Great video ! I started taking mine apart thinking . This guys stunned its not that hard ... yes its just like you did it . Dang iv got new cuts and some new muscles . Poped my arm out of socket to get the 8mil bolt for the starter switch. Just rediculis this has to be done this way . Great video for a step by step and how to avoid hours of mistakes . Took me about 2 hours doing it the wrong way then the right way haha . Thanx ! . 😂
I'm not gonna lie, it took me some time to figure out that the first ignition switch was faulty and how to get the rod put back into the keyed ignition switch correctly🤦♂️!! Your comment made my evening👍🏼
Good video, jumps right into it explaining everything along the way. I wish all how to vids were done like this. I would never attempt tearing into my steering column without this.
Glad the video was helpful. Make sure you look inside that ignition switch hole before you take things apart, the key ignition. That was the most frustrating and took the most amount of time was to figure out how to orient that after not looking inside the column before disassembling.everything else was cut and dry
I will also add... don't buy the cheapest ignition switch. The actual switch at the bottom of the column. My first switch was faulty and I had to . the more expensive switch looked a lot more like the original switch. Take care
T@zmurray9499 took Pic as you said and still hard to set it.scared I was sure going to break teeth off....metal teeth to plastic teeth very smart...lololol
@@crsmith56 no!!!! Just make sure you either take a picture with your phone inside the ignition tumbler hole. So you can see what the orientation is with the teeth on the ignition rod. And don't buy the cheap ignition switch. It would be very easy for me to do it a second time. Struggled the first time because I didn't do those two things👆🏼.

So glad I atleast found another squarebody in yellow not the same yellow but close enough glad I stumbled across it
I would like to think that yellow is rare and desirable😃!!
@@zmurray9499 mines is like the fleet vehicle/ caterpillar/ school bus yellow. Think it's called wheatland but I have not seen very many at all.
I haven't tried changing out switches yet. I would tied a string at end of each plug before pulling out once out tie it to new plug to pull back down
I’m having the opposite problem. I can’t find a non intermittent switch for my Comanche. I’m thinking a CK one might work.

If you had to do it again, do you think it would have been easier to remove the entire column out of the truck and then replaced everything?

@zmurray9499 does the sprocket come out?? Saw a video somewhere where they put it on key cylinder and put it in???
