I remember my chemistry teacher told us just this year that climate change “won’t affect our oceans” and he used a glass of ice water as an example, saying that as the ice melts the water doesn’t gain volume, completely ignoring the fact that ice is also on land...I’m being taught by a moron
Evan Bubnick how dose your CHEMISTRY teacher not know what climate change dose? In fact oceans are probably being more effected by climate change than land is.
Skid Row al gore got called for wasting electricity, leaving all the lights on in his mansion, ,said he corrected that by buying carbon credits,,how bogus
@fleetlordavtar Bro.. Chill, Your Still in second grade your too young to judge give your mom's phone back. Plus people never predicted the weather, they use machines to see the next day's weather. and this video is totally honest
Yea! Because CO2 is so good for plants wich is why it's killing our planet that is made our of plant! But thanking for yourself is not good so I just mindlessly listed to the media
I'm a geologist and an environmental scientist; and the rocks do show that the climate is constantly changing. Conducting investigations I read ancient texts and again there's evidence of climate change throughout history. However, when you look at the data from the past 50 years, there's a deviation from the normal progression, other than projected natural causes, and there's also an increase in CO2 into the atmosphere. Some of this can come from nature; but the human factor has also contributed to this increase. Remember how CFCs impacted the ozone layer. And remember how lead in gasoline impacted the environment. And let's not forget DDT.
They stopped using lead in pretty much everything altogether at some point, right? And yes many people just think that because the temperature is cooler than last year that the whole theory must be bogus.

And remember when the polar ice caps were supposed to have melted completely by 2013. 2014 was the coldest winter on record and 2018 is shaping up to be the same. It is now mid April and we are just starting to get mid march weather. Global warming is a myth and climate change has been occurring naturally for over 4 billion years.
Hello there "geologist & environmental scientist" and who owns you? the weather and climate is engineered and manipulated it has been for 7 decades and never more then the last 3 decades, before you were born I imagine. It's not brain surgery buddy.
I'm kinda from a scientific background myself (applied science so maybe it doesn't count). I learnt about greenhouse gases, ozone etc in school so I completely understand that. I find myself watching videos like this one and it makes sense that we contribute given what I was taught about the effects of pollution. What I never see however, is the degree to which human activity is causing this global phenomenon. Is that something you would know about and can comment on?
You mean let's not forget how banning DDT killed millions of poor people in other countries while here in America where we used tons of it and are safer from Malaria because of it... yea let's not forget that.
@B C you don’t judge someone because of their background you judge them because of what they are saying, background only makes you more credible and have a higher chance of saying something that’s right, not having a particularly credible background doesn’t mean you’re “INSTANTLY WRONG”
+Chris Cunningham Those who determine that there is more to the equation then just carbon, such as things like deforestation (human caused) and desertification (human caused) playing an equal part or a more substantial part will argue this video is not enough. Why is the world only worried about carbon a lone. Oh yeah because the people like Al Gore can get filthy rich talking it. And fyi, to get a better picture of the climate, look at the the graphs that start from 0 not the ones that are truncated that everyone likes to use. That's a Fox news tactic. Since when did the people worried about the climate become like fox news? Oh the Irony. And of course there is ZERO mention of sun spots and how those effect the climate. Only the Earth's Orbit and human contribution to green house gases is mentioned.....sad
invisibleaznDJ Admittedly, I'm no climate scientist. And even if it's all over-dramatized... I still see nothing wrong with curbing the expulsion of CO2, etc. into our atmosphere. Venus has been described as global warming gone loco... it's basic chemistry, that CO2 traps heat, etc. and since we keep pumping it into our atmosphere, while we've cut down most of the planet's forests... according to the World Resources Institute, more than 80% of the Earth's natural forests already have been destroyed. Up to 90% of West Africa's coastal rain forests have disappeared since 1900. Trees that soak up CO2 and release oxygen... our current preliminary CO2 level as of October averaged 398.29 ppm... it was just under 320 ppm in 1960. The upper safety limit for atmospheric CO2 is 350 parts per million. Atmospheric CO2 levels have stayed higher than 350 ppm since early 1988. Furthermore, I see nothing wrong with developing clean energy that doesn't pollute our environment... I mean, I think it'd be simple logic to people, but I guess not.
What's sad is that you must bring up such points in a condescending manner which exacerbates the climate change denial issue. Please, if you care about this crisis and your home, don't denounce it, but encourage further discussion on more facts that were not covered.
***** You are making my point as you got me completely wrong. I'm not down playing human's carbon contribution. I'm not disagreeing, I am saying this video is not enough. Please re-read in FULL my last comment. Face palm. Just cause I;m not on your team 100% doesn't mean I am automatically on the other team. Not disagreeing with you in the slightest bit about clean renewal energy 1 bit. I am saying kick that up an notch and take it in your own hands instead of waiting for politicians to do it for you. I am saying people need to get off their asses and actually start doing something such as become solar adopters. It was a sacrifice for sure, but we made the leap years back.what I am saying is saving the planet is not a high enough priority for people who are only worried about carbon and have no emphasis on the other factors that are human caused. I want people to broaden their scope BEYOND carbon alone as that is only 1 factor of the puzzle. If we have no more trees left, and everything has turned into a dessert, we are going to have some extreme climate change.
+nick enders he is a carbon guy. only 1 part of the problem. Deforestation and desertification (both human caused) doesn';t even come into his argument...... sad....Agriculture fits into desertification. And you are right, that is a HUGE part of the problem. People don't get rich off saving the planet. Being worried about carbon alone doesn't save the planet. But it does make the people who set up the carbon tax infrastructure extremely rich.
+nick enders Methane emissions are more localized and don't distribute in the atmosphere, so they aren't that significant of a contributor to increased greenhouse effect. They do contribute, just not as much as CO2 in the scope of the whole planet.
Furyhunter Its not just methane...The climate change puzzle has MANY pieces beyond just CO2, and all of them important. And no I am not down playing humans contribution to C02 at all. For some reason if I don't say that people automatically think I am some kind of "climate change denier" which I am not. TO build farms we need clear lots of land in many cases. That contributes to deforestation. And as we all know, trees inhale C02. I don;t think anyone needs a degree to put 2 and 2 together there. Plus the way we treat the land in many countries contributes to desertification. Google Ted Talks 40000 Elephants. Desertification makes the land unsuitable for any life. Cows and other animals we eat were meant to roam in a heard, not be compacted into farm lands which destroys the land. Plants don't grow well in desserts. We are brewing a perfect storm of climate disaster and people need to wake up and realize that all the pieces are significant and require our attention. Not just C02 and green house gasses. And we already have the solutions to make our C02 contributions more neutral. Its just that people are unwilling to make the sacrifices to get there. They'd rather vote for sociopaths with broken promises.
today my earth science professor was explaining how if we got rid of fossil fuels, our electricity bills will increase immensely; i agree that this is true but i think the future of our planet is a bit more important. Something like an increase in prices, is nothing compared to the affects of climate change. This is a serious problem and we must do something now before its too late.
"Eating a vegan diet could be the “single biggest way” to reduce your environmental impact on earth, a new study suggests. Researchers at the University of Oxford found that cutting meat and dairy products from your diet could reduce an individual's carbon footprint from food by up to 73 per cent.Sep 24, 2020" Link to the study on my channel under "About."
If there are no people around to use electricity then there will be no people to bill 🤷♀️ saving climate change and changing our views from being the top of it all to being one with it all. Instead of constantly taking we must give equally. Unfortunately humans are extremely greedy right now and fake news is destroying our chances of survival...

@@marks7386 More CO2 DOES make plants grow faster in a greenhouse in the short run, but on a global level it has catastrophic long-term ripple effects--including for crops and forests and the oceans. As I taught one of my classes recently, the long-term harmful effects of rapidly adding much more CO2 include global warming of the land, atmosphere, and especially oceans; rapid and accelerating melting of the Earth’s ice sheets and glaciers, rising sea levels (very slow at first but increasingly catastrophic), growing shortages of freshwater for drinking and irrigation affecting billions of people, more intense droughts, floods, and wildfires; and more air pollution and related human health problems due to more intense forest fires. The overly-optimistic folks who claim that global greening from more CO2 apparently don’t know that with the greening, weeds tend to really benefit, and with the warming you get more harm to crops and forests from insects, fungi, and disease; grain crops have already lost 5-8% or more of key nutrients due to more CO2 and will continue to lose more, and the amount of sugars in grain crops will continue to rise. Lower nutrient content and higher sugar content in our foods just feeds the crisis of obesity and related diseases, driving up health care costs further. Also, more CO2 means plants will grow thicker leaves and need more water due to increased CO2 (this will intensify water shortages as 70-80% of freshwater is used for agriculture/food production). The more intense droughts and floods creates problems for many farmers, and the range where certain crops can be grown efficiently has moved towards the poles by 100 miles or more already: Unfortunately, there is less land near the poles than in the fatter middle of the Earth, and the land up there often hasn’t had time or opportunity (permafrost) to develop really rich topsoil. Thus, while more CO2 can increase crop growth at first, as warming and all the other ripple effects kick in, crops get more stressed and struggle: Thus, a recent study expects 60% of the global wheat crop to be threatened by 2100. More CO2 and the warming it causes also means the spread of human disease as the “tropics” and its mosquito-borne diseases expand by 30 miles a decade, while melting permafrost has unleased other diseases long-frozen in the ice (e.g., anthrax). Then there’s the warming-caused mass die-offs of coral reefs and the fish and other aquatic life that depend on them, the increasing drying of America from west to east, the slowing of ocean currents with ripple effects for climate (already beginning) and increasing the size of dead zones in the ocean, the collapse of ecosystems on land (permafrost region, drying of the Amazon) and sea (decline/collapse of coral reefs and fish populations, polar ecosystem heading for collapse as “cold-enough” areas disappear), sea snails at the bottom of the food chain having their shells dissolve at much higher rates because of the more acidic oceans, other shellfish having a harder time building shells, and thus being 30-50% smaller than normal), almost all green sea turtles are now being born female (because gender is regulated by the temperature of the sand at that time of year). More CO2 rapid die-offs of species related to the above-including the disappearance of 40% of the plankton population since the 1950s, increasing crop failures due to the above, increasingly-worsening refugees crises due to the above, increasingly staggering mitigation and repair costs due to the above, and increasing political and social instability and violence and resource conflicts/wars (already happening) due to all of the above. The chain reactions are vastly worse than you have ever been told-truly catastrophic in the long run, leading (if we don’t take rapid action) to the collapse of ecosystems, our food supply, and our civilization and population. I don’t know, but I do know that very few scientists know all of these destructively cascading ripple effects because most don’t read much outside of their specialty. P.S. I didn’t even include all of those ripple effects. So, if you are watching videos and reading on websites that “Hey, more CO2 is great-it’s plant food,” I want to know why aren’t these folks aren’t telling you the WHOLE story? Why are they only telling you about 1% of the changes rapidly increasing CO2 levels will cause, and leaving out the other 99%. Is it because they don’t know the whole story? That may be understandable-I only know all this because I’ve been researching for more than 10 years on a book about what we need to do to protect and heal society and the planet. However, some of these harms have been well-publicized, so if these people are scientifically literate, they should know about them. Another possibility regarding some of the site/sources that gleefully declare “CO2 is plant food!” is that they are PAID to spread propaganda like pretending more CO2 is all good news. After all, the fossil fuels companies have been spending $200 million or more a year to spread propaganda to confuse people, and they may have funded the folks that provided some of the information you heard. Take care.

just because it is mostly doesn't mean that some of the carbon dioxide doesn't escape. after all, what do you think happens to the waste products produced?
He didn't talk that much about eating less meat. If what some new research papers suggest is true, the consumption of "resource-intensive western diets" is one of the main causes.
It's actually very hard to talk about the meat industry's release of greenhouse gases because of the power they hold. People have gotten killed trying to get the word out. I was just surprised Bill even mentioned it in the slightest because of the serious backlash he would get.

There are many examples of this.>Astrophysicist Dr. S. Fred Singer’s masterful analysis decisively shows that the pessimistic, and often alarming, global warming scenarios depicted in the media have no scientific basis. In fact, he finds that many aspects of increased CO2 levels as well as any modest warming, such as a longer growing season for food and a reduced need to use fossil fuels for heating, would have a highly positive impact on the human race.
They said 30 years ago we'll all be died from climate change in 10 years they have been calling wolf for 30 years and people still refuse to question them
The space will be exactly the same. The Earth isn't shrinking. And no, these places will not be uninhabitable. Most of the Earth is entirely unpopulated and it'd take about 1000 years of steady population growth to fill those parts, and even then we'd still have land left to expand.
I love that he the pictures show a nuclear reactor with steam coming, but then the chart doesn't mention the most abundant greenhouse gas, water vapor. Good job science guy.
quick tip if you still want to eat meat, dont eat beef, beef has a calorie ratio of 25:1, which means 1 calorie is 25 calories of veges, 25 times. chicken and pork is way lower. about 4.5 ratio for chickens and something similar for pork
no, we get lots of nutrients from meat and your body is made to eat meat _and_ veggies/fruits so do just that, eat both, feeling hippyish(i cant think of a word so that is what a i came up with)? sure go ahead eat a bunch of fruits and veggies but you shouldn't cut out meat all together
Despite it being true that meat is full of nutrients and protein, it is a FACT that the biggest contributor to global change is the animal agriculture. So, unless you want yourself to suffer - and the future generations - cutting meat out of our diet is the best solution to prevent, or at least slow down, climate change. After all, all the nutrients that are found in meat, are also found in plants. Not only is it a better solution for our planet, but also for the animals´welfare - because they too, just like us, do feel pain, emotions and a have the right to live.
@@idontgiveafaboutyou that is true. the point of being vegi for climate related reasons, is that the modern industry of producing large amounts of meat uses methods like flying the meat Which in turn emits a LOT of green house gases. And the modern methods started not long ago
This is what I spread about climate change. It is not us the individual, its the part we cannot control as individuals that are damaging the environment. Only as a group who all decide to no longer accept certain practices that climate change will occur. I hate this kind of simplistic pandering: Recycling, instead of stop making tons of junk mail and useless packaging make more durable goods. Use less electricity, while every office has running AC and lighting in every empty office tower. While big coal and other non sustainables are in the pocket of politicians. Don't drive a car, when jet airlines are way more of a major polluter per passenger than efficient clean cars (-VW) Yes cows make a ton of CO2 but I can't eat chicken? Instead, I'll import some warm climate fruit that was trained, trucked, and flown to my grocery store.
I have been doing all of the things he said for almost fifty years, somebody isn't pulling their weight here or I am doing something wrong. Recycling is my specialty, have not bought a new car since 1978. Being a rancher, farmer and miner all my life, I feel like I did my share of walking, but never had the pleasure of public transportation. With the price of electricity these days, turning off electronics is automatic for most. Rich people don't care, but neither do I, I've had this off-grid solar system for years. I have cut out almost all between meal meat consumption***, but there is only so much you can do. Breakfast requires meat, only three things go with eggs; bacon, ham and steak. I have chickens and turkeys and all they lay are eggs. Lunch is almost always recycled leftovers so that is very good. For dinners I broke a long-standing family holiday tradition of having turkey, ham and brisket one year. Caused quite a stir with dad but to be honest I just didn't have a turkey worth butchering. Pretty sure I have grown more vegetables than Mr. Nye on a ratio of thousands to one so I'm real good there. No, this is a crisis, we need real action to stop anthropogenic global warming, the solutions are simple, and the USA could unilaterally start the process. Ban all air travel and war as a first step, this would be a massive reduction in carbon emissions. Then take the trillion dollars a year you were spending every year on the pentagon, FAA etc. and invest it in base load nuclear power plants.
I can't argue with your logic, you are right and banning war would be just as detrimental to the economy so we can't do that either. How can we possibly save ourselves from this rampant runaway anthropogenic global warming that is going to kill us all in a matter of what, months now? I have it, nuclear winter is our only option now. Wait a minute, looking around the world I may not have been the first one to think of this solution.@@hotdogman8271
People say that climate change isn’t real but yet this is consistently happening. This would explain the winter storms that came to Texas just recently
I was looking into air composition today and I've noticed that most sources for info put our atmosphere carbon dioxide content at somewhere between 0.053% and 0.047%. Not a huge disparity in total percentage, yet it seems significantly different to me. Are the differences reflective of when these measurements were taken, which years I mean? Just trying to wrap my head around the idea that maybe this is an indicator of CO2 buildup between earlier measurements and current ones, or if this is just indicative of a margin for error. Also, is it known if there would be a "perfect" percentage of CO2 in our atmosphere to stabilize or make global warming more manageable?
This is the question I have. They say we are raising CO2 levels in the atmosphere but they never say by how much. If it was .047% and now it is higher then how much higher? Is it .048% now? Why cant they provide this simple information. If they cant tell us how are they so certain?
@@donsheckler127 Actually its about five parts per million a year which is equal to 36 gegatons of carbon dioxide, or thirty six billion tons. In the year 1850 before the prolific coal burning, gasoline burning, natural gas, etc., the carbon dioxide level as only 280ppm. 420ppm minus 280 is 140ppm. 36 gegtons times 140 is one trillion tons of carbon dioxide emitted by humans. This is probably faster than anytime in Earth's 4.5 billion year history, not counting the giant impact hypothesis. The global temperatures are also rising faster than any time in history which is why scientists are worried about mass extinctions and crop failures.
@@bhstor0 In the early 1990's CO2 levels were at around 380 ppm. Now they are closer to 480 ppm. What many don't fully understand is that at 1,000 ppm, us humans will get sick and tired... literally. The more CO2, the less oxygen.
Lemmy Fuque what's funny is that 97% of the scientific community has accepted the facts on climate change or as you would probably refer to as "fake news", they don't make money off investing money into saving the environment, however all the massive fossil fuel companies like exxon are stuffing their pockets with money from people like you, and its very hypocritical saying how everyone that has accepted the facts that we are the main cause of climate change is just a brainwashed liberal when you are just a brainwashed conservative, and maybe you never stopped and thought, maybe its not liberals who are brainwashed but maybe its you, a great tactic for people to convince others that they are right is simply by saying everyone who disagrees is brainwashed, which is exactly how many conservatives think, they deny science and its just sad to see how clueless so many of them are.
Lemmy Fuque Al Gore is one person, regardless of what he says the proof is still there, and there are many other scientists who are proving the facts over and over, now you think this is a tax dollar scam maybe you should know that the PRIVATE research facilities are not gaining anything from this, they are putting money from their own pockets to try to open the eyes of skeptics and to try to solve the problem. Your political hacks and scams are just your right wing paranoia, no matter your stance on climate change, everyone will realize its happening because of human activity, because science always wins in the end, so go ahead and believe in your scams and political hacks, you and trump can go live off in your fairy land where the climate never changes.
People who refute climate change with "but it still snows" have no clue what climate is. Weather is what happens on one day. Climate is weather over long periods of time. Also, scientists are really concerned about how fast climate change is happening. It's never, in the history of earth, happened as fast as it is now. If it were happening slower, animals (including humans), insects, amphibians, ect. would have time to adapt to the different climate but because of how fast it's happening the world won't be able to.
I don't think anyone should deny that this is real. But at the same point in time, what in the fuck are we supposed to do about it? Every video I have ever seen about this spends 90% of the time talking about how doomed we are, and the. 5% at the end telling us things we can do that would amount to taking a grain of salt out of the ocean. I haven't heard a real, hardcore true solution yet that doesn't involve getting rid of cars and electricity.
+AbleAnderson switch from fossil fuels to clean energy like solar, wind, and geothermal. Reduce eating meat and have more of a plant based diet. Bill Gates recently just wrote a letter talking a little about this topic. He says we should switch to all clean energy by 2050. Not likely gonna happen. He says that because the carbon emmisions be created now, will hang around for a long time until it begins to die down in the future
SoLittleMuchGamer Yes: there is always something each individual can do. If we each reduce our carbon footprint, it will make some difference. It adds up - in either direction.
+AbleAnderson "what in the fuck are we supposed to do about it?" Well, we know the cause is primarily CO2 and the long term imbalance we've caused so the simple conclusion would be to reduce this effect to zero and work towards carbon sequestration tactics. "I haven't heard a real, hardcore true solution yet that doesn't involve getting rid of cars and electricity." Use sources of energy that don't use fossil fuels whether it's some form of renewable or nuclear like thorium, fusion or traditional, rely more on public transportation and transition towards electric cars. The truth is that it takes a long time for initial forcing to show how much it will really warm because it takes a while for the heat in the atmosphere to mix in the deep oceans which release more CO2, we'll still see some warming long after we stop all emissions because of this. The difference however is how much you would rather step on an accelerator when you know there's a wall ahead or if you would rather take your foot off the gas or apply the brakes instead. Business as usual would just be the accelerator.
Unfortunately, I believe most people who took the time to watch and listen to this video already believe in climate change. Those who don't believe in climate change wouldn't go out of their way to seek this kind of knowledge as they don't care about how ignorant they are.
They tested air bubbles trapped in ice/sediment at the time of high global temperatures and found it had very high levels of co2 and times of cold temp had very low co2. Based on this one could say high co2 levels mean high temps.
+justin van It's not a secret that one can trap carbon in a contained space and see the temp rise. Even many "climate change deniers" will admit this. But any ding dong knows that trees suck in carbon. but for some reason, deforestation is never mentioned in these "climate change"; videos. And there is never any mention of desertification. Also another human caused contributor to climate change. Some say worse then the carbon issue. We are cutting down trees like nobodies business, all sanctioned by the same governments we beg to save the planet. You cant make money saving the planet, thats just the truth of it. However there is TONS of money in setting up Carbon taxing infrastructures (private corporations) and selling those services to governments.
@@invisibleaznDJ Yea they don't mention desertification because CO2 is "greening the Earth", meaning deserts are turning into viable land, just the opposite of what they want you to believe. It's a global scam.
During The Late Ordovician Epoch we had 4000 PPM CO2 rising to 4300 PPM while temps fell for millions of years, dropping us deep into 1 of the 3 coldest ice ages in 600,000,000 years. CO2 and temps do not correlate most of the time. It's a scam.

"Climate change, as we know it, is characterized by an abrupt change in the Earth's temperature..." That sounds almost believable, except for this fact (which you can check for yourself): "The hottest air temperature ever recorded in Death Valley (Furnace Creek) was 134°F (57°C) on July 10, 1913. During the heat wave that peaked with that record, five consecutive days reached 129° F (54°C) or above." That was over 100 years ago, but they're still trying to tell us temperatures are going up??? Not in Death Valley, evidently.

Real question: Why is Jacob Maron so stupid and writing an idiotic comment under a video about the most tragic topic in modern world? Real answer: Well, if you change just one letter in his surname, you will get the answer.
that pie chart doesn't show greenhouse gas relative to "heat trapping" power where 10 % methane would be 35 to 70 times the power of co2. 10 times 35 = 350 compared to 82 . The chart doesn't show total atmospheric gasses. co2 = 400 compared to 999,600. Bill Nye the GLOBAL MELTDOWN GUY. co2 = 400

Naw you deserve this
I'm a geologist and an environmental scientist; and the rocks do show that the climate is constantly changing.

Awesome video. :) Unfortunately, those who are determined to act like the problem isn't us, aren't likely to be convinced by this video either.
MintMovies Well, that's just my thoughts based on many times trying to confer with people who deny climate change, etc.
I wish more people were open minded about global climate change.
You wanna solve the problem? Start by eating bugs.

+nick enders
YES PLEASE
(cowspiricy)

Researchers at the University of Oxford found that cutting meat and dairy products from your diet could reduce an individual's carbon footprint from food by up to 73 per cent.Sep 24, 2020"

Take care.
Literal Brainwashing by special interest groups. ExxonMobil, for instance, has donated over $20 million to anti-science conservative think tanks such as the Competitive Enterprise Institute, George C. Despite it being true that meat is full of nutrients and protein, it is a FACT that the biggest contributor to global change is the animal agriculture. So, unless you want yourself to suffer - and the future generations - cutting meat out of our diet is the best solution to prevent, or at least slow down, climate change.
Unfortunately if we banned all Air Travel at once, the US Economy would cripple and absolute utter chaos would erupt.
And you are doing all this because you were told it was true. Sad really
Doing all of what and what was I told was true? You lost me on this one, but I am sorry that you are sad.😟@@zackt4551
It is about 420 parts per million, which is about 0.042%.
@@bhstor0 About 2.3 ppm per year.
What many don't fully understand is that at 1,000 ppm, us humans will get sick and tired... literally. The more CO2, the less oxygen.
three words: humanity is fucked
That's just one aspect.
A.D.A.M exo probably just you
Lemmy Fuque >libtards will fall for anything
>says the guy who supports retarded conservative media outlets and politicians
ok
If it were happening slower, animals (including humans), insects, amphibians, ect. would have time to adapt to the different climate but because of how fast it's happening the world won't be able to.
i have prepared it for my declamation at zonal level
I don't think anyone should deny that this is real. But at the same point in time, what in the fuck are we supposed to do about it? Every video I have ever seen about this spends 90% of the time talking about how doomed we are, and the. 5% at the end telling us things we can do that would amount to taking a grain of salt out of the ocean. I haven't heard a real, hardcore true solution yet that doesn't involve getting rid of cars and electricity.
95%*
+AbleAnderson switch from fossil fuels to clean energy like solar, wind, and geothermal. Reduce eating meat and have more of a plant based diet. Bill Gates recently just wrote a letter talking a little about this topic. He says we should switch to all clean energy by 2050. Not likely gonna happen. He says that because the carbon emmisions be created now, will hang around for a long time until it begins to die down in the future
SoLittleMuchGamer Yes: there is always something each individual can do. If we each reduce our carbon footprint, it will make some difference. It adds up - in either direction.
+AbleAnderson
"what in the fuck are we supposed to do about it?"
Well, we know the cause is primarily CO2 and the long term imbalance we've caused so the simple conclusion would be to reduce this effect to zero and work towards carbon sequestration tactics.
"I haven't heard a real, hardcore true solution yet that doesn't involve getting rid of cars and electricity."
Use sources of energy that don't use fossil fuels whether it's some form of renewable or nuclear like thorium, fusion or traditional, rely more on public transportation and transition towards electric cars.
+garith21 Right on!
Unfortunately, I believe most people who took the time to watch and listen to this video already believe in climate change.
Those who don't believe in climate change wouldn't go out of their way to seek this kind of knowledge as they don't care about how ignorant they are.
Tom Berry facts
Stop listening to millionaires and billionaires who tell you to care about climate change while they have private jets.

You should look up Trump's choice for the the Chair for the Council of Environmental Quality (the biggest skeptic towards climate change) and her statements on climate change and other environmental factors.
This is bad. We might not survive this but if we don’t give up on Earth, there is hope for Earth.
what are you saying??
"Climate change, as we know it, is characterized by an abrupt change in the Earth's temperature..."
That sounds almost believable, except for this fact (which you can check for yourself):
"The hottest air temperature ever recorded in Death Valley (Furnace Creek) was 134°F (57°C) on July 10, 1913. During the heat wave that peaked with that record, five consecutive days reached 129° F (54°C) or above."

that pie chart doesn't show greenhouse gas relative to "heat trapping" power where 10 % methane would be 35 to 70 times the power of co2. 10 times 35 = 350 compared to 82 .
