I recently lost my father. He loved Miami Vice, and loved this song. I remember my dad being young, vibrant, cool, stylish, big and strong. He was my hero. 40 years later and I’m proud to say I’m just like my dad, I love this song.
Fantastic attribute to your dad mate. I loved my dad more than words he was may dad and my best friend were lucky we all had a fantastic father and friend. Stay strong 👍🏻
30 years of searching and finally managed to purchase the album.. awesome song from a great series!! All I need now is a white Testarossa and to move to Miami
The Ward Brothers. All the way from Sheffield in England to Miami Vice. This is the type of track you play in your car while driving around with a hot chick.
I used to watch Miami Vice in the 1980's but missed some episodes while traveling the world on business but I did spend a fair amount of time in Florida back then and now I live there. Some 15 years ago I bought the box set of the series and have watched them all twice. I've been searching for this track for ages on line and finally today I tracked it down. Like many of the haunting tracks played on MV like Phil Collins & One More Night this one is a close 2nd for a slow track IMO but that said we were spoiled by all the fantastic tracks on MV that's never been eclipsed on any movie or TV series.
I bought this album on casette from an Our Price record shop in London in 1987 for 50 pence. I got it becouse my dad used to play in a band with Graham Ward.. they were called Travis and released an album on A&m records in 1972. I wish I still had the casette.
Just heard this 2 days ago on a Miami vice episode where Crockett and sheena Easton newly married got into an argument and he left the house and went for a drive in the white testarossa. Incredible music usage in the show.
Driving down let the dice roll Destination no-one knows Somewhere in heaven through the pearly gates This one way ticket buys a empty space To see the sunshine or the madness of it all Vacant eyes gaze through the cracks Drying cups hung up on the rack Souvenirs for the Eastern Block We travelled first class in a metal box To see the sunshine or the madness of it all
Amazing song! This beautiful masterpiece takes me to another time another place..away from all that's happening now in the world. Please be safe every body..my true wishes to the world. Wear your masks everyone ..it WILL be over!
if anyone out of the band is out there, it would be great to hear from them! Maybe give some more info on the band, as its very hard to find any on the web.
I feel that way to whenever i hear this song. Miami Vice is one my all time favorite television shows and in the 1980's my dad watched it all the time on NBC. The episode that this song appears in, is one of my favorites.
That's interesting. What brought me here was finally identifying this song as it was used in one of my favorite (and hard to find) cult movies... Riders of the Storm 1986 (Dennis Hopper and Michael J. Pollard). In the movie it used as a back-drop to a "russian-roulette" scene. Very nice atmospheric song.
I have their album on CD. I was involved in its recording, at Battery Studios in London. The boys were from Yorkshire, and of course had the broadest Yorkshire accents! :-)
Nice story!! Could you please tell me where can I find this album in lossless format? I mean, where can I buy it. It seems out of print, even digitally.
When I first heard this song I thought it was a song from Cock Robin the song structure and lead vocals very similar to Peter Kimberry Cock Robin front man. Instant classic song.
Almost talking & not singing on a Music background that slowly accompanies the voice, but,it is right how this song should have been composed...we just like it this way 💕💖

I'm afraid I can't remember as it was too long ago! I was only there at the mixing stage, with recording engineer Steve Power. I do remember that it was an early digital multitrack recording, using a Sony PCM-3324 digital multi-track recorder, which used to cost as much as a house, but can now be bought second hand for less than $1000...
@mugabesunny: I listened to the couple of them and yes, I must admit they play pretty good pop. It's a pity that there is no CD of Ward Brothers available on Amazon.
Oh my fucking God. Just watched MIAMI VICE. The one where IMAN is going on dates with men and castrating them. Crockett rides in the night after fighting with his wife (Sheena Easton) and this song plays away as he mediates. And Jesus, what an incredible song!
I recently lost my father. He loved Miami Vice, and loved this song. I remember my dad being young, vibrant, cool, stylish, big and strong. He was my hero. 40 years later and I’m proud to say I’m just like my dad, I love this song.

The song brings back wonderful memories of the 80s and Miami Vice. I can’t believe it’s been 40 years since that show debuted. 💕
Spotify needs to add this song to their library so I can complete my Miami Vice soundtrack Playlist
Absolutely.
How do we get them to do that?
@@wayneatplayIt's a rights thing, the label/artist has to allow it.
That’s why I’m here 😂
Shazam too !

Wonderful song! Thank you Miami Vice, you brought me here!❤❤❤
The Ward Brothers. All the way from Sheffield in England to Miami Vice. This is the type of track you play in your car while driving around with a hot chick.
The Ward Brothers are from Barnsley not Sheffield!
Distance is 17 miles but to an American that's nothing!
@@tumslucks9781Easy there tiger. Wasn't that serious 🎉😂

Fantastic song... I remember a scene of Miami Vice...
Gosh, nearly 40 years loving Miami Vice, it just does not get old to me, or maybe it somewhat does, yet somehow it's eternal at the same time.
Great Song Great Sound i heard this Song 1 year ago for the First time . And now i listen to it nearly every week thanks for this Song
This song gives me a very weird feeling about the past deep in my heart, I don't like it but I love feeling it for some reason.

Same here, fine song; Mann seemd to have a knack, for finding underground talent.
You should have heard the demo when they were called Attic Voices. Blows the album apart. Best band that never were.
