from Berserk
Bloodborne does it as well though that one takes mostly from other cosmic horror series but berserk is definitely in there. I played the fromsoftware game series before reading berserk. Its great going through another playthrough and noticing them
@@sv32099 bloodborne takes mostly from hp lovecraft works the old hunter dlc is heavily inspired by shadows over innsmouth but demons souls and the dark souls game are heavily inspired by beserk
I wonder if the behelit is like a test for humans by the idea of evil. It seems Griffith had a choice even though fate almost guarantees his decision.
Can your next Monster Manual video be on Chad Thundercock?
SolidGoldCEO Much to discuss with that one
I'd rather hear about simp ultracuck
That one was oddly specific.
Basically a literal deal with the devil. Yeah that's a deal you never want to make.
Yo Ryan, suggestion for you - you should remind people to subscribe toward the end or middle of the vid rather than the beginning. If someone hasn't seen the video yet, they have no reason to subscribe since they don't even know if the video is any good. In contrast, if they've already watched most of the video and *then* you remind them to like/sub, they'll think to themselves "huh, that video was awesome, I think I will subscribe now that you mention it!" It also allows you to jump into the meat and potatoes of the video quicker to hook viewers so they don't click away before the content starts. If they see a flashy thumbnail for another vid while you're still talking about subscribing 30s into your vid, that's an opportunity for them to click away. Keep up the excellent vids 👌🥰
This is so stupid
@@dubious7424 I know you are but what am I ?
Awesome perception psychologicaly
@@aditsuskianditapratama1720 I always thought it was silly people saying "please subscribe" before anyone has even watched the vid yet. If someone is going to be on the fence about subbing, even subconsciously, its gonna be after they were impressed by your video. Suggesting a sub at that time might give them a nudge over the edge and get them to click the button :)
I've always seen Behelits not as physically indestructible, but more conceptually indestructible. They're so inexorably tied to the concept of causality that it simply WOULDNT happen. They would never fall into the hands of someone who would destroy them. And they'd never end up in a situation that would lead to their destruction. They could be as fragile as eggs, but by pure "coincidence" indestructible.
In a similar vein, I don't think the people who possess a Behelit "choose" to use it in a conventional sense. It's just that due to causality, they ARE going to use it. Berserks world kind of foregoes the concept of free will. If it's going to happen, it's GOING to happen.
Spooky stuff.
I like how the Crimson behelit sticks the tip of its tongue out, like a salacious little bad boy egg
😩😳👀
I would never use a behelit because I don't want to spread my despair to those I love.
What of you wanted to live a normal life.
But the Idea of Evil said: *_EGG_*
Another similarity to the lament configuration is in a quote from hellraiser 2, "it is not hands that open the box, but desire"
Personally I think, I would freak out upon seeing it show up 30 plus years down the line. Which is why I don't think I would use it as I would probably run away, while screaming and blaming it all on Chad Thundercock lol.
I've always had a question of "what happens if a Behelit owner is killed before their fated activation?". I know the question straight up breaks the rules of causality, but isn't that literally what Guts and Casca do every day?
6:35 you made my Night bro i did not expect that one
as always, awesome. would i use it? it's a foregone conclusion that one would use it since the godhand had manipulated the timeline to ensure that what will happen will happen.....
.... and it loves cheese.
"Don't worry, you won't be sacrificed..." Shut up, you would sacrifice every last one of us for 100k subs. We know it.
Wait. But we are the subs. So if he sacrificed all of us ye would have half of 100k 🤔. This comment confuses me
Help
Well if its anything like griphitt its ok he Will get new followers...
Keep those videos coming! Awesome job bro!
12:11 : you take it, you keep it and you sacrifice "something".
The idea of evil is still pictured in a cannon chapter just without all the panels of exposition, plus I’m almost certain the given reason was it gives too much away not that it was something he wanted to change. Very nice video though
Would I use a Behelit, no provided I have the knowledge of what it is before it’s presented to me. If I had no idea what a Behelit was abs I was imprisoned, getting ass blasted by my cell mate every night, maybe. If I have to sacrifice someone I love it’s going to be a no go, if I can find a workaround like say, I really love the spaghetti they serve at my prison, and THAT disappears, then yeah I’ll use the Behelit.
Really enjoy your videos, can’t wait to see more.
your suffering would have to be worse than that. Like watching in horror how someone chops children up and cooks it in the soup and feeds it to the prisoners.
Or even worse
And then you get to choose
You are saying this now, in hindsight and with a clear mind. You have no idea what you would feel like and how you would think in that moment. A behelit will activate at such a time that you are pretty much guaranteed to succumb to it. Given that as far as we know no one has yet refused the offer, and considering that to refuse one would have to have incredible willpower, and knowing that the people in the berserk universe are way tougher, have to go through a lot darker shit and probably have on average way more willpower then the likes of us, who have it prettt fucking good and barely suffer at all throughout our lives, you will forgive me if i assume you would not say no.
6:43 the most scariest scream I've ever heard in my entire life
This lovely item madam has sacrificed so many souls. For the low cost of you soul and destruction of your ambitions, this jewel can make your dreams come true.
BEHELIT is one of the most amazing concept of BERSERK
If you wondering about what behelits are referring in the real life: Beleth/Bilet/Bileth/Byleth/Bilith is the name of the king of hell in demonology. If going from the japanese name "beheritto" beherit is syriac for the devil.
6:40 killed me 😂
Realistically if you did activate a Behelit you probably would use it, since it's activated when you're at very weak mental point.
Makes me wonder what would happen if skull knight ate a red one also is the fact he eats them there by destroying/repurposing them defy causation because they were supposed to find there user no matter what or maybe....puts tinfoil hat on ... Skull knight was the intended user of the ones on his sword all along so ganiska could be slashed an guts is really just a fail safe engineered by the idea of evil to act as a check on femto in case femto trys to usurp the idea of evil.but hey thats just a theory a manga theory thanks for reading. Copy pasta
Haha big sword guy goes grrrrrr.
MK ULTRA lol
There’s also Baalzvuv, either another Canaanite god or a different name for the same. He’s best known as Beezelbub, Lord of the Flies, Demon of Lies
Beelzebub meant Lord of the Heavenly House and was a title of El or God. The Hebrew Torah twisted the name to imply that the Canaanites worshipped the Devil. But yes, it does contain the word Baal which was simply a Semitic word meaning Lord.
The idea of evil sounds almost exactly like a Chaos god of the Warp W40k style
I always found it strange as to why miura omitted that chapter after so long, and the issue is, can he just delete it from the cannon like that? i know hes the author himself but still
I love that intro so much.

Wow very impressive Video ! Keep them coming.
I love your berserk monster manual, it’s so hard to berserk content, details that isn’t all in Japanese
I haven't said fuckin mint in a while. Enjoy that sir. You earned it.
You answered your own inquiry. I would guess it CAN absolutely be dhestroyed.
But fate wouldn't allow its dhestruction. It will always be at the right place at the right time.
well, i dont think i would use it, as someone who already went through a very heavy depression, i know that my default when things go very bad for me is questioning my own worth, and as unhealthy and bad that is, im pretty sure it would prevent me from putting myself above others by sacrificing loved ones. but the thought experiment is very interesting, and i would like to see how different kinds of people would answer that question
Belit is also a piratess from the Conan Story "Queen of the Black Coast"
I wonder if you have a Behelit and You didn't use it, could you give it to Uncle Skull and he can deal it for you?
If I had the choice on whether or not to sacrifice, I just simply wouldn’t. And if the Apostles had a problem with that, I’d simply intervene
Simply built different.
Both the sword of behelits and the redacted Abyss episode mirror some mythology used from Code Geass with the sword of Akasha and world of C respectively. Berserk also shares some planetary mythology with Game of Thrones in the moon being a literal bastion of the abyss and an eclipse being a cyclical trigger for a cataclysm.
I do believe you can break the Behelit, in a way. You can break it but it reforms until it's target is found, sorta like Rolling Stones from JJBA part 5
Badass video dude.
good vid ryan like always
The lion king theme made me cry man…
I would constantly be throwing the dam thing away or trying to test ways to banish or destroy them. Weaponizing the stones / jewels would probably be the best case scenario if they literally cannot be destroyed and being a new creation of multiple of them guarantees that it won’t be able to find its true holder.
"YOU SOLVED THE BEHELIT.
WE CAME.
WE HAVE SUCH SIGHTS TO SHOW YOU."
I love my kitties and could never sacrifice them despite their short lives
taking the Behelit and munching Chad Thundercock's head seems tempting... But, then when I die I get flushed in Hell, so, I'd rather die a good man than be sent to the spirit sewers for all eternity.
This is why I don’t ask why I exist and rather just exist because I do. Not enough in a humans life time to think about why they came to be or what they are destined to be. Just live that’s the only thing that is asked of us.
It's been awhile since I delved back into Berserk- But doesn't the Behelit sacrifice also require some form of ownership during the sacrifice. I thought much of the reason Casca and Guts survived the sacrifice is because they were wrongly branded by Griffith. Casca no longer fully loved Griffeth like she did guts- she moreso pitied him. I'd still argue there was some love there but griffeth essentially discarded her after he tried to force himself on her and she refused. Refusing the band of the Hawk. Then there is obviously guts who broke away to no longer be a servant of griffeth but a friend. When Griffeth basically admitted he sacrifices those under him because they are NOT his friends, but friends is someone of his equal He accidentally had Guts break away from his 'ownership'. During the sacrifice Skull knight after saving them ironically mentions it must've been fate because other people have fought but never like this and deemed guts the 'Struggler'.
So what I'm curious about is, can someone with a Behelit truly just sacrifice anything or anyone that is not actually under their control or influence. Sure some apostates give away their humanity which is moreso directly linked to them. I'd almost argue Guts is ironically this powerful cause he's almost cursed by fate~ somewhat cheated by it and owed vengeance. So although fate seems to favor Griffeth... or that weird version of him. Perhaps fate actually supports Guts, as like Griffeth the Godhand seem to be lying on what is fate, and destined to happen to manipulate humans into doing favorable things for them.
What if the person decide to use the behelit and choose to sacrifice his/herself?
I really think at the end Gutts is gonna have the oportunity to sacriface his friends with a behelit for the power to kill Griffin. I belive all the manga is just the explanation how Gutts become the more powerfull apostle and Griffin is just a step to force Gutts to accept the pact.
I don't need the powers, i am already omnipotent.
I have a 3d printed behelit which I freakin love. It's blue though cause we didn't have red filament at the time. I might make one, but... idk if I wanna risk starting an eclipse
That introduction is very Grand Line Review esque.
No complaints, just sayin’
GrandLineReview cannot be trusted
@@antisatanprolife124 Why not? Is he an apostle?
Im pretty sure its implied that even though we dont see all of it cause of budget.. Griffith sacrificed about 5,000 warriors minus Guts and co.
Wasn't the band 10,000 strong during the earlier parts then decimated to half?
Cant remember but that is a major sacrifice at 5,000 so its fitting for the kings behelit sacrifice. Lol
I think it was about half of the 2,500 actually got sacrificed cause the other half of them were killed by the count and that elf looking apostle. Rickety was the o my one that survived
Isn't it said that void sacrificed an entire kingdom when he ascended?
@@SirMcAwesome yes
I don't think the user would get a choice to use it or not, I think the Behelit uses you not the other way around. Hence why "you're" always there right when "it" needs you. Behelit chooses the person, Behelit sets the time.
Hell yes. Great vid !
Man I need to figure out how to get more Berserk into my DMing game
All I ever heard from a Behelit was that I couldn't grasp the true form of its attack.
i wouldn't use the behelit cuz having a family isnt my hopes and dreams, but if i were to lose my ability to write, draw and speak it would be my breaking point because i want to be one of the worlds best comic artist and writers and maybe then i will use it
If i was at my lowest and I came across the same thing I threw away then 50% yes I’ll use it and 50% no I won’t. But if I was wronged to a grievous degree then yeah I’d yes it outright.
no woman can resist chad thundercock. he's always lurking in the shadows to steal yo girl
The behelit is a totem, think cabin in the woods choosing ritual, the purpose of the behelit is to grant the person/s whom possesses the totem their deepest desire but masochistically lol
That down in the dumps, maybe I'd use. But in order to achieve something in life, naw that thing can stay in a deposit box at the bank.
All I want is a back story to zodd. Like where he came from, who was he before Zodd? like for real, how did he become an apostle or was he born an apostle or maybe a baby from two of the god hand. So much I want to know about Zodd.
Damning someone else's soul to eternal torment with there being nothing they can do about it truly is evil.
"UA-cam Global Interactive Education Entertainment Journalist/ Analyst" coined it, that's your title RealLifeRyan btw you have the best video intros watch the jazziness though throughout talking, you can do this by continually doing as you've been and working on your flow.
I would use it because it would have already been planned out for me to use it, knowing the answer I would give. There is no saying "no", because if you would've said "no", you wouldn't have it in the first place.
I am way late to the game but there are/were more than 4 members of the Xenobites. Yes I do know the original movie had the 4 but there were more in the followup films.
Stupid question is anyone else think that the anime fairytale and berserk fit oddly well together
Oh shit thats a connection I never made, the Crimson Behelit is meant for "kings" so that you may become a god hand. Its meant for really notable people therefore the sacrifice must be larger, it must be the sacrifice of a "king". Griffith's band of the Hawk, if Void was that sage? The Old Kingdom. Its not just a red Behelit, only someone of great note could have a sacrifice big enough to make it work.
clearly they can be forced to activate as skullkknight found a way by forging them to a sword
If you ever stumble upon a beherit, please, bring it to the nearest police station.
Might be fate for skully to lose said sword to oh say the godhand, or guts? Seems like a match made in heaven for femto
Ba'al is also the God of storms (which looks like one of the old God Hand members). El, Asherah, Astarte, and a handful of other polytheistic Gods before Judaism became more monotheistic should also be looked into for more Berserk theories. They have some similarities to a couple of the God Hand members.
