I'd give the crown to XIII-2. I know that might not be a popular opinion, but I loved the monster collecting and I'm a sucker for time travel stories

I'm half way through it now on Xbox backcompat. It's pretty great so far. I love the exploration, love the monster collecting, love the collectathon nature of it with those crystals you need to unlock new gates.
The story is still an incoherent mess like 13 though.

@@garywood97 Oh, yes. Microsoft really outdid themselves with the back compat for the FFXIII, going as far as upgrading the cut-scenes to match the PS3 version of the game (the Xbox360 had low resolution versions due to disk constraints, something which has now been rectified). According to Digital Foundry, the back compat versions of FFXIII are currently the best versions of FFXIII out there.

Same here, ff XIII-2 is still my favorite out of the trilogy and for me even a little bit better than XV :)

  • @skyserpent14
    @skyserpent14 5 років тому +234

FFXIII won my heart over for many reasons which FFXV didn't. For one, XIII is set in a complete fantasy world that is totally unrelated to our own, with its very imaginative landscapes and ways of living that can only exist within a fantasy universe. XIII's versions of a parade and firework show, for example, would be impossible to replicate in the real world due to their very magical design. That makes it far more interesting and more appealing to imagine being a part of. Unlike XV, nothing about XIII's world feels mundane.
Now I want to mention that every time I hear XIII's soundtrack, my mind goes into a state of nostalgic bliss. Masashi Hamauzu did a fantastic job composing XIII's music; the battle theme is one of my favorites in the whole series, the soundtrack as a whole is unique, and some of the songs just hit me as ethereal. XV had a few epic tracks, but much of the music fell short for me personally and I didn't find the soundtrack as memorable. And I never noticed a personal theme track for any of XV's characters, which leads me to my next point.
Like you said, XIII's cast is diverse and separated by completely different backgrounds. Each character has their own theme fitting of their personality, and they also experience considerable character development. With every character getting time away from the full cast, we get to see their personal stories unfold without distraction. Even if you don't care for any of the characters initially, I'm certain they grow on players who give the game a chance. Regarding XV's cast, I didn't feel such growth and connection with the characters. I feel like they simply surround the protagonist. FFXV as a base game gives no attention to them individually. I think it absolutely shameful that Square Enix just made their stories DLC. We don't even get an explanation whatsoever as to what happens to them during their time away from the party. Quite indecent.
Regarding story as a whole, I'm sure everyone can agree that although FFXIII's is difficult to get a gist of, FFXV's is downright incomplete. I know some people would rather not try with FFXIII's complex storyline, but I honestly think it is such a great story once you understand it. I'm impressed with how rich the lore is, and having a better understanding each time you play through the game adds to its replay value. Also keep in mind that it's not complex in the same way as Kingdom Hearts. FFXIII (the first game, at least) actually makes sense. FFXV, however, is just so full of gaps that I cannot appreciate the story for what it is.
Lastly, I have to talk about gameplay. Argue if you will, but I personally find FFXIII's battle system and overall gameplay to be entertaining, linear as it may be. It's lack of sidequests may be disappointing, but I also feel that sidequests don't fit in well with a story about refugees anyway. There are plenty enough sidequests in XIII's sequels, if you have an interest, and I contend that although Lightning Returns doesn't have the best story, the sidequests are sure as hell fun to play in my opinion (and you will find that Lightning is hilarious in a snarky way). I wasn't impressed with XV's sidequests since I didn't find them entertaining nor meaningful. I'm definitely not a fan of FFXV's first half consisting mainly of sidequests and the other half steamlining ahead in story. Maybe I'll feel differently once I decide to reinstall and replay it, especially since all the patches, but I doubt I can ever enjoy it as much as I enjoyed FFXIII, my second Final Fantasy game after FFX and one of my favorites. My spiel, there you have it.

Well said friend. You mentioned replay value. That's not talked abput nearly as it should be. Xlll never gets old, and i KNOW ive palyed at least 4 times, and its always an adventure. The replay on it combined with understandkmg the lore makes it that much richer

    • @Apotoxin4869
      @Apotoxin4869 5 років тому +11

Not to mention most of XV's side questing was just fighting monsters. The dungeons were kind of cool but they were very lather, rinse and repeat. In fact, that's what I would call most of the first half of XV. There wasn't much about any of the side content that was unique. It was all just 'help some dude whose car broke down' or 'bring me this thing' or 'kill this group of monsters'. Even the NPCs were quite dry compared to XIII-2 and Lightning Returns. LR in particular had some of the most entertaining NPCs of any game I've ever played and it was a pleasure and a joy finding new characters to interact with. Not to mention the side quests were fun and really gave you a window into XIII's fantasy world.
Also, as Savannah Butler said, the XIII cast was all around much better than XV's. The characters were fleshed out and dynamic and they each grew tremendously over the course of the game. Every character had a bonafide personality and unique motivation and their interactions with each other were heartwarming and felt very real and special. Many people didn't like XIII's cast, but that wasn't because they weren't well-written characters. It was because theirs wasn't a story every kind of person is able to get onboard with (particular western male gamers) and that's okay. XV, on the other hand, had a weak, unmotivated supporting cast who really only stood by Noctis because it was their job. They were chummy, sure, but we never saw them grow close. We never saw them develop. By the end of the game, Prompto, Ignis, and Gladio were still the exact same people they were at the beginning of the game--just with more baggage and boo-boos.
In the end, I'm just going to parrot what everyone else has been saying. Story-wise, XIII is the clear winner. The plot may have been somewhat convoluted with important details buried in data-logs, but it was a complete game with a clear motivation and strong world/characters. XV is a broken mess that should have been great but suffered from production hell and changing hands partway through. Yes, people want more from XV, but that's only because we didn't get the game we were promised.
It's not because XV's a good game that we want more. It's because it ISN'T a good game.

I personally prefer FFXIII over FFXV because the story still felt like a complete experienced. But I could see why people would say FFXV is better because it is a fun game to playthrough despite it's issues, while FFXIII was just fights and cutscenes with no side activities until you got to chapter 11, I think as long as a game is fun most people can get past it's issues. FFXV being opened actually helped XV, if it wasn't it just would've been another XIII. So if we're just comparing the first XIII game & XV then I would say it's better in terms of fun and exploration.

    • @j-mont
      @j-mont 5 років тому +3

I agree mostly because FFXIII can win fans over if they remake the game and increase the open world of the first part. In truth the complains first game give them a clear line to make it better since everyone who played the first game loved the story. Heck if they edit the story and make all three game into one like kingdom hearts collection it could be story of the year. I didn't care for FFXV because I didn't feel like it was complete in a since. If Final Fantasy XIII had as many updates and DLC included as FFXV it could have been a much better game as well.

Honestly, wasn't the biggest fan of XIII originally but I love it now. I'd pick XIII over XV any day but that is mostly because it still feels like FF to me. Much more than XV does and it's actually finished unlike the mess that is XV (that's not to say I dislike it btw). I do like XV but I wish it was complete and I generally struggle with open world tbh. I lose interest way too fast but then I am probably the minority here. I actually prefer to be told a story, be forced to go places and then have the game open up at the end and allow me some freedom. Kinda earn that freedom to go where u want if you will vs just open world, do what u want when u want style. I hate that I like to get to the story and do all the extra things late game or midgame. A few side quests and slight off track from story parts is nice but not fully open world. Just my opinion though and I do believe I am old fashioned there but I will never fully adapt to open world games. At least not in FF. They just make me lose interest sooooooo fast.
Obviously I can not say for sure, but Versus XIII if it stuck to that, I think it would of been so much better. Still not a fan of fully open world though.

For me the FF13 trilogy is absolutely my favorite. For whatever reason the story of 13 and it's sequels just really resonated with me and I found myself obsessed with them. I very much enjoyed the writing (even thought lot of people say it's bad) and the lore/mythos of the fabula nova chrystalia universe I just found fascinating. FFXIII is by far the superior game. It's cast is more diverse, it's world and lore more flashed out and the gameplay is more inline with the classic FF experience and can be quite challenging - especially when you deactivate the auto battle feature (which is quite easy). I like the idea of FFXV but it can't hold a candle to the overall better package called FFXIII.

Leon S. I have to be honest, this is the one critique people vent about when talking about FF13 I can’t understand. FF13 is neither the first nor the only mainline title that forces the player to play with a fixed group of characters: the by many beloved FF6 does exactly the same and no one complains about it there.
You’re forced to play as group Locke, group Sabin and group Terra. If you want to or not isn’t important because the story dictates it.
By the way: Personally speaking I enjoyed playing FF15 more than FF13 but comparing these to games objectively I can’t say that FF15 is the better game because it’s an unfinished mess. FF13 is a complete package that doesn’t need DLCs like FF15 to fill the uncountable plot holes in the base game and even then doesn’t manage to tell a coherent story. At the end of the day FF13 is the better game. Maybe not the better FF title but that’s another discussion. :3

Not jumping on a bandwagon and yes I did play the game to the end. At the end I came to the conclusion that this is the worst FF game in the series. Leveling up felt like a choir. The characters ranged from bland to unlikable and the story was just abysmal. You spend most of the game trying to decipher what your mission is given to them by a pulse fal'cie. The only thing they have to go by is a brief image shown by the Fal'cie. Brings the question on how things actually get done in Pulse and Cacoon if that is how the fal'cie communicates with humans. The only time I actually enjoyed the game was when we went to Pulse . It was the only time the game didn't feel like an endless hallway. Weapon customization is a complete joke. It's the worst I've seen in any game. You have all these materials and not clue as to what to do with it other then to dump it all into your sword and hope for the best. The real good thing I can say about the game is that it looks gorgeous. Other then that, this game is forgettable.

  • @Ephideltrance

Throwing in my two cents into the fray, comparing strictly the first FF13 vs FF15.
Putting aside that FF15 suffered issues with content being split across Blu Ray and anime, that the game basically was incomplete at launch, and the fiasco that was the first 3 DLC that really should have been included in the game. (these things alone makes FF13 better imo because FF13 was a fully realized game)
Alright, graphics- both were truly spectacular at their respective times, tie for me.
World- FF13 world was as many say a long walking corridor until it opened up near the end, whereas FF15 was truly open from the start, but FF15 world for the most part felt dead, same way people criticized the lack of towns in FF13, FF15 barely had any despite a way larger world. I still give it to FF15 though.
Story- FF13 story was ambitious to say the least and even confusing at times for some, FF15 story is basically the typical RPG story of a kingdom being taken over, chosen Prince must defeat the darkness, much easier to follow.. FF13 concept with the Fal Cie and L'Cie I found more intriguing than what we got in FF15 especially due to lack of cutscnes- FF15 like only had two cut-scenes with Empire despite it being the main villain until Ardyn revealed himself fully- sorry, not acceptable at all! FF13 wins story by a good margin.
Combat- FF13 wins for me. Both have been criticized for feeling very automated, but FF13 combat was definitely more strategic than FF15....you had to master that paradigm/stagger system. Early on FF13 had me on the edge of my seat with bosses, FF15 not so much unless you specifically went to fight a boss way above your level, even then with elixers being so easy to get in this game, there really is no challenge at all.
Delving into the magic/summon systems which also falls under combat- FF13 of course takes it again. FF13 had a variety of magic, and it is one of the few FF games where debuffs are perhaps the most important class of magic in tough battles. FF15 had a horrible magic system- magic stored in a grenade, really? Only three elements that oddly you can add buffs and debuffs too...like why would Ice magic just heal you? The damaging your own allies was interesting in theory but clearly it didn't take which is why the game released an item to make you immune to friendly fire.
The summons in FF15 were actually the gods of the world so I understood it from a story point of view but those summons were so rare there have been people that only ever saw the summons via UA-cam. FF13 at least tried something interesting with the gestalt mode although it was a hit and miss...still FF15 summon system is the worst by far, no matter how cool the summons looked.
Characters- FF15 wins by a small margin. Noctis beats Lightning who had a stoic personality like so many before her but Lightning definitely came off way cooler than Noctis as a result. I actually preferred the mixed party over the boy band of FF15. Technically you don't get much of their past and story if you don't go watch it on UA-cam or pay for their DLC. Luckily, the idle banter in FF15 was perhaps the greatest aspect of the game that gave a fresh life to the characters. Ardyn too was an amazing villain, definitely far more interesting than Barthandelus or Cid of FF13. If Caius and Bhunivelze were to be included though- FF13 would take it.
Overall F13 wins for me, I could have gone into more detail, but that would be an essay. I did enjoy FF15 though despite its huge shortcomings.

Final Fantasy 15 is the first and only Final Fantasy I have ever played and I absolutely loved it. Of course, the story lacked at some time, was not completely finished and some aspects - like the long loading times and hours of driving - but the main characters were on point. I've played XIII and XV. In fact, I only just recently been playing XV Windows edition. I'm surprised XIII doesn't have a 2nd version of some sort, then again, XIII-2 fixed the problems with XIII, while giving a new world to explore and such.
Believe it or not, I overall like XV more. Sure, it got linear after chapter 10, but I'd rather play a game that's one third linear(XV), than a game that's 2 thirds linear(XIII).
I liked the combat system of XV so much more. Back in XIII, I beat 90% of the fights just by pressing one button, since most the fights are automated, while occasionally pressing R1 to change paradigms (ya know change jobs). With XV, I needed to press more than one button to actually win. Heck, on windows version, you get to switch characters mid-battle. Why can't I do that in XIII? That would have been cool to switch characters in XIII, and add more strategy.
However, I noticed XIII had more playable characters than XV does, and I like that. I also noticed there are more cut scenes in XIII than XV did. Thing is, I don't like games with too many cutscenes otherwise it turns into a movie. And games should be games, not movies. I once played a different game, there was literally a cutscene every 5 minutes and I was like "C'mon, I wanna play the game, not watch people talk for 30 minutes."
And the story behind XIII is so much better. In XV, I really did not feel sorry for Luna because she was only onscreen for 10 minutes and never joins your crew, unlike Aeris and Sareh does(In XIII-2, obviously). heck, I felt more sorry for the Regalia car when it broke more than Luna. 😆 Even when Prompto went missing I was like "Noooooooo! He's so helpful and funny!!". Fun fact, if Promoto died instead, I would have felt so much more sorry for Prompto over Luna!!
Heck, Square did it better with Aeris over Luna. Back in Original VII, Aeris was in my crew for more than 10 hours, so of course I was going to care. Heck, in the ending to VII, Aeris calls holy to stop meteor from destroying the world! I still find Aeris semi-annoying (wants cloud to herself), but at least some of her limit breaks are very good (fury brand!). What does Luna offer to the party? A ring. And Luna steps in couple of times at Ruined Insomnia as a ghost (second time against Ardyn, who was insanely easy to win against). Wow. Back when XV was announced, I was like "Hey, do you get to play as Luna?" and you don't. Unless there's something I'm missing. Oh, I know this comes off as a rant, but why on earth is Lunafreya the icon for ff15, when I never get to play as her?? That's the same as putting Cindy as the icon for ff15. And I like Cindy much more than Luna, without Cindy, I would only have chocobos and constant sprinting for the whole game's travelling! Plus you get to fast track with the Regalia.
I will say the Lucii ring is only useful for chapter 13 since that was Noctis's only weapon, but I didn't need it afterwards, and even then, I can run past the enemies, so the ring isn't as useful as I think it should have been.
I would give XIII a 6.5/10, and Windows edition XV an 8/10. I played original XV, I would probably give it 7/10.

I honestly think that XV was one of the best experiences I've had on PS4, despite its clear issues.
Regardless of what others may feel about the game, there was a lot more of an emotional impact the game made on me than 13. I also enjoyed the characters of 15 a whole bunch, meanwhile the same can't be said for 13 since there was a few characters I couldn't stand. I also really like the gameplay of XV and wish they would do a lot more with it.

  • @deraj8keeper
    @deraj8keeper 5 років тому +9

From my experience, I just could not get into XV. The story wasn't gripping enough to push me forward and I didn't like the combat system or the overworld design. I did like the dungeons for the most part, but when an enemy showed up, it kinda ruined the experience for me. After I finally pushed myself to beat the game, I dropped it and didn't bother with any of the side DLC.
Whereas with XIII, I've beaten it multiple times despite it linearity. I loved the story in XIII and the environment design was spectacular. I loved the paradigm system and the strategy you could have with it (if you complain about it being automatic, you can set the default command to "Abilities" and select all your abilities manually, which I always did). I preferred the sequels having that air of being unnecessary because it made them feel like extra content rather than something mandatory you would need to get to understand everything.
I like XIII more than XV, but the best HD Final Fantasy for me is World of Final Fantasy.

Maybe this comment is late but i got fondness on story 15 which be the lore is quite misleading but a big story, like when I was in Junior High school. My teacher often give us something to read then comprehend it yourself then you found out it's a open ended story, you know a challenge to unravel the mystery. Like on the XV you have to found those easter eggs in able to found the truth. The more I like about it is; it's a combination point of view. You will not only given the perspective of one character but the other cast, like Ardyn; he was the antagonist of the story but the time you saw his perspective, you'll change how you see the bigger picture.
To sum it up, it capture my attention to know the lore of Final Fantasy XV,lastly you'll find me like a boomer but hearing yoko shimamura's arrangement give nostalgia to me, remembering my childhood that my radio beside me only play Classical, country and Rock.

  • @ImSofaKingGood

FFX HD Remaster lol. FFXIV is pretty darn good in terms of world-building and story now too haha. In all seriousness, FFXV had awesome combat and open-world freedom, but the FFXIII trilogy overall felt more complete and had a more creatively inspired aesthetic (although I can appreciate the "fantasy based on reality" approach of FFXV as well). I wouldn't mind if they came out with a FFXV-2, but considering the cancellation of the planned DLC and the way the main story was intended to end, it's hard to see that happening. Square's demo videos Agni's Philosophy and Prototype were cool and the concepts for FF Type-Next (sequel to Type-0, also a great game) looked super dope, so I'm kinda hyped for something fresh, creative, and technically-ambitious for FFXVI. But considering that they're probably pumping a lot of resources into FFVII Remake and having just finished KH3, I think we should actually encourage them not to announce FFXVI too early, otherwise we'll end up in another Versus XIII roller coaster.

I disagree with you or the critics or whoever it is, for saying FF XIII auto battle becomes a button mashing without given much thought. As there are many different types of enemies, you have to think about a good set of paradigms or even the party members before you engage the enemy. And usually you have to switch the paradigm 3-5 times in normal battle, and around 10 times in boss battle. Paradigm shift is far more strategical, far better and superior than the old turn based combat, better and superior than the old generations of FF. It requires a quick decision making during the battle.

    • @Lunaryse

I think there was more emotion in the XIII trilogy and I also enjoyed 13-2 and 13-3 a lot. Also 13 feels more like a final fantasy when you play it. 13s world was/is breathtaking and I'd love a PS4 remaster. FFXV felt unfinished, the characters were good but sometimes one note. I enjoyed having the forced story cap in XIII whereas XV just didn't scale well with the group getting stronger. I also loved Summons in 13 whereas I couldn't really use them well in XV since it was RNG based but I would of loved it if I could of used them at will.
For me XIII is the best out of the HD era. Whereas XV is still unfinished and now will never be finished, and I don't agree at all that they spread XV into Anime as well as a movie and a mobile game @_@

I really miss the beautiful CGI of FFXIII. No game since has used it very extensively. There's not much in FFXIII-2, I haven't played Lightning Returns, but I'm gonna assume there wasn't much in it either. And FFXV and FFVII Remake barely had any either. Though FFVII Remake has WAY better character models in game and in cutscenes. The eyes especially are much better in FFVII Remake. They just look so realistic. The hair is the main thing that isn't as good as CGI cutscenes at this point. FFVII Remake strikes a great balance between the two styles though. It uses the ATB bar, and the stagger system, but has action gameplay closer to FFXV. My main complain is the ATB bar is smaller than XIII and slows down the combat more than I'd like at times. I wish it was possible to increase the ATB bar like in FFXIII. But otherwise its largely the best of both games.

I think that they are equally good. FFXIII has its positives in full-game story(no dlc content) as well as a entirely told story with mostly completely developed charachters as well as a difficult yet rewarding combat system(albeit technically more Strategy then RPG style) whereas FFXV has an arguably better HD quality, fully open world, live battle system (i.e. not turn based) and more gimmicks aside from the main story, something I wish thirteen had more of. As fqs as in total background beauty its pretty much just a matter of personal preference.

I dont know i loved XIII more tbh, when luna died i just sat there and was like.... Ok let's continue.
The female protagonist had little to no character development in the story and they killed her in the middle of it, like SERIOUSLY? whereas in XIII when you learn of Vanille and Fang's story you actually feel for them, i cried when Sazh got his summon the first time, you truly feel involved in their struggle against impossible odds.
XV didn't give me that feeling, what happened to Noctis at the end of the game, i just didn't feel it, if i can give a second name to ff XV it will be : Chapter Noctis, because you only see the game from his perspective, and it's not even enough
Even the battle system was better in XIII sure the game kinda played itself and whatnot but at least i get to choose from a variety of spells and how to exploit each enemy weakness to it's best, in XV the spells are consumables and only three elements are available: fire ice and thunder.
XIII beats XV in every category for me

XV and it isn’t even close. Everyone is well aware of XV’s story limitations and production cycle, but the fact remains that it is a *blast* to play. It was the first really good Final Fantasy experience I’ve had since X way back when I was in high school. The music, the travel, the battle system and the world were all immersive and very fun. XIII was the least enjoyable Final Fantasy game I’ve ever played by a long margin. It wasn’t even a game as much as a test to see how many hours someone can walk north through a tunnel before blowing their brains out.

I really love both XIII AND XV. They're both very different though, I find comparing them to be difficult. Where XIII may fail, XV may flourish and vice versa.
I think the cutscenes are lot more engaging and gripping in XIII, especially the cinematics. There was a lot more character development in XIII too; especially among characters like Hope, Snow and Light, whereas although incredibly lovable, the chocobros remain sort of stagnant without the usage of the Episode DLCs.
Final Fantasy XIII was very long, maybe around fifty hours (for me it was), and although a little confusing, was fleshed out, it felt like XIII was confusing, but the characters were confused too-they had to figure it out as they went like we did. Just my perspective. Unfortunately, Square made many things only comprehensible through paid extensions and DLC in XV, but even still, what XV had was SO enjoyable, it was impossible for me to not fall in love with the characters, I just wanted to learn more about them, but we saw so little of some of them, like Aranea and Lunafreya to name a few.
The paradigm system took a WHILE to become interesting, but when it did, you had to really prepare a strategy and paradigms before engaging strong enemies.
But, you never take a break in XV. Always on your toes and the real-time combat is refreshing for an FF game. A hard mode would have been cool though.
I personally never found the linearity of XIII aggravating, but I see why people didn't like it and I prefer the openness of XV any day. I love looking around beautiful worlds and XIII didn't really have that. XV had more freedom than XIII and I found that refreshing. Although, linear games aren't bad. I've played some linear games that I found to be incredibly beautiful, incredibly. I think it depends on one's taste tbh. But, MOST FF games HAVE been linear, like the beloved X, and even one of my absolute favourites-VII-shared this linearity for portions of the game, which makes me wonder what made some fans bothered by that. (Anyone care to enlighten me?)
    I don't know.
It was clear that XV was unfinished, and I'm not sure if Square will add any more content to it after the cancellation of the three eps save for Ardyn's.
But XIII, although complete, still shared many problems, especially among seasoned fans of the previous games.
However, for me, they both have my heart. Whatever was presented in both games I managed to love and cherish and in my eyes, that comes before the opinion of the masses. It's okay to like things that many don't like. Live and let live~♥

People were fed up with XIII trilogy because Square wanted to milk it to the max while people were disappointed by the cancelled dlc for XV because Square totally screwed up the story and left so much of it vague, partly intentionally to sell first season pass and then when people were angry they added Royal pack and promised second season pass to explain more. The only reason XV isn't hated even more than it is (and it IS hated a lot) is because it wasn't as linear. But instead of linearity we got 120 fetch quests. For me the only thing XV was better at (besides graphics) was the characters and banter between the four. Maybe Ardyn if all the conspiracy theories are confirmed in the dlc (especially Pitioss theory). That's it. XIII wins otherwise. XIII-2 was even better because it fixed everything XIII was criticized for except chaotic story. Battle system was actually real fun which I can't say about XIII's and XV's.

The game had a lot a love and then trolls (that bash it). With FFXV when the DLC was canceled everyone was not really "begging for more like he say, it's a reason why they let it get cancel. There is not enough demand.

I honestly don't see the point of pitting XIII and XV against each other when they are both among the weakest main entries in the franchise (along with II). People love to say that XV is better than XIII or vice versa to make the game sound better than it is, but they're really not doing the game any favours by comparing it to another lackluster title. Someone thinks one of the worst FFs is better than another one of the worst FFs? Wow, that makes the game they are stanning look so good!

FF13 being bad was more about personal taste, FF15 had a lot of issues from the onset like not even being complete upon release, incredibly poor story that was split via different media, etc. Looking at it as unbiased as one can be- FF13 is the better game, just going off Square's own relationship with it- FF13 spanned two sequels, and they actually believed in it. Square Enix basically admitted they dropped the ball with FF15 big time, and to their credit they tried to fix it- but it actually only made things worse as it only showed us just how far off the mark they were.
As for things like story and characters, combat, etc- those things are heavily opinion- but I will add that FF13 combat is more fun that FF15 for me, which had to be the easiest FF game ever coupled with the worst magic/summon system ever.

I can't give an honest opinion since I haven't finished either game, but after watching your analysis videos on them, now I want to finish both of them :)
Thank you so much for this deep analysis video as always. You are a very good narrator (I might have said that before lol), I enjoy watching and listening to your narration, analysis, and thoughts about these types of video games, and others as well. You rock! :)
