    I started on a PS3 fifteen plus years ago and a controller. Went PS4 and drove on a G27. Added Xbox 360, then Xbox One and a controller again. Stepped up to a seat made by Playseat with a Thrustmaster T300, added the Ferrari Alcantra wheel from the 599xx Evo and loved that for many years. After going to PS5 I got a T-LCM pedal set for the Thrustmaster, and they were incredible. But, took them back to Microcenter as I decided to build a rig.
    Now I have a P1-X Pro, triple curved 32 inch monitors (1440) and built a OC with a i9 14900, 32 gb ram, and a 4080 Super GPU. Added full Fanatec setup with Porsche 911 GT3 R wheel, inverted V3 pedals and the 15 nm DD+ base. Really want the D box motion but can’t justify 8k right now. Oldest kid is headed to college next month and have one two years behind her to do the same.
    Added a PSVR2 for racing on GT7 as I had stopped playing it because of the triples for pc games, but now I have that? Playing GT7 again a lot. It’s so cool. You’re IN the car.
    Next month PlayStation releases an adaptor so I can use it for pc games too, I very excited for that.
    Fair warning; don’t start playing American Truck Simulator. That’s extremely addictive to me. I love the sound of the trucks, hauling heavy large loads to difficult places to get to, the sounds, everything. I set up long trips and put on podcasts or music and just…drive.
    Racing is exciting; not relaxing. The trucks game is very relaxing to me.

    Hi mate great setup & video it was really well put together & helpful.
    I was just wondering do you happen to know the dimensions of the whole setup with the triple 48inch monitors? I want to make sure it will fit before I commit to moving house. Thanks mate.

      Sure thing. The footprint is 9 ft wide x 6 ft deep. 59 inches high to top of pc

    Excellent Video! I’m considering this set up and have two questions.
    1) How much space does this set up take up? (Width/Length)
    2) Do you have receipts for each component incase you have warranty issues? If not, does Podium 1 include a warranty?
    Thanks!

    • @HySpeed1
      @HySpeed1  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you!
      The P1 is 9 feet wide by 6 feet deep (back of PC to back of seat). Pretty sure the p1 ultimate is 10+ feet wide. I’m not sure about receipts, but I’m fairly certain all of the suppliers know Podium 1 and will honor their products warranties when purchased through their turn key rigs. I had an issue with the BdH shifter on mine. Podium 1 replaced it. They’re great folks im sure they will work with you if you have any issues. You won’t regret it if you decide to pull the trigger.

      @@HySpeed1 Thanks for the response. I’ve considered trying to build my own, but seems like a lot of research and labor will be required to get it done right. I even calculated the cost of the P1 set up if I bought it on my own and it would total $22,512 with motion ($14,612 without motion). So I’m on the fence whether saving $12,500 is worth the labor or not. I could theoretically even pay someone $2,000 to put it together and maybe save $10,000.
      Do you think the motion is worth it? I suppose I can add it later on down the line.
      Either way, the turnkey option is very nice and probably saves you some big headaches. For now I’m just saving up and doing research. Thanks again for your video.

    • @HySpeed1
      @HySpeed1  Місяць тому +1

      I mean, the motion and the brake are the coolest parts. The motion system gets the wow factor from people that try it for the first time, and it adds a ton to the overall experience. It was worth it to me, but it’s all subjective. I’m sure you know this but the LG ultra gears that are on this setup are big time discounted right now.

    Hello, great setup. Do you find the d-box motion system noisy at all (more so than the rest of the rig)? I'm really keen to add it to my setup, but just weary of it being excessively noisy as it will be within the house. Unfortunately, there are no venues near me where i could try one before buying.

    • @HySpeed1
      @HySpeed1  3 місяці тому

      It does generate noise, but I would say it’s minimal and relatively quiet overall. No one ever comments on the noise when trying it out, and it’s definitely not a factor for me since I race with headphones. Don’t hold back because of noise concerns!

      @HySpeed1  3 місяці тому

      @@leedavis5568 Gotcha. Mines in the garage so I get no complaints 😄 It all depends on where your setup is. I don’t think it would be an issue in an adjacent room with the door shut, but I could see where having it direclty above might cause some complaints if you have settings turned up. Again, I don’t know this for sure just speculating given my experience with it. Overall it’s surprisingly quiet for what it does. It’s not jumping up and down or making scratching noises although jumping up and down would be a cool feature 😂

      @@HySpeed1 front room. I’ll keep pondering and have more of a think, everything I’ve seen indicates it’s no louder than anything else on a rig such as paddle shifters etc. Just dont want to buy it and then not be able to use it properly.. thanks for the responses though

    I thought Podium1 gear was overpriced, but the equipment is a solid 70% of the actual cost of the rig. 30% for profit and labor seems quite fair considering the white glove experience they provide. Enjoy your rig, it's definitely the top of the line in every aspect.

    • @HySpeed1

      Fair take, I knew nothing about racing simulators going into this. Building one on my own seemed risky and I likely would have gone through multiple versions of different components before ending up with a final setup. Buy once cry once is the way I looked at this and I’ve been very happy with it.

    • @kevinstock5886

      I’m building one on my own, way budgeted down compared to this rig, and I can say the up charge is absolutely worth the price lol it is kind of fun building it and watching it all come together but it seems the attention to detail to podium is exceptional where as I’m very tempted to shortcut because it’s been grueling

    Great rig no doubt about that, but it is 35K$!!!….I would not expect nothing less for that absurd amount of money. Personally I would not recommend at all to anybody to spend that amount of money before knowing if sim racing is “his thing”, but to know that you need to start basic and generally upgrade with time, but once you know this is your “big” hobby to consider to spend big on it, you already have a lot of things. That is why is amazing for me how this companies have a business, I guess the few they sold they should gain a lot of margin of the real price of the items. Anyhow enjoy it, but as said, not anybody would consider to spend 35K!!! in something to “try it”, lucky you
