  • SIM Racing has played a vital role in my growth behind the wheel. I started with a g25 moving into a rseat with fanatec wheel base and pedals. Now I'm so proud to own my first ASR rig with simucube and D-box components.

      Acknowledging that you're ok paying 18k for someone to put this shit together is absolutely f'n insane. It's a couple hours at most to assemble this stuff. And this is the most basic looking rig. My personal rig blows this thing far far away. They're shitty for ripping you off and you are dumb as fuck for paying that. You said the extra 18k was worth it for THEIR tuning...wtf...YOU are the racer...TUNE YOUR OWN SHIT! It'd be funny of it wasn't so sad.

    I don't understand this, it seems like content creators are trying to one up each other on sim rig builds lately....seems like most of these folks just found out about sim racing in general. Part of the enjoyment of building a rig is exactly that, spec your own gear, build and customize it to your hearts desire. Outsourcing this to a company like ASR immediately implies a substantial increase in cost and an equal decrease in value (outside of their expertise of course). Time is money though, if $45k was worth it to you to outsource this, all good. I think you blatantly got ripped personally and this would also explain why it took me 5 weeks to get my ASR rig from them as i'm sure i'm classified as a "non-VIP" consumer.

    • @jcdracing_
      @jcdracing_  4 місяці тому +1

      This is not a one up rig or my intentions here. Rigs can be in the six figures so this is more me sharing a turn key 45,000. Last few rigs I’ve built. been on iracing since 2010 back on the ole g25 haha. Had fantec after that then moved on up to simucube. Played with a few rig style. I’m launching another video explaining how I acquired this rig and if I think the service is worth it and who it’s for. I don’t recommend this route for anyone with dyi but I do believe market exists for those that race and that want a sim as a tool but don’t necessarily enjoy, or want to build their own. Highly respect your view on it and thank you for the comment. Cheers JCD

      @MikeBaloga 4 місяці тому +1

      @@jcdracing_ Hey, it’s all good man, didn’t mean to rain on your parade and i get why people go this route but I’m just surprised that’s all, it’s spending almost double the cost just for labor and some advisory. It’s also strange that so many content creators have done this exact thing over the last 3 months or so, it’s like they all just discovered SIM. Setup looks great and I can’t wait to get my ASR pro as well, they are one of the best out there……should be next week. :-). I will say, SIM racing is not an easy entry for anyone given all of the learning, setup, and technical stuff most need to figure out to get in and make it all work, so i can see people paying someone else to provide advice on what to buy and then assist on setup and configuration of all the necessary software and accessories. I dream of spending $45k on my MKV Supra, it’d be an 8 second car. :-)

    • @jcdracing_
      @jcdracing_  4 місяці тому

      @@MikeBaloga oh man!! That Supra sounds sweet. We need to do what we did for this rig and find a sponsor to buy it that gets value in return. Dropping a second video explaining how I got this rig and I’m not out of pocket. 45k in that Supra would be sweeeeet! You didn’t rain on my parade but very much appreciate you taking the time to write back. I will share all of the actual pricing and the invoice plus show their labor. Even tho they inflated the cost after the overhead not sure they truly make that much either. Interested if people know of a better turnkey solution over just blasting the cost. A client does exist that needs it not only built but maintained as a tool over hobby purpose. Where do they go for that service? As someone that’s been on iracing since 2010 and my 4th rig this has been the best service and the product is matches the service from my now personal experience with them. Hopefully we see turnkey solutions that offer this same level in performance for much less here soon in the future as the more that join the community the better the racing will get.
      When you get your rig always game to run laps with new friends. Cheers 🍻

    Good that you enjoy your rig but you overpaid big time. It is really a $ 20,000 to $25,000 mostly at MSRP and without taking advantage of sales, Black Friday, and bundles which could have saved another $5,000 easily.They also cut a few corners with the steering wheels and the lack of bezel free kit. For this price, they should have included top of the line in all categories instead of pocketing half for “service”. While it is nice to have someone build a rig for you, there are a lot of advantage in building your own rig beyond the substantial savings. You can upgrade, repair, and optimize it without having to,wait for someone to do it for you and the cost and downtime. Not the best value for your money but the essential is that you enjoy it and you could comfortably afford that.

    • @jcdracing_
      @jcdracing_  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey Alain, very true. The hardware added a up to around 27k with all the miscellaneous. No sales purchased to make an event so timely install was needed with no tuning. I agree and have built all my rigs till this one. It term of people that live on the road like myself 200/250 days on the road coaching the last thing I want to do is come home and work on the sim haha. Also this relationship was formed so other that I coach that want turn key and remote service because they don’t have the time or know how to build. This is a good route for those individuals. Thank you for the comment and very factual. Cheers

      Haha thank you for your outlook. I’ll be releasing a video explaining. You can build this rig if you have the know how and what you want for much less and I’m not claiming you can’t. Their service comes at a premium but at the same lots of service is provided for those that can’t build or maintain their own sim. Question is who does it value, for a serious racer that competes and needs it as a tool in very small windows of time that support could play into the value. They do sell DYI wheel you can buy just the hardware and build yourself. You’ll save a ton but you have a lot more hands on. Building the rig is one thing but then getting the screens to show right field of view, haptic feed back, wheel settings, pedal settings.. Ect it can be a process if you’re new and don’t know what it should feel like. That being said endless resource online to tune yourself if you go the build route. For programs: road racing Iracing and for drift AC.

      @jcdracing_  4 місяці тому

      @@dathyr1 hey that truly is up to you. I started just like you. First rig for me was a play seat with g25 after that. If I could offer advise if you do go to a rig make sure it’s something like this that has the ability to be modified. Some tube chassis’s will really limit your ability to customize to your exact needs. The most important part is to have balance. Don’t spend to much on it if it’s for fun as it can burn people out and then they want to cash it back out. So enjoy your wheel base and program of choice and if you feel like building one to enjoy the next tier go for it. Let me know which route you go and add me on the sim, we can run laps. Cheers 🍻

      I paid exactly 34,507.71 this does not include the wheel base, active pedal, throttle pedal and few small misc items. When you add those in that’s how the number came to $37,000. Then labor for the install was.. About 1k to setup And 8k was spent to fly 3 techs build in half a day and tune it to my race car ergonomics like field of view, pressure, resistances. Also they spent a good amount of time tuning different wheel and pedal maps for my needs.

    • @jcdracing_
      @jcdracing_  4 місяці тому

      Haha no flex here. Appreciate the opinion, this cost point does include them all flying out to install and also taking to check my actual race car for seating and pedal pressures. This rig could be built for around 25/30k if built yourself and had no tuning done. I had my pedals and wheels before so the number I spent was less but the total meets 45k when added in. A painter can paint for half the cost of retail… but if you can’t paint that price is irrelevant… kinda how I look at sims for those that are not as blessed as you to be able to source, build and maintain their sims. I don’t mind supporting a business that’s willing to do all that so I can focus on driving and know that I can quickly reach out and have my sim fixed and optimize at anytime is priceless for those that need this as a tool and not a game. Thank you for the comment cheers 🍻
