You all look great. Thanks for the video. I want to try this in the Philippines too. If possible, American crayfish in my local rice fields. The ulang, as they are called in the pi, do not seem to be as easily raised domestically.
Thanks again Toon and Leigh. We live in Alaska. My Wife has a field in Buriram Thailand. We are going to build a house there after I retire. I want to build a fish hatchery (probably Tilapia) and some grow out ponds. Lots to learn. 😊
Are they ok with warm water? They often get stressed when the temp is over 26 c . I live in Thailand and own a blue creyfish. I have to locate her tank in an ac room. She likes the water cool.
Greetings from Indiana! Did you figure out why the 50 perished overnight? Did the new tanks have to "cure" over time or something? Seems like the algae grew quick. Wondering if this could be done in a cold weather environment.
Hi Gary, no backup battery mate. It's just a DC setup that only runs during daylight hours. Most of our tanks don't have pumps running, although we are hoping to get more as some tanks are prone to a thin biofilm at times.
Hi guys. Just a quick question, What amount of craylings would you usually stock per 10m x 3m tank and at what size do you place in these new grow out tanks please.
Hi Paul, we actually placed a bamboo table over two of our tanks a while back. Two legs in the tanks & two out. It served two purposes, saving space & creating shade for the crayfsh 😉
When you say waterproof cement do you mean using an additive, coating or the smoothed finish like ours? Interested to hear back from because after using the banana cuttings we don't have any issues. Cheers.
That must be a rough looking old shed mate lol. Anyways, it's made of Inglewud felled from the depths of Fangorn Forest, so it ain't cheap. But because you sponsored our very first goat born here on Porpeang farm, you can have it for free. Buyer collects though 🤣
After watching the video, I discussed siting with my "Location Manager".😊. It's now about 10th on the "to do " list! It takes me back to my childhoid when i used to go hunting native British Crayfish in local streams. Sadly, theyre a dying breed due to the introduction of American Signal Crayfish.
Toon, myself & family did our best at trying to reduce the Signal crayfish numbers in the river Lea. Crazy numbers. Actually, Toon saw a recent Facebook reel of hundreds of Signals escaping in Thailand after flooding. The hunt was on not just for the crayfsh but the breeder, as no one had a license to breed them nearby!
@@TLFarm I'll definitely be siting tanks way above high water levels! Dont want to create any eco disasters like in the the UK streams and rivers. The buggers eat everything and eventually each other when the food runs out. And if I do utilize our small pond, I'll be building a wall around it as you've done. Cheers Leigh.
Hello sir I started my own crayfish farming after watching you video❤ Can you please suggest me a particular sinking pellet for my crayfish? It seems like they dont like the one i bought You're suggestion will be much appreciated ❤
We mainly use chopped up fresh glass shrimp that we catch from our outside ponds. We supplement their feed with a few BetaGrow floating pellets. As long as the water level in your tank isnt too deep the crayfsh can grab them easy enough. The pellets sink after a few hours so they all get fed eventually.
In my country ( the Netherlands ) these crayfish have infested already a big part of the the waterways here . As soon as a have some stuff in order a wil try to catch some of them an breed them and eat them . Because of some weird people that think that only insects and Lab meat is the way to go in time the normal way of getting good protien is gone so a good alternative is necessary . Chickens is ( for now ) possible but they need good feed and how long will that last . So grayfish seems to me a good way to go and like several other things i will already buy some air pumps and hopefully a small solarsystem .
@@TLFarm They are a non native spieces and have been found in many waters . Goverment want them to been catch away by professional vischerman but in my opinion that wont work good enough . The word ''professional'' means that if they catch every grayfisch away they wont make a buck anymore . I think that the common people should get a chance , there are many video's that show how to and every extra catch can be released . Indeed i saw some video's of UK infested rivers and streams , some streams dont have any life in it anymore because the grayfisch eat them all . No natural predator and this is what you get . Thist is also to be very carefull if you have them and breed them in places with no natural predators for the grayfisch .
We get so many emails about importing crayfsh from us in Thailand to them in the Philippines. Are they so expensive there because they're not cheap here?

hello sir im from Philippines , what is the best food for crayfish to grow fast?
We mainly feed them high protein fish pellets & freshly caught glass shrimp (smashed up.)
I noticed that most of your ponds dont have filtrations and just aerators. Is that ok? How often do you do water change?

Do you have a backup battery for the air pump should you have a power outage or is it not a big problem
