    Here we go with one of the classic tunes by Jimi Hendrix - Castles Made Of Sand. Also covered by Red Hot Chili Peppers. The song represents the unique style of Jimi - playing rhythm, melody and chords at the same time, sort of like piano players, but on a GUITAR! Check it out! Peace!

    This is the best tutorial for this song on UA-cam. You take a lot of the frustration out of it by clearly describing the positions and finger placement, something teachers often fail to do and I really appreciate it. I'll check out the rest of your videos after I've got this one down. Thanks!

    God bless you. Jimi improvised. Thank you . He did different phrasing.
    Even though I'msure he laid it down in the studio exactly the way he wanted. The man was a genius.

    It is necessary to transcribe and especially since he does this one backwards. This is why this is so special. I’m writing this before hearing your full clip but if you skip the frontward backwards play then you’ve missed why this is so special

    At 2:55 you seem to suggest there is no third, did you mean high third, technically the B (i.e. G's third) is ringing and in the chord, I agree though these little jimi shapes are hard to name, both sus-2 & add-9 do tell a good story though...

  • @craighemenway7828
    @craighemenway7828 6 років тому

    Great lesson. Assuming this song is in G major key, seems to be what it resolves to mostly. I'm trying to figure out this whole music theory thing more and more. How is it the B flat fits so well if that's actually the minor 3rd of the G chord? Anybody?

      Great Video! Thanks for the tab,it really helped me!
      Hemenway I was wondering that also, and also how does the F fit in the key of G major .... But if you use the penatonic scale the B flat is there and F is too, whether that lets it still be in the key of G im not sure.
