Congrats to Alex Bowman for breaking that streak!
My pick christopher bell ended up 37th
I was 1 of 7% that had Bowman for the win but stopped watching when it started raining and SvG crasht into the wall. Had i seen the finish or heard the endresult then i would've gone to the casino.
@@marcusvillarreal Before the rain he looked strong.
@@henkm4862 yeah he did
@@marcusvillarreal mine as well. having lived in Oklahoma for the past 20 years, I was happy to see an Okie in NASCAR!
The day that my beloved NASCAR goes all electric will be the day I end my years long love for NASCAR racing
Hold on! The guy that finished last last year finished first and the guy that finished first last year finished last. 🤯
wait what??? i didn't even notice that, that's actually wild. i wonder how common that is, never heard of such a stat for for the same cup race in consecutive years before myself at least.
Whoa😮
My favorite Kevin Harvick quote of all time and I been a fan of the sport since 76, "All Electric. No freakin way !!!". Amen Brother.
Sounds like he needs to send littleman go fishing with Martin Truex
❤ that even though Kevin doesn't like to fish but supports Keelan's love of it. Great Dad right there.
EV in existing NASCAR series would be a nail in the coffin. Now, a third series for EV might be an addition.
An electric stock car is EXACTLY what NASCAR fans DO NOT want.
agreed i’m so tired of everything i love getting ruined. really hope it doesn’t go that way.
I approve this message!!!
How many times does it have to be said? They are NOT trying to replace the top 3 series with electric cars. You won't see that happen likely for a long time or decades. Cup will go Hybrid, where you will get your 800+ hp back, the cars will still sound great (lookin at you Cadillac LMDh). Chill out.
You don't speak for me. I'd love to see NASCAR dip it's toes into this arena whether it becomes a major series of not. Most racing series around the world are going to some sort of electrification of their vehicles because it is the direction the industry is headed. Ignoring that because of short-sidedness seems counterproductive to growing NASCAR as a global brand. Indycar just had their first weekend of their version of a "hybrid" system and by all accounts it was a success.
@ba97racing Maybe so, but I watched the entire interview Jr did with Elton Sawyer, and I'm telling you, from a fan perspective, everything he said sucked.
A stock car shouldn't have paddle shifters.
A stock car shouldn't be so !#$+& Aero dependent.
A stock car SHOULD have 800hp.
I could go on and on and on.
PREACH KEVIN!
Another awesome show. Thanks Kevin,Mamba and Kaitlyn
Bryan France is the EV of the family
Lol
Harvick the hat man story was hilarious 🤣
Someone needs to pitch a Charleston West Virginia street race seriously it would be massive for economical and entertainment standpoints
Since I live in West Virginia I approve of this
If the street race can incorporate one of the bridges in Charleston, that would be a sight to see!
Second that!!! (WV resident as well)
The unfortunate truth is that Nascar doesn't need any more east coast representation so they wouldn't do it. They want new audiences, people who don't watch. That means markets like SoCal, PNW, etc. The next street race is gonna be in another major city.
Yes sir! That’s why we love Kevin. Ev NO FREAKING WAY!!
KV, you MUST be the 48 team’s lucky charm!!! Please tell me you’re going to be at more races 😂 I’m a huge Bowman fan
Charleston WV street race plz plz plz on the boulevard and capitol street I promise it will work
Well, in that case, make it Roanoke, VA!
Ever see an EV catch on fire?
Btw, very good analogy on NHRA.
Kevin talking about Bowmans burnout, I think one of Kevin's nicknames was the burnout king.
Cup cars already sound like a bicycle with a card stuck in the spokes. You make them EVs and you can shut the doors.
Great podcast, guys! I enjoy watching.
I'm curious to know how the batteries would stand up in a crash. Could be dangerous
they are and course workers have to have the proper training to address these incidents. Watch MotoE, MotoGPs version of an electrified series, as those bikes regularly go up in flames when they wreck and they burn hot, fast and need special equipment to put the fire out.
@@ChuckHickl You are correct. Not to mention the pit and garage fires. It's ridiculous. TT zero was complete shite. 95% of the bikes couldn't even make the lap. They don't run it anymore because nobody cared or watched these failures.
We had street course racing in Denver in the Champ Car days - Grand Prix of Denver. Last winner of it was AJ in 2006. Would absolutely LOVE to see NASCAR here!!
Alex is in the 48 at least until 2026!
Considering the level of support Ally has shown Alex, he might be in that car for a long time. Not comparing them for obvious reasons but he has had more success in the 48 then Jimmie with Ally on the hood. His numbers at HMS are almost identical to Jrs.
There are big problems with battery electrolyte. It is very dangerous and very difficult to extinguish a fire.
It must be awesome to hear and smell NASCAR in the midst of a big city.
When are they going to do a NYC street race?
Bring a race to Vancouver 🇨🇦🏁
Get Justin Trudeau out of office and we’ll support a face north of the border
NASCAR has a track south of Denver in the Springs just sitting there wasting away
I agree 💯 with you Kevin
Love the Sunoco jacket. Reminded me of the # 94 Sunoco Olds. In the 90s. I know it's the official fuel for Nascar but wish there was a car sponsored by Sunoco full time. It was 1 of my favorite paint scheme in the 90s- bring it back.
It was great to see that the teams and drivers make good decisions about speed on pit road and tire selections.
They are grown men and women and we as fans and organizations need to treat them as responsible adults as they are.
Everyone seems to forget that before he broke his back he was the points leader
And that was even including some points penalties.
The 48 wins Pocono!
How about all the motor homes and private jets that come to the race do they have to be electric too? Asking for a friend.
I will be there ❤ nascar!
I'd love to see a street race in Pittsburg. Picturesque city.
If Nascar goes to electric cars the sport will die faster then a F150 lightnings battery does while towing a 3500 pound trailer. That happens really fast folks
45:21 Kevin, SVG isn't the only guy who thought about drifting around the track. Alex Bowman drifts a Corvette in his free time. He knows how to drift and you can tell he just wanted to do what he did in his Corvette.
Please don't discredit what he did by comparing him to SVG's drifting, something which he didn't even do at his Xfinity win.
SVG was on track to win that Cup race again until Briscoe wiped him out. Having said that, although I was gutted for SVG getting taken out by someone else, that Chicago race is still a phenomenal race. It’s my favourite Motorsport race of the year and I watch many different series.
Soon the most famous words in Motorsports will be “drivers, plug in your batteries.”
Next year they should make the pace car, The Blues Brother car. restomod could do the mission
Does it come with a big key on the back to wind it up? 😅
The Electric car looks great but how will it perform with other cars on the track . Will we still see the speeds that we’re seeing in cars now or will speeds be different for more competitive races lol.
I genuinely don't think people realize how hard Alex's career has been in the Cup series. He was at BK racing for a couple of years, goes to Tommy Baldwin racing and finds out he lost his ride via Twitter. He takes a sim driver position at HMS then Dale gets hurt. He should have been driving the 88 that entire year but Axalta really did not want Alex in the car if they were on the hood. He is also running part-time at JRM in the Xfinity series. He sits out all of 2017 and then takes over for Jr in the 88 in 2018. All seems fine until Nationwide announces that they are leaving NASCAR so now he has sponsorship issues. Jimmie retires and Ally comes in and says they are happy to have Alex as their driver.
Don’t kid yourself he’s gonna still gonna have an up-and-down season
Seattle Race Please!
An EV might be a cool Pit Cart…
Hey Kevin. Maybe NASCAR cup series should go hybrid. Then they could flip a switch to electric so they don’t cause a pile up if they Do run out of gas !😂😂😂
Not a fan of the electric approach - still don’t believe it’s our future and won’t support electric racing.

@@ChuckHickl Nobody is speaking for you, fool. Hybrid and all-electric are two different worlds. You don't know what you are talking about.
Didn’t you guys say you were gonna stream a watch party at during pocono race because y’all were all gonna be home I’m tying to watch that make it happy closer….
Here is an idea for the NASCAR EV car. One way to show it off is to either let it run parade laps at the beginning of a race, OR even make it the Pace Car
It's an oversized bumper car .
If Nascar goes to EV I will not be one of them I'm out
Perfect. Can I have your seat? Been watching since the 70s and love the direction NASCAR is headed. Finally!
If you haven’t left NASCAR after they took your flag, you’re not going anywhere.
See you next year
❤
If NASCAR goes electric, I'm gone. Have to have engine sound.
So you'd stop watching if you went deaf? Sound is your only interest in racing?
60 year old has embraced nearly every change NASCAR has had, except, playoffs, stage breaks, the glut of road courses, I like the Chicago street race. Charlotte and Indy should always be the ovals, Bristol or any traditional NASCAR oval track should never be dirt. Bring on the electrics with trucks and/or Xfinity. NASCAR needs to plant sectional sound systems around the track that each car will trigger with an onboard sending unit.
They will lose me as a fan as soon as that happens! I have been a fan for 50 plus years and that would end it immediately!!! No way i go to an electric car race
I agree! NASCAR and EV do not go together
I’m not saying that I’d be a fan of electric NASCAR id bet good money that anyone who loves race cars also enjoyed their childhood slot car set.
No electronic vehicle for me
Kevin look at E Formula they have two cars and 30 minute races that's not racing
Formula E is the joke of the racing world. Complete shite. I tried to watch, I couldn't stand it.
Biased but I still feel good about Buescher. Won Michigan, Richmond, and Daytona during this time of the Schedule last year. Am worried about Ross... gotta think Nashville was his shot at a win but who knows.
Electric cars? I've been a nascar fan for decades...they go to electric cars I quit supporting it. Done and done!😢
Adios!
Well now that you don’t have NASCAR to watch, you can join your friends at the bingo hall

The electric cars would catch fire under the conditions a "racecar" is subjected to. U can quote me 😫
Why is everything going electric 😭 it's so stupid
At this point, if you have to ask that, someone explaining it wouldn't help.

@@TreyFurrow I am a fan of racing and NASCAR is just one of many series I follow. If you are upset about the electrification of vehicles, you are being left behind. Most national/global series have an electrified series already or are moving in that direction. I am not only "not upset", I am excited for what it could mean for our domestic racing series. Indycar just had their first race with their hybrid system and it turned out very positive. Hybrid systems will be the place to start and they trot out these fully electric vehicles to trigger the boomers and keep the series in the news cycle. We do appreciate you doing your part!
Not gona work bs 😢😢😢😢
Them car's catch fire you can't put them out electric car's batteries just keep burning
Id bet Ty Gibbs every cup race and he will win soon. good payout for 20 bucks
If they go electric, I'm out! 😮
Skip the ev and go hydrogen its the only way to be more efficient, its water fuel
Trying to imagine how pit stops are going to look with electric NASCAR Instead of a big old fuel guy coming over the wall with big gas can laid on his shoulder. It will be a little ol skinny guy with a extension cord. Not going to be a pretty sight❗️😂
Congrats to Keelan! My #20 CBell is going to win Pocono! ❤

Can we revive the Baltimore Grand Prix circuit??? I think the cup and xfinity cars would be great there. The atmosphere there for Indycar/ALMS was incredible.
Not one nascar fan has ever asked for an electric car.
I guess we need electric cars to help with the environment, but in no way NASCAR should allow that What are they gonna do pull up to a Tesla plug-in station during a race
I have to think Harvick's (and most Nascar fans) age is a big factor in his bias against EV's and Nascar is well aware of that. But keep your eye on the Nascar Youth Series and EV's that will most likely be Nascar's long term plan to change attitudes. I just watched them at Indy and found them VERY fascinating to be honest. Being able to run multiple classes with one car with just a flip of a dial has some real appeal. I am 64 yrs old and been involved in racing one way or another most of my life but I find this EV craze kind of exciting.
Nope I alot of people who are 18 who would never watch again. Age doesn't mean much
I don't know one young person below the age of 21 that's excited about EVs at all, much less in racing.
@@tylersees6665 ...Age means everything when it comes to bias which is why introducing it to kids is a clean slate so to speak.
The electric car has to be better than the gen 7 on short tracks
There is literally nothing about EV racing that is more enjoyable for fans than a traditional race. Nothing. The only benefit is to vehicle manufacturers trying to sell the public on a product for which demand is stagnant, even with government trying to stack the deck with incentives for consumers and manufacturers.
I am going to give up on nascar if they go electric. Nascar was born off of breaking the law and if they go to electric they can expect to see at a massive drop in viewers and sales because we all hate electric cars

If nascar goes electric, they will have officially lost their remaining balls. They’re barely hanging on as it is
I’m usually pretty progressive but EV NASCARs are not it. i’ll still keep watching but it just won’t be the same
The Chicago race was a hacked up disaster! Absolutely the worst race both times! Keep the street race, but go somewhere else where it can actually be a full race for once.
Guaranteed to always make the wrong moves NASCAR! EVs have been resoundingly dismissed by all and certainly by any of the few remaining NASCAR fans lol.
F electric cars!!!
I wonder if Kaitlyn Vincie and her husband were "OK" with Bowman breaking his back... racing sprint cars? Maybe unpopular opinion, but I think these guys' shouldn't be allowed to engage in high risk activities whilst under contract. Now, ppl will say the team owner is ok with it... which may be... but that's not to say that all the families who's livelihoods are at stake are ok with it. These drivers affect many other ppls lives besides their own, and getting seriously injured racing sprint cars, snowboarding, etc... I think... is just bad policy.
Yeah Rick Hendrick doesn't like his drivers racing other series but yet still allows them to race sprint Cars. Pfft
You have to wonder why the likes of “Just stop oil” and other climate activists are not blocking roads leading to major racing events, if ever there was an industry that has no measurable value for humanity it would be auto racing..I’m not anti racing by any means just seems odd they escape the ire of those groups.
That’s so true, but i’m glad they don’t. Most probably live in places they don’t even think about motorsports
worst race this year and electric cars will finish nascar
Here's what people need to understand:
For car makers, motorsports are a marketing opportunity, and for it to be worth their while, there has to be *some* correlation between what's on the race track and what's on the showroom floor. Electric cars are increasingly a thing, and just about every other motorsport in the world has, at the very least, dipped its toe in the electrification pool (IndyCar debuted a hybrid engine package this past weekend). Any motorsport that doesn't utilize electrification is some way runs the risk of becoming irrelevant, long term, especially if car makers decide the investment is no longer worth their while. If I had to guess, we're not looking at a future where the Cup Series is electric. What's more likely, I think, is that NASCAR creates a new series -- similar to how the FIA operates both Formula 1 and Formula E -- to get into the electric car racing game.
But sure, let's all be "anti-woke" and reactionary and whine about every little thing that's new, because apparently, we all want to be stuck in the 1980s for the rest of eternity. Gods forbid anything ever change, because then the Skoal spittin' and Bud drinkin' crowd would bellow their crusted-up lungs out. And they all everyone else snowflakes...
As if people watch Formula E. Maybe it's electric cars that are irrelevant.
Electric cars are not increasingly a rhing. The market has cratered. Manufacturers are backing off. They’re cost prohibitive without heavy subsidies. The power grid can’t handle EVs at scale. World production of batteries can’t come close to meeting a potential demand at scale.
EVs were yet another virtue signalling exercise by the democrats and as usually with those things, reality is setting back in
@@RyanGallager it is
@@j.d.cunegan302 I might be old, but at least I got to see America before it went to s**t. Oh, its" skoal" not shoal, and I don't drink. Woke to me means,,,,I woke up at 6:30 this morning. God bless and enjoy your day.🇺🇸
If you need to hear a gas engine while you watch a race, consider running your car in the garage with the door closed.
I have to disagree with Kevin's take on the future of electric NASCAR. Every change in cup cars has been met with uproar fromr fans, drivers and the media. Every generation has had growing pains and taken time to be embraced. Electric is the next logical step. I've been a fan for over 50 years so I am no newbie fan and know that it is inevitable that electric will take over as the vehicle on the sales floors of every manufacturer. NASCAR has always been tied to the win on Sunday sell on Monday relationship with the manufacturers. It has to embrace electric or end.
I'll agree most everything else Is petty but this will loose all the fans.
Nascar has not been win on Sunday, buy on Monday for a while. And it is not "inevitable" that electric cars will take over sales floors when manufacturers are cutting back on electric vehicle production lines and plants because they can't sell them. Electric has stagnated and the general public is not interested in them.
@@provicate4334 Oil is a finite resource and will run out. Electric with the advancement of the solid state battery is the future whether we want it to be or not.
