  • This ukulele was sent to me by Enya; however, this video is not sponsored. Kaka is sister company of Enya that make higher end ukuleles... but is it worth your hard earned money? I love it, but what do the pros think? To find out if it's the one for you, I took it to an ukulele festival and had some pros test it out.
Watch and learn more about what makes the Concert Ukulele by Kaka stand our from the rest. I hope that it helps you make an educated decision about whether or not this Kaka Ukulele is worth your hard earned money.

I have this uke in the Tenor size and the blue color. Bought it four months ago after seeing the concert version here and on Bernadette's channel. I adore it! That fretboard is so smooth and comfy! I kept the D'addario Titaniums on it, because they have a twinkle to my ear that was part of what I fell in love with about this Enya. The sound is beautiful. It's my primary instrument. Wanted to thank you for posting this video, because hearing everyone's perspective really helped me to find an instrument that I love.

Thank you for what you do for folks like myself. Not that I could afford such a beautiful ukulele as this one. I learned on a saprano and am looking for a better concert size. I am 65 and disabled so I do most of my shopping on line. Can’t walk very far. So thanks to you and your friends I at least get an idea as to direction and price.

Last summer, Enya offered their HPL camp ukulele for $30 (full Enya package-gig bag, instrument, etc.) and I was able to get 14 of them...1 for me and 13 for our school music library to check out. Since then, I have also bought some “standard” laminate Enyas for family friends when they also went on a crazy sale ($20!). I haven’t seen those prices in some time.
I did have one close friend who bought an Enya HPL tenor and had issues with a warping neck...he actually donated it to our school, so I can attest to it (and this is the 2nd neck)...but none of the other Enyas I have purchased have shown this issue. I will say that Enya did everything they could to make the customer happy in this case.
The biggest “problem” with Enyas (sounds dramatic to say that) is that the strings are not loud, and they feel thinner than usual. I simply put Martin M600 strings on mine (fluorocarbons available just about everywhere) and the ukulele felt better to play and had more presence. I think this is what the fellow in the red shirt was saying about strings being too easy to “play through.”
And the name Kaka is just so unfortunate. Usually Enya has carried the higher end ukuleles-maybe Enya is changing that around.
Finally...thank you for the shout outs to the other channels and their reviews. That is very kind of you to do.

Yes it is fun, but I also see it as a huge responsibility. A brand is trusting you with its reputation, so I don't take it lightly. Also, my audience is depending upon me to make sure that I give them as much information as possible, and it's my responsibility to make sure that I tell the truth and give my honest opinion. If you find yourself in that situation, and I hope that you will soon, that you do your research, read and study as much as you can about tone wood, models, design details, etc. It will not only make you a smarter consumer, it will help you really give an educated review to your viewers. I hope that helps.

I have this model in blue; I purchased it after Ms B's review. I am not the least regretful- it is a lovely instrument, it is mellow (warm) rather than bright- but for my purposes that works quite well as I have different ukes that all have different voices and so depending upon what song I am playing or mood I wish to invoke, I have an instrument for it. I appreciate that you took the time to have many people try and review it! Can't say enough good things about it and I am pretty picky about my ukes!

Based on this review, I purchased the army’s EUC Mad Black ukulele and I love it. I used Low G strings to further emphasise the mellow tones. It is quieter than my other ukuleles but I personally prefer that it doesn’t drown out my voice when I sing. It’s extremely comfortable to play and I love it!!!

I have 2 enyas, my favourite is in the blue colour gloss you loved so much and its the EUC-M6 (the one with the cutaway) My other Enya is the carbon travel Uke which is fun to play but both Enyas are a joy to play and compared to other ukes I own are very easy on the fingers. I am still a beginner but own 4 ukeleles and 2 banjoleles. Yes I've seriously been bitten by the bug 🐛 😂. Love your videos, keep up the great work you do please. Love from bonnie Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 xx

Interesting that the brands Enya and Kaka belong to the same manufacturer. Under the brand Kaka there is a sopranino, which has the design of the Nova U except for the wooden top. It is available with different sound hole shapes, e.g. in the shape of a coffee cup. I would be interested in a presentation.

Good morning Katie....this is a gorgeous ukulele that you just unboxed. I have 2 Enya products. I don't understand why Enya uses different "alias" names. This Kaka name is the worst. It's a shame for this beautiful instrument because kaka has a different meaning to us Westerners. I just don't know if I'd spend my hard earned cash on a Kaka named ukulele....especially in this price range.
The 2 Enya products I have are 1) an Enya Concert size which is the EUC-X1 model. I love it for many reasons. The most important being, it can be disassembled for travel. I'm not sure that's the purpose of removing the fretboard from the body, but it's my purpose. It is more mellow sounding which works for me. The strings are thinner as you say but I love the sound. It's an excellent product. It has a slightly rounded fretboard making hard chording a bit easier for a beginner. I love the look of the slotted head as well. I'm very pleased with it. There are other sizes of this model which can be disassembled.
    2) I have a Hankey (Enya product) Tenor. I love it. It has the same strings, slotted head, mellow sound. The fretboard is NOT rounded but I find it easy to play. You cannot break it down for travel. I do find Enya products are very well made and presented. The packages come with excellent accessories. The cases are thick and awesome. I am a beginner ukster so my knowledge is limited but I love my Enya ukes. I purchased both on Amazon. They are reasonably priced and are playable right out of the box, with no setup required aside from tuning. I love the strings. Easy on my beginner fingers. I just can't get past the Kaka name. Is that stupid?? I'm way, way, far from age 16 but it makes me cringe and giggle.

Cordoba is great, and funny thing, I bought a $20 plastic instrument, and in the beginning was really hard to play, but now, it is not hard at all. I practice about 30 minutes to 4 hours a day. This is making me more confident. I still need a lot of practice, but both of my ukus are great! I don't recommend the plastic one for beginners because it is very frustrating not to hit the correct note. This is why I bought the Cordoba, very smooth, and the sound is great. I got myself a tenor, I am kind of tall, and I think it would look silly enough with a small guitar! LOL But, for those who want a great sound, the Cordoba is easy to play, and to manipulate. Bernadette always talk about the strings to be too high in some instruments, the plastic one, has a very high string in general, it takes a lot of efforts to be able to play in the beginning.

ENYA nova U concert was my 2nd uke 1st bein kala mahogany uke concert.
Then I went for andstill use like my daily driver the ENYA nova pro tenor in black its just amazing with low G very sustainy and warm and fills the room .
I have a blue guitar , and now I also have made purchases of
ENYA EUS soprano blue mahogany waiting for delivery
nd ENYA EUT MAD tenor the one in the video and I am here after the recommendations
Also I use YAMAHA electric guitar prior to this and well ukes are easy and feasible plus you can take a uke up the hill and have lovely time with friends guitars aren't that forgiving on a hike. UKEs are the best
Love from INDIA hope I ll start my own UKE channel and share the ukesomeness around the world.

I'm very interested in this instrument because of Bernadette's review...ahh the blue. Blue is very special to me too. What do you think of the size? I've been wanting to get a tenor ukulele because the sopranos are much too small for my arms - I'm used to a baritone size. But if this is big enough it might be a lovely solution. And it's blue.

What is the best way to learn the specifics on the Enya products? I’ve found a Facebook page but haven’t found a website. I am thirsty to learn more about the Enya products. For instance, do they offer these in a tenor? How does it compare with the EUT-X1 in sound quality? (I own that model). When will these be available to the general public? Enya puts a lot of effort into their public image with outstanding customer service. I really appreciate that.

Enya does have a website and here it is www.enyamusical.com/sy/index_61.html
It isn't available to the general pubic yet. They're launching it in Asia first and then they want to see how sells. It definitely has a richer tone due to the fact that is it a solid mahogany instrument. I really appreciate Enya as well, and I really hope that they expand.

The last two guys that played it did nice things on it as well. The man in the red shirt mentioned it was easy to play because of the feel of the strings. Do you feel this would make it easier to learn on for someone just starting? Or is another brand/model better?

Thank you for this great review. I saw this instruments on other channels you mentioned in your video as well. I do like the look of the instrument though I'm not a big fan of this kind of headstock.
Do you think that this instrument is light or is it a little bit more heavy?

Would this instrument be good for a 9year old, who plays the piano very well. I'm thinking about the thinking about the thickness of the bridge. You do say that it's an easy Enya to play. I like to buy the best quality I can afford, for the esenes of plaing and the sound resonance... The Ukulele is what he has asked for Christmas . thanks🙂

Very good, Katie (Again)......This is really a good looking Uke......Black, Johnny Cash style Uke.......Personally, I like the mellow tone better than a bright......ok, now I have to say that I am quite concerned with your driving...woa, I hope you didn't get a ticket driving too fast?...:).......So, thank you soooo much for all the hard work that you do in making these vid's...I don't think I will get tired of saying that......love your review!!....:)

I am doing fine, my friend!..It is so nice to see your videos! I really love them...I will just get disappointed if you stop making them......You do such a wonderful job,,,REALLY!...So, I am looking and considering to buy my first PRS...I like the Dusty Waring version that has come out...It is the CE24, Waring burst satin (Sweetwater and American Musical Supply has them)..I know that you really like the PRS brand....I never even held one....My choice is my 2 and 3 pickups LP custom blacks..Boy, they are kind of heavy, though..I see that this PRS is only about 7 lbs...Since I value your opinion highly, what do you think of this model....Honesty only, don't hold back!.....(that, I am sure you wouldn't do).....:)

How's the action on the Enya MAD? I am looking for a new ukulele with lower action and less tension on the strings because my current ukulele has high action and too much tension on the strings. I really love the look and sound of the Enya MAD, but I haven't been able to play it myself to check the tension.

    Well I don't have an ENYA ukulele....yet :)
Looks like a mighty fine instrument. Thanks for highlighting the bridge and how the strings through the body may increase tone. Like all the build details that make it stand out, and that finish, it has such depth plus a powerful shine. Nice combination. Very interesting to hear those pros, with their feedback. Spot on descriptions I could understand. Like the idea of a larger neck as a beginner. They all liked it, You say yes, that's good for me. Looking forward to your thoughts over time as you get to know your new friend. Thanks for the insights of this Enya ukulele Katie. I'm going to check their website.
