I think this is the first time I've ever seen the runway copy trends that women brought back on tiktok themselves. Runway trends are supposed to bring in new trends, but these ate just selling us things we've already been doing.
This has always happened, it’s just more obvious now with social media. Back in the 90s, us grunge kids were rocking our outfits based on the music we listened to, and following each other. Then it hit the catwalks and we all moved on. I remember going to a club in a swanky part of London at the point grunge was easing out, where all the posh kids were wearing designer grunge inspired clothes, and we thought they were all losers because we’d already done that old thing, and we were obviously SO cool. 😂
Yessss you’re the first person I’ve seen point out the irony of tik tok fashion girlies clowning millennials for wearing peplum tops out when it was trendy when they’re literally wearing BLAZERS (and trousers… and loafers…) like let’s be real for a second 🥲
I used to hate orange until I tried orange eyeshadow and I really liked how it looked on me, then I got into orange blush and then clothing. There are so many different shades of orange but they probably said it’s trending because of the pantone color of the year "peach fuzz". But I 100% agree with you a color should work for you and your wardrobe. The same goes for any type of clothing trend.
my mom and i were in the car a few weeks ago and she was like "are capes going to come back in style cause they should" and I was like no way but she was right hahaha and it works
Hey, laini, random question (unrelated to the wonderful video), do you still have that old silver bag you used to have? Do you know the size? I’m sort of in the market for something similar but wanted to know what size it was. Thank you in advance!
In high school (circa 2014) we used to wear cut up t-shirts with bandeau tops underneath. When that comes back we will know the 80’s take over is in full effect yet again. We already have work wear, shoulder pads, off shoulder tops, furs, mixed metals, big hair, leg warmers, animal print & preppy fashion. I feel like I’m in an episode of saved by the bell 😂
I think that color can also be trending, bcs for example we see a lot of red these days same as some patterns or clothes and they're trending so how color in fashion can't trend?
It’s a trending color, like how teal was super big in the early 2010’s it’s just how fashion trends work. Chevron and tribal print are just patterns that have been around for a loooooong time, but if you look back to those same years is was EVERYWHERE! I remember going to school and seeing it on everything from legging to bags and sunglasses.
green was also very big during the pandemic, i feel at least. and red is something i’ve definitely seen a lot more recently whether it be red bags, red shoes, red jackets, etc….
I like bows, and I think many would agree, In a “feminine” “classic” very traditional girly way…these modernized bow clothes just don’t get it…its too much…a bow should be the cherry on top not all over 🫶🏼💗
You look AMAZING, like a 90’s sitcom mom
Thank you for pointing out the 2012 statement necklace, peplum top connection to today’s “office siren”
This hairstyle looks insanely good on you omg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your hair looks amazing like this

How can red be a trend? It's a color! A color that I love wearing and seeing other people wear, but it's kind of stupid to call it a trend.
I think that color can also be trending, bcs for example we see a lot of red these days same as some patterns or clothes and they're trending so how color in fashion can't trend?

I think it’s funny too 😂
i colors can totally be a trend, just look at the valentino barbie pink or the bottega veneta green
