One other thing I have found very useful is whenever I buy something I use a permanent marker and put the date on. It gives me ideas on how long I’ve had it and what I may need to replace it. I always keep all the manuals and collapsible organizer.
One thing (well one thing of note) that took my time, energy and money. I put together a plywood/fibreglass dinghy that nests. We enjoyed our trip last year except for the heavy and unwieldy blowup dinghy. Where we moor, we need to have it on deck where there is no room and at 120 pounds it is too heavy anyway. We will see how this dinghy works out this year as each peace is easy for me to handle. There should be room on deck for it when nested too. Just finished adding the hardware... ready to splash when weather permits.
That new arch will be sweet! Lots of great upgrades here. Sean needed to change the impeller on our Honda while here in the Bahamas, and discovered that the wrong size impeller was in the kit. It was in a baggie with the right part number on it, but was definitely the wrong size. Not a happy surprise :( -Louise
LOTS OF GOODIES! And some good stuff too. Love the Cafrano fans. MUCH More dependable and better than the Hella turbos. Lithium start Battery very interesting. Next time you are in the market for an outboard, where you are in the Caribbean, look into a 2stroke. Soooo much lighter and simpler and therefore more dependable than 4’s. Nice dingy. And yes, love hypalon. Amazingly durable. Enjoy.
Another vote for the Caframo fans! They move a lot of air, don't hurt if they hit a body part, and make a nice white noise to drown out bothersome sounds.
Thank you for watching David. I was very unhappy when Defender was sold to the Canadians. It's not the same at all. Even the warehouse is no longer accessible to the public. CUOTO
A new cup holder. Wait, which boat. I have 5. 23’ wakeboarding boat, 30’ pontoon, 8’ 4” addictor speedboat with 30hp, laser sailboat, small sailing cat, and a sunfish. Well that 6. I lost count. Not enough time.
New rigging this year, and a conversion from pyro flares to all LED. Paint and varnish, obviously. oh, plus a whole new bulkhead that had rotted out - from coachroof to keel..:(
Hey Tim! I’m wrist deep in similar projects getting my first boat(2007 hunter 27x). I’m curious to see how you like your mosquito net. Those inflatable casts are a great idea as well. I’ll be sailing the great lakes with sandusky as my home base. With the cooler climate and losing a good deal of weight- I’ve decided to can the idea of running AC anywhere but at dock. A 3.5kw nextgen generator was tempting but $11-13k… nope. For power I bought two 300w jackery power banks. That’ll give me enough juice to heat a meal, run some fans, starlink(if needed), electric blanket etc… they’re all roughly 50 watts so i’m covered overnight. I also have 3 lead acid for the boat’s systems. Then I bought a predator 2000w inverter gas generator for those rare emergency power/ high draw devices etc. CO is scary stuff so I will be using it sparingly and only in daytime hours. My boats too small for a dinghy to be practical so I’m on the hunt for a nice practical rigid kayak along with a second folding or inflatable for guests. My water tank is only 11 gallons so I will likely be installing a 35 gallon poly I have on hand from my aquarium days. Then I will need to add a pressure pump and likely a 11gal water heater. Then I need to buy a 12v refrigerator. New, more efficient lighting New fans(i like the ones you picked) Ipad with gps for navigation New flares New, better and heavier anchor Probably new running rigging all around Lots more I’m probably forgetting 😂
I'm pretty sure you're missing one of those wee round metal thingees that you give to your sailing partner... can't remember what they are called... but offen they have a stone component... popular varieties use gold as the metal and diamond as the stone. They're only small - fits on a finger...
😂😂😂😂 Good call! FYI when installing the remote back at the helm, run a second control wire. I have the remote controlled windless but bought a chain counter, but haven't installed it because running the control cable will be such an "not so fun" job. Thank you very much for watching. CUOTO
Im in NH and selling my 31' Bombay Clipper this year. I also have a couple of deisel engines im going to sell and think im going to do something different this year.
Hello... Captain Tim.... Greetings and Salutations from Andros, Greece from all of us both here in Andros, Greece.... Okay, I understand... You're absolutely planning on the voyage to Andros, Greece to come see us.... I'm just really unbelievably so much tired on sitting on the top of the lighthouse scanning the horizon to get to see you.. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL 😂🤣😭... The case of Ouzo is diminishing as well as the Souvlakis... C'mon Ma'an....!!!!!.... Love, George and Irene Stouraites...
@svpaquita you were in your father's house with polystyrene tiles on the ceiling. They are an acknowledged fire risk. In a fire they drip flames and spread the fire. Here in UK they are banned, I hope it is the same in USA, they are a real and present fire hazard. I suppose it depends on how much you care about your father's life in the sad event of a fire.
I didn't realize how big an Island Packet must be! CUOTO

That's fantastic! Sailing Florence built a nesting dinghy and it went with them around the world. They love it. Thank you for watching. CUOTO
On my IP 420: New black water tank, new generator, tuned rigging, building a chain fall for the anchor chain, and a bunch of maint items.
