Exactly, there are definitely some I wouldn't recommend on here, but this list is honestly just made by someone that also doesn't like smaller vehicles lol
I have a 2022 and it applies to mine. They haven't fixed mine either! They sent me a recall notice but GM can't tell me if they can fix it in the next 10 years or ever. Wait till the warranty goes off and you have to pay over $30,000 to get a new one, if you can find one. GM lowered the price $10,000 on the 2022 models to try and sell them, but won't reimburse anyone who bought one before they lowered the price. At 8,000 miles the tie rods went out and other plastic parts broke and had to be replaced. I will never buy another GM product they still have all kinds of quality issues.
I was also a bit surprised to see the Leaf on the list - we have a 2016 SL (30 KWh) and it has been pretty solid. Had a few minor fit & finish issues at the beginning, one warranty issue with seat heater popping a fuse (which Nissan fixed on warranty), and one issue a year ago where the parking brake cable was seizing causing the rear passenger calliper to stick and overheat. Though we were well past warranty, Nissan Corp repaired it for free as goodwill since “that shouldn’t fail” so credit to them on that. 😃👍🏻. Usage wise, we are only at about 80k KM (50k miles) and have 10/12 capacity bars on the battery, though I am expecting another to fall soon as we have been at 10 for a long time. Our battery warranty is up in Feb 2024, so I am really hoping we drop 2 more bars in the next 16-17 months and score a new battery from Nissan. 😉🤞🏻 Mileage is low since the Leaf is our 2nd car (and 2 years of pandemic and WFH…), and >99% of our charging is done at home on our L2, and is perfect for this use (commuting, running kids around, shopping, etc). Our other car is a plug in Prius which we use for travelling, and also benefits from the L2, as electricity is far less expensive than gas where I am in Canada. 😉 No complaints here. 🙂
My Bolt EV is one of the best cars I have ever owned in my life. I would not want to do a long road trip on this car because of charging capabilities. It is very good for my purposes and I got a great deal on it. 10-12 cars out of 140,000 burning up is very good odds to me but I have the new battery pack and I got about 21 miles more on the new battery pack. The Bolt EV is still a great car in my opinion.
As a long-time LEAF driver and owner of a 2022 62kWh model, I'm not sure why you don't like the LEAF. So far as range, you get what you pay for, and I think the 62 kWh battery is great for use as an everyday driver. NO EV is great for road trips; right now ICE always wins that battle. So for the occasional road trip, I rent a conventional car. If you don't like the LEAF's performance, you must hate all ICE cars, because it is still a step up from almost any ICE car. The LEAF's performance is outstanding for all normal driving. There is small negative to the LEAF which you do not mention; it uses Chademo, which will eventually be phased out in North America in favor of CCS. But, they are still building new Chademo charging stations in the US. And if, in your normal pattern of usage, you find yourself fast-charging very often, an EV (from any manufacturer) is probably not right for you anyway. The huge positive to the LEAF is that its battery pack is much safer than most EVs. Have you ever heard of a LEAF fire started by its battery pack? What I perceive is that you are a victim of "specsmanship". That is, you are judging EVs by unimportant specifications. So far as I am concerned, it is highly unimportant how the LEAF's 0-60 time compares to other EVs, because all EVs far exceed what you use during normal, safe driving. It is not so important to compare fast charging times because all EVs suck compared to ICE; if you have to fast charge often the you should use ICE.
You should do a video on how long the batteries last and what does it cost to replace the battery. I understand it is crazy expensive, so much for savings from not buying gas.
You had to keep Tesla in your list. Not a bad car but not as good as advertised. Got a series S ( not plate) and sold it quickly after purchase. Too many imperfections on the assembly. Not as good materials for the price... the list go on..
The Bolt EUV is a good EV. For 2023, GM is dropping the price to $28,000 minus incentives from the new Biden law. It could end up costing under $20,000. I think GM was pretty straightforward about replacing the batteries and backing it up with warranty.
@@yili9725 The active battery cooling is good, the earlier models needed some upgrades which are in effect at a lower price while owners are generally happy.
I am no fan of Chevy, but the Bolt and Bolt EUV should not be on this list. I know a woman who has a 1st-gen Bolt. She loves it. Even though the battery recall and GM's actions were bad, one good thing is that the replacement battery has greater range. The BMW i3 was also a loved vehicle, although repairs after warranty are very expensive. Mistubishi i-MiEV, nearly universally hated, should be on this list. Also, Smart EV, Ford Focus EV, and Chevy Spark EV are all arguably worse than most of the vehicles on this list.

Well heck, those are all the affordable EVs. What is left on the affordable category?? By that I mean less than $40K. At these rate... EVs will just become toys for the upper middle class and above. I guess the rest of us will just continue burning gas then....
I would say that is often true of Tesla. For $12K extra, they will sell you an autonomous vehicle which would be failed by almost any driving examiner. IMHO this makes the Tesla LESS safe. As the owner of a 2012 and now a 2022 Nissan LEAF, I would call their process "evolution". Were drivers in the 1960s beta testers because their cars did not have seat belts or engine computers? My 2022 has automatic braking to avoid front end collisions, which my 2012 did not have, because Nissan has evolved over the past 10 years.
Umm, electrical? Or did you mean electric? I am NEVER giving up electrical - lighting, sound system, heat, AC, not having to hand crank to start it up…. Thank goodness for electrical vehicles.
I'm not a hater of EV vehicles but I do love my HD 3500 diesel Silverado. 👍😁
I am, love my diesel.
The bolt recall doesn't apply to new ones. They already got the fixed battery
16 caught on fire. If anything it shows good will of GM.

@@TandyTerrison the issue is with LG batteries. Hyundai also uses LG batteries. Now the new battery should meet safety standard.
Doesn’t apply to old ones either - brand new battery pack and a brand new 8 year warranty.

Agreed except for the Nissan Leaf, probably the most reliable
