A very good break from the monotony that is Volkswagen. Really characterful design/interior.
Was looking round one of these cars in the VW showroom. They look far nicer than they do in photographs.

The rear kind of resembles the W205 C class Coupé. (At least from the top down drone view at the start).
You should take these 2 cars to Laguna Seca in Monterrey, California and race them against each other. A friendly race... Would be a great review. Tommy Kendall (invite him to be a part of it) had his show there a few years back. Great TV and you learned a lot about the two automobiles.

The front frame looks like the Talisman
Read quarter looks like a car version of the Merc GL coupes. No really feeling the horizontal lines in the grill VW has been using. The car still look rich overall though.
i feel the front part of the car had to be slightly longer, better alternative to a skoda superb or an audi a6
took your advice bought vw passat and happy with it, but the option list so huge it doubles price so easily ,with this car im curious if it triples the price tag :O

These look much better in natural light than under the studio lights
In my opinion, most cars look better under natural sunlight rather than studio lights. The only ones that look good in studio lights are concept cars.

if they put the 1.5 tsi evo engine in this car, it will become a technology landmark on the segment
Currently the 1.5TSI Elegance model can be leased for around £160 a month in the UK, absolute Bargain
maybe its just me but i like the first cc better the curvier simple design
this in all honesty seem a little off with that grill and headlights
maybe it will grow but for now its a naw
Thank you for showing us the Arteon. I am a little dissapointed with the interior. It looks bland and the leather seats could have looked more comfortable with more color options. No V6 R-line?
I have been thinking about getting a new car and the Arteon is on the list. Pricing needs to reasonable. I hope the Finance folks who set the price for the US version know that a base Audi A4 Quattro (with similar engine specs) goes for at least $40k. I hope a loaded Arteon does not cost as much.

The car looks ok...but that Dash looks pretty bad, it's dated...they should come up with a beautiful dash for their models.

wow, they took the drawing of the latest Passat, rubbered the straight lines, replaced them with some arc lines from Passat B6 (front grill etc.) and now tell us that this is something new with extra price . They must be joking :-D
the front is polarising. it looks like an afterthought. the rest of the car looks ok. interior is ok and looks like vw are making progress with autonomy. if they made the front more like audi a5 it would be a winning formula.
ozzycarnut sure make it bland and dull like the A5; I don’t see anyone literally stopping in their tracks to photograph/ walk around and google an A5, they sure do when I park my Arteon!

Great engineering but no soul and no style. So in conclusion one of the best ways to let everybody know - you have the money for a useless car and at least enough taste to avoid "Muttipanzer".

Yes, it's an (almost) perfect car.
But it's too cold and boring.
Yes, it's well designed.
But it's no piece of art like a Citroën DS.
Yes, it's well priced in comparison to a Mercedes E class.
But it's just a car and in relation to that much too expensive.
Yes, the design looks good on the first look.
But it doesn't on the second and third. No proportions, too many lines and details, too big.
Sorry Volkswagen, please concentrate on making excellent, environment friendly cars in the up!, Polo and Golf segment with
a good price performance ratio.

So it's still the Passat interior :( Really sad... Scary for the next Touareg too.

Thank you Autogefühl team for the preview. It looks like German designers are run off imagination in terms of exterior design. I'm almost wondering what have they tried to do? Japanese designers offer the best and innovative design.

Petar Aleric THE REAL problem in today automotive industry and market buyers are much more considering the car with the design criteria being on top 5 of the criteria they would buy a car.

What is wrong with bright alloys?
These grey wheels look like they're encrusted with brake dust and lessen the elegant look of this superbly designed car. The same goes for wretched black wheels; whoever thought that was a good look?
The wheels look pretty fine to me.
OldVillain well at least you don't need to do a lot of braking to cover them in dust yourself. My experience tells me that one has never enough time to wash the bright rims from brake dust and they anyway most of the time look like the ones in the video.
The gun metal grey wheels look fine, I’m often complimented on them by random onlookers.
Build quality is poor. Look at the body parts - they not fit well to each other. Especially front and back.
spk8989pl you’re talking absolute shit. My old car was a BMW 4 series, my Arteon has better build quality, better interior, exterior, more power, more tech, better safety, all-wheel drive and its bigger, not to mention cheaper.
