This is a really great review! A proper chin augmentation can bring so much harmony to someone's face and I love that you highlighted the importance of assessing the chin from all angles to ensure that the treatment is truly enhancing someone's features and not just altering them.

Hi Dr. Pearce! I have been injecting for 18 years and find your videos fabulous. One thing about the chin I have found to be frustrating when delivering product supraperiosteal is that the result will look lovely right away for the initial before and afters, however 6 weeks later a good percentage of result has evaporated. I believe the cause is the mentalis muscle pushing back and flattening the filler. I have started to changed my technique to "sandwiching" the muscle by laying some on the bone and then coming through with a cannula to lay another layer subq. This helps, but then I do get concerned about the possibility of a compression occlusion, although I haven't ever seen this event. Also I have seen the results look beautifully symmetrical initially only to show up asymmetrical several months down the road, I assume from muscle movement displacing filler location. What do you think?
I agree- and 'the bigger they are, the harder they fall', so large augmentations are probably least stable. I do think a lot of the bony projection points fade, and people do lean on chins as well as the muscle activity. It does make sense to run product through different layers, these are the sorts of things only a long period of experience with careful observation can help with. Great comment. I have also found both needle directly on the bone and a cannula into the sub q delivers the best and most immediate rewards. I have not seen any asymmetrical results later down the road yet but can see that being a possibility.
If you think the mentalis is compressing the filler why not try botoxing it to test if it lasts longer

Great video! Could you make a video about Can Radiesse stimulate your bone growth, as rediese is made of calcium hydroxylapatite. Although on Google someone says it won’t change since it’s only in the fatty area, do you think will deeper injection using needle directly on to the chin bone make any difference?
And I wonder if how I could get chin filling appointment?

I would be extremely grateful to learn, if it is statistically safer to undertake surgery rather than use filler.
Are the complications you describe with regard to the safety areas the same with surgery or is the issue the filler.
Eg where the filler is placed and with surgery there wouldn't be this concern

there are videos and studies saying the fillers don't really disappear, with MRI scans showing fillers still being there after 10 years. It is a scary concept, what is it your opinion on it?

Hi new subscriber here :). I’m very interested in this procedure, but were always puts me off is filling faces is not always a good idea in the long run? And these fillers look initially, but what does your face look like in five or six years time? So my question would be when you fill the chin of a female you’re looking at the bottom round bit does that migrate along the jawbone? Because then that gives a masculine look. I got chin filler 2 months ago and my chin got paralyzed. I could not talk, or smile like I used to. We dissolved the filler and I still have a hard time to speak, & smile. Cant figure it out what happened. Any idea? Thank you

I treated a chin recently with Anti wrinkle, and 2 days later the client returned with a lump that was quite evident with “pouting” have you seen this before? As I haven’t! Waiting 2 weeks for it so settle currently
partialy treated mentalis muscle, on contraction the activated part creates a 'ledge' and can give a lump apperance; as with all toxin advice wait 14 days and top up if still some asymmetry or movement persists
Yes as B Soh has said. Wait the 2 weeks. It takes time for all the fibres to deactivate.

I had masseter botox last month and im almost 41. Now my jawline is gone, i have a double chin and jowls. Everything is falling forward. When if ever will my jawline come back to how it was before botox?
Just don’t get them injected again. This happened to me. No more masseter injections for me thanks

Hello, is there a Colleague you know who has similar ethics and experience as yours in Geneva or Paris or an area not far? Thank you for all your videos. I used to have one in Geneva who did chin botox really well when it was unpopular almost 15 years ago and I was super happy with the results but I feel I was lucky then because he's the type to just try out things and made me do this shred on the cheeks that I HATED. It gave me more volume on the cheeks and as a result more nasolabial lines and undereye hollow. I stopped seeing him after that. Due to that procedure alone 10 years ago my face shape has changed and never went back to how it was originally.

I desperatere want this to be done. I need projection and elongation because I have an overbite and a very flat chin. But the fact that blindness can occur scares me endlessly… can that occur with chin filler or only with nose filler ? Would be grateful for a response…

I feel like you guys get on here and make things more complicated than they actually are. I don’t think she’ll injections are really that complicated. I did my own and it came out beautifully.
With kindness- One procedure being ok, as judged by the person who did it is not evidence that it's not complicated.
To my mind it's evidence of a very small sample, a degree of luck and blissful ignorance.
If you do 10 000 you will find out along the way, many times, that this can go wrong in many different ways.
I sincerely hope this never happens to you ofcourse, but I even advise my own colleagues not to treat themselves.
Doing it DIY is great but not thinking it’s a big deal is the worst mistake you can make.

Yes, if I was to even consider filler I'd definitely want it bone deep, the safest place. But before I'd even consider filler, I'd patch test to be 100% it can be reversed. Can't you just lift and drag skin with botox?
Botox doesn’t work like that. It’s a muscle relaxant. Only muscles that lift is because they are being depressed subconsciously and relaxing them gives the “lift”.

@@DrTimPearce Yes, I'd prefer to relax my muscles with botox 💉😂 then lift ⏫️🏹 I'm already a huge risk of allergies 🤷♀️ So the alternative is thread lift 🪡 stitch me up upwards 💙 I really appreciate the reply and training 👍💘👍✌️🤗
