No, Thank You for reaching out and letting me review one of your wonderful "action ukuleles". I had great fun and lots of wonderful feedback, especially when I took it to my local ukulele club. Lots of requests for purple too! Thanks @EnyaMusic
Your videos are absolutely fantastic; informative and very thorough. In addition, your enthusiasm is quite evident. You are obviously having FUN ! Thanks so much.
I just watched your delightful video, reviewing the Enya Nova U concert ukelele. I enjoyed it very much. Kudos on the Keyshound flinging something at the end. Your review was thorough and complete. I ordered the white, electric, tenor one and I am looking forward to using it. I teach two boys ukelele and I either stay 'one step ahead of the herd' or we are learning together. I am a lifelong learner, taking piano, guitar and voice lessons; filling in the foundation of the hole-filled experience I had in college.....late learner too. Anyway, YOUR video was delightful and I enjoyed it. Sincerely, Elizabeth Taggart, North Shore of Long Island, USA
For some reason, I missed this one earlier. I loved this review, and really love the Enya Nova line (and really all of their products) and I think you caught all of the upgrades. I bet you could get an auto shop to paint one purple…
Thanks Chris, I was quite suprised as I didn't know they had done any changes and it's only because I'd watched other reviews (yours included) that I noticed. Maybe I'll "decorate" it one day! LOL
I always enjoy your videos, Rachel! Seeing you in that "spun chair" was a bonus! I didn't know you did your own stunts! LOL! You might get away with leaving a ukulele in a car in Wales, but I don't think it would survive sitting in a car on a hot summer day in south Texas! I would hate to test it to find out for certain! I really like this gunmetal gray finish on these new ones! I would also love to see a baritone! This kind of instrument would be great for taking to the beach, for floating down a lazy river in a tire innertube, or playing outside while the horses graze! I haven't had a chance to review an Enya instrument on my UA-cam channel yet but I certainly hope to! Thanks for another great, and entertaining, review!
Thanks Steve, always appreciate your support. Yes, the chair was fun plus a bit scary! Can see you are thinking about how to review an Enya LOL! Yes, we don't quite have the extreme temps but I can't see me leaving in car too long, Might need to play it. ;-)
LOL!! Best unboxing/review EVER! I see a new UA-cam channel playlist in your future, called "Bloopers and Outtakes." And that rolling chair-thing needs a playlist, too. No, wait! Better yet! That chair-thing needs to appear in ALL your videos. It looks like a gigantic strap button!
From now on the chair will be know as "doing the strap button"! I will admit, I do have a little folder with a few bloopers already so one day.......... this one couldn't wait! Now I'm thinking to get other uke players on the strap button and see how good their playing is the faster we spin! LOL - The Strap Button Challenge!
Ha ha..love it. I love that spinning chair. The dog is gorgeous and I love the Uke, would love a bright coloured one. I love my Enya mahogany cherry blossom concert and the goody bag they provide with their Ukes. Mine is great for staying in tune also, much better than my Flight Pineapple. Looking forward to your Android tutorial for digitizing music sheets. x
Hi, the chair is made by Magis, not local (to me anyway) but my husband won it in a contest at work so great for a freebie! Really great fun and as I've been reminded today, looks like a MASSIVE strap button! LOL
Perfect uke to just leave laying around and not be worried about it. Not so certain I'd take it on any garden amusement park rides, but I'd definitely let the grandkids run around with it.
LOL! It's called a Magis Spun Chair, really funky. When my husband's workplace closed down, they gave away lots of the furniture as raffle prizes and he won it!! Only thing he really wanted so we love it. woo hoo. It's great fun but also quite frightening! LOL
There is an Electric version with Acoustic Plus Pickup which could be used with pedals but you could use the acoustic version like this one. Hope that helps amzn.to/3N4WEdT
I have just bought an Enya Nova U online (March 2022), I can say that they now have a strap on the back of the carry case. Still no pocket on the case, which is a pity as they have them on their other Uke cases.
@@UkuleleWales Yes thanks I am enjoying learning to play on this uke. I needed a travel ukulele as I will carry it around when bike touring. I have made a small modification. I put a loop of cord just above the nut, and attach the top of the ukulele strap to it, with a mini carabiner. That way it hangs much better (neutrally) if you take your hands off of the instrument. I found that if it is attached to the button at the top of the body the uke just swings downwards with the weight of the neck, which I found inconvenient.
I enjoyed watching your video. I want to but a concert ukulele and wanted to buy the Nova u in black but since I’ll be a beginner, will I have trouble to find the frets. It’s not defined. What do you think ? Is there maybe another colour I could buy who wouldn’t be so hard to see. ? Thanks for your tutorial…. Chantal from Canada 🇨🇦
It is a great ukulele and ideal for beginners. There are sidemarkers and fingerboard markrs but can see that it may be trickier to see the frets. All the different colours have the same black fingerboard but it probably won't cause to much bother. There is a tenor version with metal frets if that helps but I wouldn't worry too much about the black frets.
@@UkuleleWales yes the ténor has metal frets. Hey! But my last message, I have my Enya nova U and the frets are ok i mean I have no problem.I see them even if they’re black. I’m doing a 30 uKe challenge with Bernadette. I love it. I’m day 7. 🙋♀️
hello. i really love your review, may i know if you'd be able to confirm if the bridge section is quite strong and may not chip off? coz i recently bought a wood one and the bridge snapped and it was broken, so im looking for a stronger or harder material, im not sure if i explained my query well, im new into ukulele, but i hope you got the geez of my inquiry, thank u
Hi, I would say the Enya bridge section is strong - think it is all part of the front but cannot be 100% sure because of the paint. It is rare for a bridge to seperate from the ukulele, I have never had this happen on a wooden instrument so maybe you were unlucky or there was an accident. I would not discount all wood ukuleles because of this one. I hope this helps.
@@UkuleleWales thank you for responding and for the disclaimer, my first uke was just like $20, so given the very cheap price, indeed very cheap material, they got me a replacement earlier which was okay but the more i watch youtube vids about uke, the more i learn on the difference of quality and sound of those higher priced uke, i was relieved of what you said about other wooden pieces and im considering that maybe next time ill buy higher priced one when i play better haha, id practice more for now
😂 just like my hubby hurling plastic blocks in Bob The Builder 👷♂️ vid! Haaaa! Great review Rach, I've seen so many Enya's on the FB pages recently & was wondering how good they were, I'm well impressed! Looking for a water 💧 proof one too as passed my Waterman on last year! Yes, a purple 💜 coloured one would be fabulous! How was the action on it, I may have missed that & are the strings fluorocarbon ones please? X
I got a pale pink one delivered today, really wish there was purple or turquoise. It was £67.99 on Amazon two days ago, but has now gone up to £79.99. I still think it's a bargain at the higher price, as it plays really well. The action is good, doesn't hurt your fingers, and the strings are Enya fluorocarbon. I really like it, although I have already managed to get dirty marks on the pale pink case. 😣
"Rustic patio decoration" haha, thank you. I will use this. No more weeding for me. The uke looks and sounds great, but carbon is not my cup of tea. I like wood me. It feels so cold and disconnected touching carbon.
Glad to hear yu have one on the way, I can't say about whether updates are on the ukes yet as I didn't know about them until this one arrived. I'm sure you will love it though.
@@UkuleleWales i have received mine yesterday! So glad it actually come with the updated features except the markers on side neck. Also since i got the acoustic plus version I noticed it now have ‘delay’ together with chorus knob
Great question. No, I would not try to use steel strings as I susept the tension would be too much and the steel strings would likely cut into th freats. Hope that helps.
Thank you so much for the authentic review, playing the Nova ukulele outdoor is so cool!

Saw your review and bought it. Just received it Saturday and now know the C and F chords. Im very happy with the purchase. Thank you.

My band mate leaves hers in the car overnight when there's snow on the ground and when the temps reach 100 degrees, and it usually is still in tune. 🤘

LOL! Love it! I am patiently waiting for snow so I can do a "cold" test on my new Enya Pro tenor version.
Nice and good sounding travel uke. With a wound low G the fretwear is an issue though...
Thanks. I have read that this was sometimes and issue, probably why the new tenor pro has metal frets. I'll stick with my high G I think.
