For those that time is money in their business it pays to have a company like Podium 1 who are experts are doing the installation and set up do this for someone. Time is money and better off having them do this at their pricing for the package then spending my time doing it. I set up my first sim and spent too much time putting the package together, setting up, etc when I could have spent that time with my business which makes more sense when you compare dollar for dollar.
Congratulations! Sweeet setup. Was fun playing with you last night! I'm terrible at iRacing that is a fact this game is hard! First time this year jumping on and wow a lot of muscle memory to regain.
Hello, I love this rig, podium 1 does a really good job. I was curious to see what brand that led strip is going up the gear shifter arm please. Looking to get one myself as I've got a TR120 aswell. Thanks
Congrats on the setup! My rig is similar and I built it myself over the past few years and it’s been phenomenal at sim racing and also flight sim with a full HOTAS setup (I went with the tr160 rig and a Qubic 3DOF motion platform). You will love the monitors, OLED is costly but really brings out the immersion on sim racing and flight sim.
Agree! I did not think going from the Samsung 32” curved to 48” would be a big difference but probably the best change from my prior sim. The 4090 is definitely needed to maintain the quality so a great package.
iRacing in general is excellent for how the real cars feel and sound. The topo they take of the track is very realistic as well. So if you have a good steering wheel with force feedback and dialed in like the car you race or are racing on iRacing it will be very close to the real thing. For motion it definitely adds to the "seat of your pants" feel but hard to get "G" feel in braking and in corners, etc. It is one of the best ways to learn a track and practice in a car you race. The iRacing races are really good as well as you move up in each class.
It’s a badass set up! I would love to have something similar. If I ever go to Nashville, I’ll check out the Podium 1 store so I could try it out. How do you feel about it months later?
It has been a great experience! The owners set up a Monday night "owners" night where we do three races in three different cars and three different tracks every Monday night with other Podium 1 owners. It has been really fun and we are all having a blast together. Solid group and could not be happier.
Sweet rig, question though…I see you have nothing else in the room drawing power….do you have that room on its own breaker in your electrical panel? Is it a 15 or 20amp breaker? I’m having issues with my rig tripping breaker all the time. Also do you have all your cables plugged into a surge protector and why kind of surge protector is it? How many Joules is it?
The outlets are set to one breaker with he bathroom. I am not sure what the amp is. The computer box is to one outlet itself. The TV's are to one dedicated trip breaker provided by Podium one then to another outlet. Then the pedals to another outlet, etc. I do not know if it works better this way but that is how I have done it.
The system is amazing, if i couod do it I would in a heartbeat. I have the asetek la prima with the forte wheel, love it, and the company. You got a great setup, haters are gonna be haters lol whatever right lol let em, you got a great rig, be proud of it and show it off. Add a red light (govee) behind the seat lol we all need a break light.
Excellent setup! I also went from triple 27 inch to 3x50 inch and the extra immersion was just amazing, almost 1:1 looking image. Hows the Asetek Invicta working out, have it on my proposed upgrade path - currently using a very old Simucube. All the best.
Very nice! What are you running for frame rate and computer to push the 50" inch monitors? Which 50's are you running? I do like the Asetek Invicta. I also went from the old Simucube to this. Not a big improvement but feedback and feel is very good.
4090/5800X3D, Hisense QLED TVs that can run up to 120HZ, got them on special over a year ago - very happy with them. The old Simucube was fine, but recently just seems to have a issue with maybe the driver card with all the detail gone. Figured I would just bite the bullet and get what seems the best at the moment. @@CharlieFerer
Wow! That systems so cool. I'm gonna wanta get my eyelids done along with face injections to prepare for the G forces. Thankfully there's no need to work my tri's.
Liked your video and congrats on your new rig! A sim like yours would sure make the OFF Season go faster 😎 Mosport (sorry .... Canadian TIre Motorsports Park as it is now called) has changed significantly along pit road and the tower is no longer there but what an awesome track to drive / race on!
that's a sick rig. One bit of feedback, keep the tech specs light if you don't quite understand them. There were a few strange descriptions. The PC spec explanation was a bit off and not using a tv because it doesnt work with a PC? they sure do.. was probably just not configured properly.
Thank you Marc. I am definitely not a tech guy but any tech would understand what I am saying. Unfortunately with that TV we had it did not work with the other monitors we had. I agree, TV's do work with PC's but for some reason to have all four communicate it did not have what we needed per Podium 1. The fourth Monitor does so that took care of the issue. You could be right though it could have been me for all we know LOL.

Most TV's don't have Display Ports just HDMI. Most graphics cards have 3 x Display Ports and 1 x HDMI. So using TV's can work but you would be using converters from HDMI to DP which can have performance loses. Its easier to just use gaming displays intended to be used with common day graphics cards.
That is what is great about UA-cam. We get great feedback like the above for those like me that are not tech savvy. Always appreciate the comments because it only helps all of better understand what works and what does not. Thank you!
Great call but I always run with the window blind down. I like running with the room dark. I wish we had the blind down in the video and wish we caught that when doing the video. Bummer the screens were washed out from the light in the video but Massimo wanted some light for the video.
Do you mind sharing your height? I just ordered the sim star seat and wondering if I’m too short for it lol I’m 5’8. Only asking because after ordering it I’ve been seeing some videos online where it looks too tall for the person. Thanks and congrats on the rig!!
To answer the question of the title ... No it is not worth THAT much of money. Just add up the prices for each component... Also Dbox in itself is ridiculous regarding its pricing and there are much better alternatives in 2023. At this price point the simrig should also offer advanced tactile feedback.
@@CharlieFerer I agree with him! You can be proud an happy with this rig, but making it yourselves would save you big-money! The margin the company takes is huge. A breakdown is not needed, as you know this yourself as well ;-) You just saved yourself a lot of work and stress tho!
@@CharlieFerer Oh god. here we go. Keep in mind that i constantly took the upper-end of the price-range (and with EU tax). Getting the deals could save you some bucks. Right now around 21k it is. @@CharlieFerer Awesome setup! I’ve been working with Podium1 on my simulator. Questions: Did you have it delivered and put it together yourself or used the WGS. @@robertbrawer2840 I had it delivered and my friend and I set it up in about four hours. Super easy to set up. I definitely recommend ethernet not wifi. I will have to measure the system. When you are where I am you will get it. I actually saved money having someone else that specializes in building sims than me doing it personally.
I have a real race car. Feel free to watch my other videos. This is way cheaper than running a real race car and better practice to be honest doing the race series. A race weekend running Porsche cup for track entry, crew, fuel, tires is $22k for ONE weekend and that is if you don’t have an incident let alone the car. In relative terms this is a lot cheaper. Super Trofeo is about $40k+. Agree you can buy a NASA track car cheap (used Mazda Miata) and do that with friends as track support for $35k but racing is not cheap even in that type of series. A new spec Mazda is $120k. It is not the car it is the racing that is expensive.
