  • The information I am providing is find out if Barranquilla is the best place to retirne in Colombia. But the truth is the only person who knows that will be you after you watch several of my videos.
Barranquilla Colombia is an increasingly popular destination for retirees, and for good reason. Here are just a few of the many reasons why Colombia is often considered one of the best places to retire in the world.
Low cost of living: One of the biggest draws of retiring in Colombia is the low cost of living. Compared to many other countries, housing, food, and transportation in Colombia are quite affordable. This means that retirees can often live comfortably on a fixed income, whether it's a pension or savings.
High quality healthcare: Colombia has a well-developed healthcare system, with both public and private options available. The country is home to several world-class hospitals and medical facilities, and many doctors and healthcare professionals are trained in the United States or Europe. For retirees who are concerned about access to quality healthcare, Colombia can be a great option.
Beautiful weather: Colombia's location near the equator means that it has a consistently warm and tropical climate, with plenty of sunshine year-round. This can be especially appealing to retirees who are looking to escape colder climates and enjoy an outdoor lifestyle.
Friendly people: Colombians are known for their warm and welcoming nature, and many retirees find it easy to make friends and connect with the local community. Additionally, many Colombians are bilingual, with English being widely spoken in cities and tourist areas.
Rich culture and history: Colombia has a rich and diverse cultural heritage, with influences from indigenous groups, Spanish colonizers, and African slaves. This cultural heritage is evident in everything from the country's food and music to its art and architecture. For retirees who are interested in history and culture, Colombia can be a fascinating place to explore.
Natural beauty: Colombia is home to some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in the world, including the Andes Mountains, the Amazon rainforest, and the Caribbean coast. Retirees who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, birdwatching, and beachcombing will find plenty to keep them busy in Colombia.
Ease of travel: Colombia has a well-developed transportation infrastructure, with modern airports and highways connecting major cities and tourist destinations. This makes it easy for retirees to travel around the country and explore different regions.
Stable economy and political system: Colombia has made significant strides in recent years in terms of economic development and political stability. The country is now considered one of the most stable and prosperous in the region, with a growing middle class and a relatively low crime rate.
Retirement incentives: Colombia has a number of retirement incentives in place to attract foreign retirees. For example, retirees can apply for a special visa that allows them to stay in the country for up to three years without working. Additionally, there are tax incentives available for retirees who bring in a certain level of income.
Active expat community: There is a thriving expat community in Colombia, particularly in cities like Medellin and Cartagena. Retirees who are looking to connect with other expats and share information about living in Colombia will find plenty of resources and support available.
Of course, retiring in any foreign country can have its challenges and drawbacks, and Colombia is no exception. For example, retirees may need to adjust to a new language and cultural norms, and may face logistical challenges when it comes to managing finances and healthcare. However, for those who are willing to take on these challenges, Colombia can be a wonderful place to retire and enjoy a rich and rewarding new chapter in life.

You will love both, do not leave out Panama, I have a video of that also. If your spanish is not that good, you will do better in Panama. you need to be fluent in spanish for Barranquilla and Cali.

It is a far slower pace than Medellin, but that comes with good points as well. The women of Barranquilla treat the men really well.

This area is very good for retirement. You can get a nice apartment for about $75,000-125,000 which includes swimming pool, garage, doorman, community room, playground and best of all monthly maintenance at about $100. The Buenavista Mall has everything and more including casino.

I totally agree, and if you want cheaper, they are building new projects right outside of this area.

Going to visit for the first time with some friends from Barranquilla from April 15 to 22. Just retired, and recently divorced after 28 years, and it is time to revise my NYC dancing that I left when I married my ex. Now can hit the gym, eat healthily, lose 30 lbs, and dance every weekend just like I used to do in NYC in the 80s and 90s. I hope to move there this summer if everything goes well. Thanks, Mundolori for these wonderful videos.

I completely agree with your reasons for not giving out the condo prices. The daily and even hourly change in the exchange rate changes the price in dollars, so a dollar based price would always be a snapshot of that moment only. I would, however, ask you to reconsider and give out the price in Colombian pesos, since that won't change. Pretty please?

Hi Jesus, it is completely different than in 2008. Prices have gone up quite a bit, and Colombians are more modernized, making it a different landscape for Expats. However, I feel it is a good choice to come and see it again.

mr. Lorio which city is more affordable cali or Barranquilla and do you plan on any group tours to barranquilla

    • @MundoIorio
      @MundoIorio  Рік тому +2

Statistically, Cali is cheaper on paper. With that said, once you know people here, it will be the same price for everything. Here is why, you will learn how to bob and weave around different product prices that may be higher more in one place or the other. Once you learn the land, the prices will be the same. It is more who you know, that makes the prices better in Colombia. Make friends, get to know the vendors learn where all the best deals are and you will love both places. Even if you have to drive a bit to get a deal, build a relationship with that vendor and grow your network.

It all depends on what you like. The weather is the same, however, Barranquilla has the breeze from the ocean all the time and it is quite refreshing. For food, the fish cocktails that are made in Barranquilla are out of this world and very economical. For Cali, if you are a red meat eater Cali is for you. If you like black girls Cali has the most to choose from. If you like Latinas with a flare of indigenous look with the long black hair and high cheek bones, Barranquilla is the place.
