Received my Alinker this week. It’s a whole new lease in life for me after being hit by a truck 3 years ago. Be, I received my Alinker two days ago, and it is a life changer for me. After getting hit by a car 3 years ago, followed by hip replacement surgery, I have not been able to go for walks, and when I did, used a rollator. Now, I can move easily with NO leg and hip pain! And people now see me as “cool”, instead of an old lady hunched over her rollator. I am beyond grateful that you have made this contribution to the world at large, and my world.Blessings. Barbara Alink, Thank you for giving my life back! I just got my Alinker last Wednesday. The longest walk I have taken since my physical challenges hit was 2 blocks...today, I walked almost 2 miles and enjoyed the scenery! I had to take a lot of breaks, but the Alinker allows me to rest. Thank you for designing this bike! I am sorry for your loss with your mom. May she be blessed, you will miss her greatly and see her on the other side. Thank you Barbara and thank you for creating this bike for your Mum! Thank you!
I just received my Alinker through the rent to own program, and I am so inspired and touched by BE's vision for humanity. Dignity through movement! I've been angry for six years that my health and ability to move through the world has been diminished by autoimmune disease, but this is giving me hope again. I am telling anyone who will listen to watch this talk and think about how they consider ability/mobility.
Thank you Barbara. I would love to give you a hug. I hope you can visit Pittsburgh PA sometime. I am retiring in September and was looking at days of inactivity sitting in my recliner and not much else. This will make it possible for me to get outside and exercise my legs so that they won't atrophy. God bless you.
I cried through this...…FINALLY someone understands how we feel. Being unable to walk on ones own DOES make us invisible. My body is getting worse from inactivity and I know and feel it but with normal aids we are to just sit and ride or use a walker harming our backs and shoulders. I wish I could hug you Barbara for The understanding and care you have brought out about these issues so many of us face daily in this cruel world. I do not have money for one of these but I am going to do my best to figure something out, Right now I live as a hermit because I can not leave my home much due to my disabilities. I have MS and also back problems which make walking even with aids so painful I can not even go to a store anymore. I dream of something like this that would make it possible to go outside and go to a park with my son or go to a store and actually do my won shopping instead of always having others do it for me. I dream of just being a normal human being rather than that invisible being you blindly pass by. Thank you so much for seeing us.
They have fundraising campaigns on the website. You should start one so people can help you by donating or a go fund me. I think they also rent them but maybe depends on where you live. I don't have a disability but I am so inspired by this invention. If you start a fundraising campaign, let me know. I would love to donate to help you take some control over your disabilities.
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! After buying a trike I asked my PT if she knew of any devices like a trike that could bridge the gap between using a cane/walker to wheelchair. She did some searching and found the Alinker. Checking out the rent-to-own process, and I really excited to try this device! I think it would be fabulous for travelling!
This is the coolest health device I have ever seen and if this approach was adopted as the foundation of how all health care tools are designed, we could see so much good happen. Patients will be happier as would be providers of care to them! Think of how medical has come to mean the opposite of elegant and enjoyable. It's time we reclaimed these aspects because they are core to making life better. We need functional AND fun.
You, madam are sooo cool! Just like the Alinker! Thank you for mentioning CHARCOT MARIE TOOTH (CMT) As an elder, I still have dreams of running and feeling the breezes. Your invention makes my dreams seem possible. Keep inventing, you are genius.
When people see me with a cane, they ask what is wrong with me. I just tell them something snarky like a boxing match with a bear or my service in the Vietnam War (I'm 33). When people see me on my Alinker, they ask me where they can get one.
Way too much talk and insufficient product information: Saddle material leather? Just one size? Height adjustment range? Brake function for 1 or 2 wheels? Steel or carbon fiber frame? Weight? Foldable to carry? Ambitious pricing...$2000?

You are an inspiring, brilliant woman. Thank you for all you’ve done for the disabled community.

They have a very good rent to own program and a crowdfunding program as well. She wants everyone that can benefit from this to be able to get one.

Such a great talk BE!! Thank you for teaching us to look back at ourselves!

that is awesome Alexandra. Everybody should have access to cool vehicles that make them feel good indeed!
Yes! I agree! I'm not mobility impaired, but I would love to have one of these, too! Way cool!
Powerful! Thank you Barbara.
I have CMT, as do several family members... THANK YOU!!!!!
You are so amazing! Thank you for this.

Amazing idea. Wondering about braking system for downhill grades.
