I love the Shrieks. This album is a huge grower. Oil and Gold is a complete masterpiece. Lyrically they are smarter than the average bear too. Somewhat refreshing in a world of banal pop.
Shrieckback made great 80s music with a little underground twist. Michael Mann loved this band and put a lot of his music in his movies like The band of the hand and manhunter.
this was the sound of a 1986 speed-ball, half cocaine, half heroin. Nothing like the idea of drowning in one's own mind to bring out the reptile in each of us.
If I remember the story correctly, Barry Andrews was involved in the production of the intro to Sopranos. He wrote the song, but the studio had their own guy re-record it and take credit. I believe there were legal issues involved and he isn't allowed to discuss it as part of the settlement. There is no way Barry wasn't involved with the intro theme to Sopranos.
@@MitchellRoboto Wow! That’s cool! I remember thinking the Soprano intro song was from one of Shriekback’s albums. Like it was a song that was already released and the Soprano’s used it as the intro. Interesting..
one of the 1986's best......!!!!
I First Heard This Song In 1987.. Today It Popped Into My Head😎. Great Day✌
Awesome, meeting them again, unique and fantastic group.
Absolutely beautiful music. Awesome!!!

2 BRILLIANT FILMS!!! My Favs! Many Thanks My Dear Friend!
One Word: MIAMI VICE! Acctually, two words:D
Miami Vice was so ahead of its time
Used in Manhunter too... Coleacanth, plus This Big Hush - a far superior film to the later Red Dragon.
@@MudtoyTT Miami Wice is N°1 new show
“Konck Knock Who’s there” episode when Linda meet Montoya by night and he arrives with the motorboat. Magic scene.

I heard it on Third Program of Polish Radio. That's really great song, but the group is completely unknown for me.
hey, you learn something new every day
I was about to watch the film Underwater with Kristen Stewart and I thinking of this song and now here I am
I remember thinking they were the one who did the Sopranos intro song. Interesting band.
I totally hear it too.

Vice squad miami brought me here...
Naughty song tisk tisk
Beautiful and eerie, but hinting at dark horrible realities - maybe🤮 like human trafficking by submarine
