I have been lusting after the blue Feather, and now I want it even more! thank you SO much for the comparison. I have the Nova go Travel guitar and Love it! more playable than my Ovation that I paid 3X more 12 years ago.
After owning a couple of Enyas, I recommended them for our school The price, quality, and value were things I mentioned in my pitch. We purchased 30 Nova u Concerts, and 2 Nova Pro Accoustic Plus Tenors for us teachers. Thanks to our generous admin for purchasing these for us :) We just got them in recently and I’ve been taking a few home each night to do the initial string stretching and tuning, so they will be ready to start in the new school year. :)
I didn’t know we need to wipe down the fret board. The only time I do that is when I change strings. Katie, would you please do an ukulele maintenance video?……Beautiful Enya. Thank you!
Thank you Katie for giving your time to us and showing the difference between the instruments. I appreciate the work that goes into producing quality videos like this.
OK, So I can definitely hear the difference in projection as the bodies get larger. The EUT-MS Tenor really stands out with the best overall sound of all of them. I was impressed by the Nova U Pro tenor, though. It has a very full sound and good sustain. I would be tempted to get one of those for all of the reasons you stated. I don't like the gloss finish ukuleles. The sound seems slightly muted on all of them. I can hear the strings bending on the first fret of the Nova Soprano, which is an easy fix on a ukulele with a bone nut. The EUC-M6 has a good middle of the road sound, but not exceptional. I didn't like the sound of the Feather at all. It sounds very muted to me. The Taimane Signature was much more open and full, with very good mid-range, but still not as good as the EUT-MS. So, those are my opinions after listening closely with a headset on my computer.
Wow Dan! You’re awesome! Thanks for taking the time to give your detailed opinions about all of the ukulele. I appreciate your time and your honest opinions.
Hey Katie! Thanks for doing this comparison! I used headphones to listen, and yes, there is a difference in tone between the Enyas - they are just, well, different! (I think the soprano sounds super cool.) Some sound fuller than others, but they are all great. I have several "K" Hawaiian 'ukuleles, but I'm really having fun with the Taimane 4-string with effects. The radiused fretboard really helps my left-hand injury too. And the inlays are just super cool - it looks and feels great. And the strap that comes with it is also by the same designer who designed her gig bag artwork. Hugs and condolences to Editing Katie. God Bless!
I’m so happy that you liked this video, and thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I really appreciate it, and editing Katie appreciates you too 😂🤣. Which color did you end up purchasing for the Taimane? Blue or natural?
I love my Enya nova concert in pink. I love it. I have a blue soprano I keep in my car. I like the concert better. But it is nice for travel. I am really interested in the feather or the moon Enya. I have been trying to figure out which is the best. Looking forward to your review. I’m leaning toward the feather and wondered if it was worth the extra cost. That gig bag is really nice ! Also I like the looks of the feather. But both are awesome ! Thanks for the good review and thanks to your awesome editor !!!

Can PWEEZE tell me ***how far apart the strings are*** in the Enya Tenor (biggest uke) vs the Enya Concert (med uke)? I had a Concert sized Enya uke (which i loved), gave it away this summer and recently bought the Enya Tenor uke and am finding it hard to transition!!! it seems like the strings are soo far apart from each other but since i don't have the medium one any longer, i can't compare! If you could please help, i would REALLY appreciate it. Love watching your videos!
Hi and thanks for watching 😀. That’s just something that I made up that I play when I demo and instrument to avoid a copyright claim 😂. I’m glad you liked it. If people want it and like it, I’ll consider making a tutorial 😀.
Amazing video Katie 👏 👏 👏 I like the Enya Nova ukes I owned 3 concerts 😁 sadly, I gave one away and regret it 😔 looking towards a tenor Nova soon. My very favorite Enya model is the EUT-MS series. I own two. One natural color acoustic and one blue acoustic electric 💙 I also own the EUT-M6 in blue acoustic electric 💙 version and that's my baby. ( idk why yours is EUC-M6) it is the most stunning, sweet sounding and comfy uke to play and show off. I absolutely love all the Enya products. I do not own the Feather style uke yet 😉 😉.I'm looking towards the TG signature low g. And maybe later on the beautiful pink 💗 Enya Trans acoustic model with all the stunning inlays.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your experiences with your Enyas this far 😀. I really appreciate it. I have seen you play your tenor M6 on Instagram, and it sounds beautiful 😀.
Please teach that song with the muted strum. I have the red concert nova and my grandkids are rough with it and with scratches and all, its very durable and sounds great. I also have the white nova pro tenor electric with low G. Which one do you like?
I like the sound & looks of the "Feather" Figures, it is the most expensive of them. LOL I have the Kaka in blue & bought my son the EUC 25D. I was very surprised of the sound & quality for the price. HAs been great as a starter for him. I love my Kaka but looking for a second Uke to string as low G & also would like a tenor. Not a big fan of the Nova soound although the tenor sound wasn't bad.
Hi Katie, thank you very much for this video. I have never played a Ukulele, and I have been researching them over the past three days or so. This was the first video I realized the order of size of each Ukulele, as the other videos I watched were more tutorial-type that were teaching specific songs. So far, I like the carbon fiber Nova U versions, and after watching this video, I think the Concert size would be the one I would start with. The Soprano looked good in two other videos, but I think size-wise, the Concert would be my choice. One thing I am concerned about with the carbon fiber versions is the finger prints that seem to be obvious after handling them. Has this been the case for you when playing them? Thank you again! Marc
I have a blue Nova soprano and a black Nova Concert. I notice the fingerprints on the black one, but not the blue. But as others have said, you can wipe them off pretty easily. When I first started playing ukulele, I couldn't decide between the Enya EUC-25D and the Nova Concert. Got them both. I like that I can leave the Nova out all the time and not worry about humidity and temperature (like Katie, I live in an area with sticky summers and cold, dry winters). I LOVE the EUC-25D, but in the winter I keep that in a case with a humidifier between plays. I end up practicing more with the Nova because it's always handy--I'll even practice during commercials on TV. But I can't give up the EUC-25D. It's so easy to play and sounds so good that I don't think I'll ever stop using it!
what is the benefit of the top strap button being further away or closer to the neck. Are all the Enya's neck-heavy? If so, wouldn't it work better for the button to be closer to the neck. I ask because instruments that are neck-heavy are harder on old left wrist/elbow injuries.
Good question. In my opinion, I think it balances the weight of the ukulele and keeps the strap out of the way of your chording hand. You can tie it to the headstock, but I like it out of the way. I’m my opinion, the neck should be balanced on the base of your forefinger of your chording hand so that the uke neck doesn’t fall as you transition between chords. I also think the location of the strap button is closer to the body because it has enough for the screw to be secured to the instrument. I also think putting a a screw more towards the headstock would weaken the neck and disrupt the vibration transfer. Those are just my opinions 😀. I hope that helps.
Would you happen to know if the Enya black concert Nova with AcousticPlus is still being produced and just out of stock? Haven't been able to find one online to purchase.
Do the Enya ukes come fully set up? I know some ukes have the bridge and frets worked on somehow so the action is smooth and there is no buzzing. I’m a little hesitant getting one off of Amazon without knowing.
I think that really hasn’t been true of Enya. It got that reputation in the early days but I can’t imagine how you could wear them down. Hope that helps 🙂
Hi! Yes, fret wear down is going to happen on all fretted instruments, but you really have to play the snot out of it, in my opinion 😂. Because of the nylon strings, I don’t think you’ll have a problem with the frets as long as you don’t try to place a steel string on the nova soprano or concert. The tenor pro has metal frets, so a wound low G would be fine. I play my concert nova u just about every day, and it’s just fine in my experience. I hope that helps.
@@OneMusicSchoolhelps a lot. I am just a beginner, but I think that a musical instrument should be repairable for the most part. I intend on learning to make a banjolele after I learn how to play.
I also do not care for the Enya carbon fiber soprano ukulele. I purchased a black one from Amazon a year and a half ago. It looks real good. But, I returned it a week later. I was having difficulty seeing the black low-profile frets. They blended in with the fretboard. I could not see exactly where to place my fingers. Also, I don't care for the sound of fluro carbon fiber strings. But, I know most people love them. To each his own
