The best city of Colombia! 👍
And it's getting better every day :) I am looking forward to returning!!!
Your video just popped up in my feed. As someone who frequents Colombia often, I totally agree with your summarization of Barranquilla. I love staying there. It is definitely a hidden gem.
It’s a great place! There’s a great expat community there as well.
@@TheGlobalProfessional yessir.....I'm slowly finding that out.
I'd love to visit Barranquilla someday.
It's a great place. Close to the US as well.
I loved your video about Barranquilla ❤ thank you
Your welcome, it’s a great place!
Great video information on Barranquilla the city I was born and live there till 7 years. Im going to Barranquilla in 3 weeks and staying at Alto Prado which is near Rio Mar
That's great! It's wonderful!
Thank you Andrew for lovely my city ❤️

Love this video, I also love the coast because of the rain.
Thank you, the Caribbean rain is no joke. Love it!
Thanks Andre for such an amazing and informative video of my gorgeous hometown.
It’s a great place! Thanks for watching!
Get out there and explore other areas in Colombia. You can always come back to Barranquilla.
When I think of Barranquilla, I think of a nice big town in the U.S. like Reno, Nashville, Colorado Springs, Indianapolis. Towns that have everything you need, but not the type of places you break your neck to get to unless there is a connection like family, school, or a job.
I plan on it. Especially now that lockdown is over!
JB Jay where are you from ?
Excellent content my Brother, you touched all bases and most importantly very tasteful...
Thank you!
Dre great video - shout out from Miami
Thank you! Miami! Amazing city.
Nice video
Close to making my move, hope to catch up to you by chance when I get there.

Great video man
Thanks! 🙏🏾
Great video brother. I definitely want to come check out the city. I plan on coming to colombia in December.
Great month to come, It will be a little cooler and Christmas is no joke here.
@@TheGlobalProfessional how is Christmas and New Years eve?
Your videos are always very interesting and well presented. When you travel will you have to take any special steps to make sure internet is stable enough to teach? I am living in Airbnb's and also work online. But my biggest concern about changing locations is always adequate connectivity. I am not big a big fan of shared work spaces either as I prefer privacy when I am working.
Thanks! That’s the biggest issue for many of us nowadays. I always read reviews on Air bnb and when I start to travel I’ll mostly be heading to larger cities. If I do go somewhere with unreliable wifi, I’ll call it a vacation. I want to go to San Andres, and I’m not even going to try and work there.
Great information videos. Barranquilla is cool because it’s mostly locals but Colombia is definitely big and there so many places. Please can you tell me What website do you use to find apartments in Colombia.
I use OLX to find apartments and furniture. I made a video about it...

Great intel bruh. I'm getting down there soon. Was supposed to be in cartegena bk in july but the pandemic screwed it up.. nevertheless, I'll be bk
Things are slowly opening back up.
great vid
Thank you! More to come.
Great video Andre what would you say are the differences between Barranquilla and Cartagena?
Barranquilla is borderline suburban compared to Cartagena. Price is the biggest difference. Cartagena is more expensive (the tourist area) but there is much more to do. There are way more tourists in Cartagena as well. I like both places actually. Cartagena video coming soon.
Any afro- Colombian culture center(s) to visit and support in Barranquilla?
Museo del Caribe, there are also some good ones in Cartagena.
@@TheGlobalProfessional Thanks for your response
I Feel! Right Now My Spirit Is In The Tropicals! I So Much Hate The US Right Now! Somethings Calling Me For Central Or South America! 💛🌼🍯🐝
Now is the time! ✈️ 🛥 🧳
How can you hate USA the country of opportunity, freedom and prosperity. Put things in perspective, there are over 100K people at border wishing or waiting to get in USA the country of opportunity, freedom and prosperity etc.
@ricosuave1x land of opportunity for who?????????????? like I said the USA Sucks! Don't Like What I Said Too Bad!
Home is where your feet step in !
Exactly! 🏖
Whats good sites to find places to rent long term, 6 months+. Not airbnb
Many people use Air Bnb, and then work out a deal with the landlord after a month or so.
Others use Facebook or Olx.

Hey Andre what is your schedule like at the university? How many hours a week typically and pre pandemic were you going on campus .... I assume you are learning Spanish there?
I was going about 5 days a week for 3 hours. I was in an intensive Spanish program. Unfortunately the program is now closed until 2021.
@@TheGlobalProfessional Is the spanish program back up and running now? How much did you learn? Is it done all in spanish? Cost?
It’s back! It cost about $300 - $600 depending on the program. I learned a lot and it was all in Spanish.
@@TheGlobalProfessional Thanks bro. Now did that price include room/board? That's in Barranquilla correct?
@@murdoch1717 It's in Barranquilla, but you have to rent your own place. It's not an accredited program. Apartments in Barranquilla are reasonable though.
Do you have to know a lot of Spanish to live there or are you okay getting by as a beginner?
The more Spanish you know the better. Hire a tutor on iTalki. You can get by, but you will enjoy yourself much more with more SPanish.
How do you get an apartment there. Which area of Barranquilla do you live in and how much does a 1-bedroom cost?
The north side is a great area to stay in. I made a video about it. ua-cam.com/video/Tx43lW_6Dhc/v-deo.html
Here’s how you can find apartments. ua-cam.com/video/lw0IvEg8dyo/v-deo.html
Is the humidity typically heavy like in Miami etc ?? What about air pollution??
It has the Miami feel. But it’s worse in Cartagena. The heat is intense, it’s all Caribbean weather. Air pollution isn’t a big issue, but if you are near a factory or cars, you can smell it.
@@TheGlobalProfessional Worse than Miami in the summer??? Must be the same in all the Central American coastal cities.....no thanks!! Head for the hills!!😊😊
@@dovygoodguy1296 Hahaha, Medellin and Bogota might be the places for you. Barranquilla is hitting 80F basically year round. Medellin has really good weather. It’s basically always Spring. Bogota is basically always Fall.
@@TheGlobalProfessional Except that there is a lot of air pollution.
@@dovygoodguy1296 That;s an issue with the valley. The pollution often gets trapped. That’s one of the reasons I like the coast. But when I lived in Barranquilla, I lived near some factories along the river, and sometimes i the morning it would smell terrible. Though I’m not sure if it was the river, pollution, or a mix. But you can avoid the pollution in any of these cities by picking an apartment in a good spot. Either away from factories (the coast) or at a higher altitude (Medellin).
How much did your rent cost?
I paid a few different prices. At one point I was paying $300, then $250, then a 3 bed and 3 bath for $450-500.
