Of course the "tax credit" gets hyped all over the place as if it's an instant $7,500 off the sticker price, which is a LIE. One is simply allowed to reduced their adjusted income by $7,500 (or whatever formula is in use) on their next tax filing, which means your PAYMENT is based on the full price of the car! I traded in a $21,000 Hyundai Ioniq hybrid for my $42,000 Kona electric and I can tell you the payment is plenty steep! Maybe if I had no other bills the payment would be nothing, but that's not how most of the country lives. There will not be a wholesale shift toward buying electric cars until the average price drops to $25,000 or LESS, and less than $20,000 would be more encouraging. You can buy a whole lotta gasoline for the difference in price between a Kona electric and the gas version at less than $20K! I keep HOPING the Chinese will show up with cars like the Xping G3 SUV fully loaded EV for around $25K, but then why would they....they have a domestic market of BILLIONS still to satisfy! The consumer is being lied to and ripped off by the electric car lie. NOT that they aren't better, but that they somehow MUST cost more! There is no way a simple electric motor costs anywhere near that of an internal combustion engine, plus transmission, fuel system, cooling system, intake system, and complex emissions controls! The base price of an electric car sans battery should be less than that of it's gasoline version. I just had my traction battery replaced (nothing wrong with it, but it was under Hyundai's recall), and the listed cost was $11,000 which is expensive, but in no way accounts for the $22,000 price DIFFERENCE between my electric Kona and the gas model.

Sounds great but most of these companies are not geared to scale production especially Rivian. Retail pricing has gone up alot as well. Tesla still has the best charging network compared to all others. The competition is welcoming as EV technology is advancing rapidly. Tesla will still dominate for some time.
My question is this. Why are the auto makers around the world making cars that have to be charged up at charging stations or home? Why aren't they making an on board generator like in our gas autos?
We will not damage environment by energy. And we must have the freight and magnetic rail that run at least 400 mph in the Midwest this also help us less build more interstate Hwy that clean up the forest and farm lane and building for more drivers move but they did not keep 500 ft apart that make traffic jam and accidents all the time
Disappointed in the Subaru EV from what I've seen.. wasn't impressed with the comparatively dismal mileage of their earlier Hybrid effort earlier either. Luckily, it's apparently going to be fairly light for an EV.. starting around 4250lbs, but that's still a lot of weight to move with 215HP & 248 Lb-Ft. I can't imagine it's going to make this a particularly capable off-roader. By comparison, the HP/weight ratio is going to be ~0.051 HP/Lb, which would be comparable to 150-175HP in an ICE cross-over. I'd maybe consider it an off-roader if you think that means dirt roads, or pulling off a parking lot onto an adjacent campsite. Range is anemic at 220 miles, compared to its competition (ID.4, EV6, Ioniq5). It seems much better suited as a suburban grocery carrier instead of an off-roader.. unless you already live near the 'off-roads'. Realistically.. it'll probably be popular in the suburbs where the winters get bad. Charge time on a L3 DC fast-charger isn't great. Slightly slower than an ID.4.. but potentially 2-3x slower than an 800V EV6 or Ioniq5 (if you can find a very high-output charger). I don't think it's a bad-looking car.. just not on my radar based on its specs.
Rivian is the only one of all of them that looks to be useful for true off road. Rivian also has 7700lb tow capacity. BMW is the next highest @ 5500lb tow, and the rest pretty much suck for towing and off road.

Check out how much batteries or electric motor cost when need replaced . All batteries have a cycle life, how many times they can be fully charged. I just checked but some models may be more. average cost to replace an electric car battery is $5,500. For a motor it could cost between 5,000 and 12,000 dollars.
Electric motors can fail, but it's rare. Batteries can last a long time if charged at 220V and max at 80%. My 2015 VOLT still holds it's full charge after 116,000 miles.
Tesla’s have everything accept luxury. That’s their only failing. Mercedes is in the market but their msrp is typically in the clouds for average buyers and historically, their cost of maintenance was ridiculous. Toyota’s Prius owned the market and it was brilliantly when they put the Prius driveline in the Camry. It was the best of three worlds, high MPG’s, low entry msrp and low maintenance. The only problem with electric’s is the 150 pounds of copper required in every electric vehicle. Thinking that trading in gas vehicles for electric vehicles is more about fashion than environmental impact.

Sounds great but most of these companies are not geared to scale production especially Rivian. Retail pricing has gone up alot as well. Tesla still has the best charging network compared to all others. The competition is welcoming as EV technology is advancing rapidly. Tesla will still dominate for some time.
Better charging network than a standard 120v outlet? Hmm
@@sonicelectronic57 He's talking about the abundance of Telsa charging stations compared to other newish brands....
@@texasboy5680 there are power outlets all over my house...fast charging is terrible for the batteries anyway. 220v is all you need.
A game changer would be a small gas generator that would recharge the batteries while you drive, I think it's ignorant to have to find a power source.
Lookin to trade my Pruis Prime in this year for full EV: BZ4X or EV6 for me
Prius, the automobile clot of interstate system…
My question is this. Why are the auto makers around the world making cars that have to be charged up at charging stations
or home? Why aren't they making an on board generator like in our gas autos?
While we make more convenient products. We need to build more recycle plans. So that we do not have to do the mining.
Save planet- go green
I thought Rivian scrapped plan to make R1S with 400 mile range
its just delayed, lets see if they survive first
These all look like sedans to me, mostly 5 seaters and on the smaller end. Though they may technically be suvs
We will not damage environment by energy. And we must have the freight and magnetic rail that run at least 400 mph in the Midwest this also help us less build more interstate Hwy that clean up the forest and farm lane and building for more drivers move but they did not keep 500 ft apart that make traffic jam and accidents all the time
Nice video
Testing shows it as good as forester or outback..........But looking over the wheel to see guages eliminates Me....Paul
Rivian is the only one of all of them that looks to be useful for true off road. Rivian also has 7700lb tow capacity. BMW is the next highest @ 5500lb tow, and the rest pretty much suck for towing and off road.

Normal cars are too low and SUV's are too high, cars in between would sell like hot cakes if they existed.
They exist. They're called crossovers. North America is full of those.
Alternate headline:
10 Electric SUVs Coming out in 2022 that you can't afford or will not be able to be purchased on mass for another 10 years
Exactly. My local chevy dealer hasnt seen any BOLT yet. VW wont get the ID.4 for another year or maybe 2. They're still a small market and expensive.
Subaru Solterra, way low in battery range. Knowing lots of us have range anxiety, dont know why they and Toyota did not choose to release a long range model for their debut
Very informative video! It is interesting to learn about Toyota's upcoming plans in the EV industry.🚗 ⚡️
I love Subaru's....But looking over the wheel to see guages elliminates Me as potential buyer..............Paul
I'll take the Equinox more conventional layout...................Paul
Check out how much batteries or electric motor cost when need replaced .
All batteries have a cycle life, how many times they can be fully charged.
I just checked but some models may be more.
average cost to replace an electric car battery is $5,500.
For a motor it could cost between 5,000 and 12,000 dollars.
NIO addresses this exact dilemma with BaaS...very logical.
Wow
I go through these visa in the hope of finding out info for EV's that i can actually consider buying in the UK. What on earth is going on, so many new EV's and very little vids for UK. Sad
Nothing here for urban populations. When GM kills the Bolt it kills interest of some (many) urban and first time buyers.
Thanks for sharing this video idol. Shoutout! #MOVEONTV
Or tanks. We drivers on public Hwy do rocket thing to shoot toward to other drivers on public Hwy
👍👍 Great
5:39 YO TRASH TASTE THEME LETS GOOO IF U KNOW U KNOW
We must use the UFO technologies to help the vehicle able to generate the electric on it own by sun by wind or by motion moving and reserve its electric.
All of the vehicle fast and stop and slow or help drivers to move same lane and between or change lane can not be less than 500 - 250 ft apart on interstate Hwy or local can not be less from 150ft or 75ft apart in peak hours or bad weather or incident will take place
nice suv!!
Will wait until 50k euros and 500km range at 130 km/h
Go Payday!
game-changer to the EV Market seems a bit excessive. Considering the range and the interior display in this car it's nothing really earth-shattering or "changing the EV game".
Nice
👍👍👍
Is this a political channel? No BYD, NIO or XPeng?
Nothing is a game changer in these. Well, not like chinese cars. But they don't sell in North America yet...
@@manuelsevigny6855 you're kidding? They're going to make owning an EV much more affordable and really shake up the car market. Is that not big to you?
@@btfairweather it's a good point... But Tesla was supposed to do it too. Their prices rose by 50% approx. But they sell, so I understand, why would they change? Anyway, I know it will happen someday but like we say in french: qui vivera verra
Run our of paint on that wheel fender
No Fisker Ocean but you list a woefully short ranged subaru and a few junky hyundai and kia’s. Ha ha, i’d rather walk
Especially the plastics and metal we need more recycle
The recycle industry will follow. If there is money in it, it will come. All those minerals are $$$$$.
Give me a 20k electric car then I’m interested lol
1:20 dc fast charging will kill your range 30% in 30 cyccles... same as phone charging fast charge and % display does not mean it will last long.. slow charging is the only way to keep battery lasting .
If we mistake by CEO over productions. We need to change old goods to new goods so that they receive fund. We need government print monies in order the business owners have income and their employees
All of the new EV's whatever brand have recalls for fire. what have you got to say about this?
Two things. First, not all EVs are being recalled for fire risk, just a few highly publicized ones (including my Bolt). Second, in recent years, Hyundia recalled 95,000 ICE (internal combustion engines) vehicles for fire risk, BMW recalled 1,000,000 ICE vehicles for fire risk, GM recalled 1,400,00 ICE vehicles for fire risk, Ford recalled millions of ICE vehicles for fire risk, Dodge Ram recalled 131,000 ICE vehicles for fire risk, etc. What have you got to say about this?
WHAT....no NIO?? Soon...
Was this script read by a computer?
We need the police cameras along the road way more. Because the violation caused accident and crowded and jam.
Much better the solar power than the EV....
We also need to protect environment for future we need to plan the human growth population not exceeding that make life poor then it is difficult to work on life protection because it take war interest between the have and the do not have that most have do not like
Ioniq 5 is NOT COMPACT crossover. 🤦🏻
Our new allies we do not need more cars in their own countries but we need they pack up move together if with cars and also need magnetic rail at home. We make living by hunt by fishing and farming. That the reason we need to protect the environment. That not make species extinction. The products that we make for need every day it is the good and convenient it suppose not to let these business damage environment and farm and waterway.
I might be tempted into buying a hydrogen/hybrid truck/suv. Unfortunately towing a heavy load will absolutely destroy the claimed range, and I don't want to wait hours to recharge...
Volvo XC40. Over 400HP. Just saying. 🤷🏻♂️
Full self driving that's all I want to see the rest doesn't mean anything I can make an electric car
If it's not as long as, or longer than, an exploder like the Sheriff vehicles and Government vehicles it's NOT an SUV.
When taxpayer subsidies are pulled these things will not sell at all....they are not competitive.
Know any good college education on this automotive
Is Toyota hiring Prod Designer from Auto Wrecking yards?! Why are they making the car look like it's in the Body Shop for Fender replacement!? The same bone-head move of the giant Front Grills that now has infected ALL the ICE product line in Toyota and Lexus!
Hey first of all not Subaru Develop the SUV but Toyota and Toyota owns 33% of Subaru
Are there any cool vehicles coming. You know like actual drivers cars rather than station wagon body pickup hybrids? Personally don't like the high center of gravity vehicles. How about a report on the driving machines since you've already done one on me kitchen appliances?
This video says nothing about all of the electric cars and trucks coming from GM...
Get ready for brownouts and cars on fire if the battery technology don't improve or at least battery tech move away from Lithium.
suv, suv, hatchback, suv, suv, mini suv, suv, suv, suv, suv... where are the sedans?
They don't sell enough sadly
Did you read the title of the video you were watching?
Why .. why..why would you do this to yourself. I'm a busy person , I don't have time to sit at a charging station picking my nose waiting for my car to charge , it's a waste of productivity time..... Times money. The anxiety level is high . . I'm tired sitting in these places watching other people driving by looking at me just sitting there. ... The negatives highly out weight the positives then it comes electric vs gas car. ... I've bought my last electric car and I'm glad I got rid of it. ..... No more
We will have them to own the vehicle that they do not have to spend fuel we must use the UFO technologies. That the vehicle it self able to make energy on it own and reserve and power to move.
If these so great why dont they come with a tow bar fitted towing caravans and trailers etc
