I felt in game 4 when Elzaer kept shoving with ling, bane, hydra, he should of got dropperlords. His attacks weren't doing much. Even 16 lings in the main would of been a great distraction to hit the 3rd or 4th of Stats. I feel like to play that style you need chaos. Not just rotating between the same bases.
I wonder why stats is sticking around on immortals vs hydra/ling/bane when grabbing extended thermal lance and making a few colossi would absolutely rip through the Zerg army.
Lowko my boy, you're doing those "likes" references wrong. Surely you can be more efficient than some NA caster. Such as... if I don't get 3k likes, I'll upload a stormgate video instead. Thereby advertising your other channels/content while simultaneously promoting a better insight into what content is most popular and by how much and/or revealing/promoting overlap of content viewership.
He usually casts the top 5 players in the world and he says many times the gap between top 5 and top 20 is huge. for ex losing an oracle for 2 kills is a bfd and the top protoss players wont make that mistake for him to comment on.
I think the hydra, bane, zerglings is great strategy. But I would like to see somebody to play it with sprinkle of roaches. Few roaches could soak damage if you need to retreat hydras, they would be cheaper to max resulting quicker hit waves from zerg. The player would be always in control of how many roaches is he adding, which might add some flexibility based on your current economy. If both players are down to 40-50 probes & drones, you can remax quicker with more roaches and we know the old saying, "more stuff counters less stuff". But if your drones are good, you can easily keep reducing the population of your roaches to 0. I surely might be wrong tho I see Serral pretty much always going some roaches. They seem to be good stepping stone. If you open with +1 both range and melee attack, you can always choose one of the 4 paths, brood lords, ultras, lurkers or bane/hydra/viper and do +2 attack +1 armor next for your specific choice.

a new race would complicate balance too much the devs have talked about this... the original game was designed around the terran campaign vs zerg, protoss vs zerg has its own balance issues as a result... adding a 4th race just ruins everything

@@rumar4u honestly the ignorance and laziness seem to be coming from you... starcraft 2 is THE best balanced RTS game in history with 3 races. To sacrifice that just to appease some casual such as yourself who doesn't even play the game, that would be career suicide! Not to mention financially there's no way they could get a budget to develop that on a dead game. If you want more races go play other RTS games. There are so many reskins of SC2 that you can find one with 12 races.... they have talked about a stacraft 3 with 6 races but it has long been canned and doesn't appear to ever be happning.
Hello Lowko, please can you recommend any other sources of information or videos on how to get into Starcraft 2 multiplayer? I love playing Starcraft 2 but most of the time I spent on campaign and I want to get into 1vs1 multiplayer.
Do you think High Templars need a buff? They require research for their main spell technology. They are the only unit that doesn't have enough energy to cast their main spell as soon as they are produced. They are squishy, have no mobility, and lack DPS. They deal 80 damage in 2.8 seconds, while Ghosts remove 100 shields + 100 energy insta; Infestors deal 25 damage but apply a 75% movement slow, which is essential for the swarm. Feedback has a 10 range, similar to Ghosts/Infestors spells (9 for Vipers), but Templars need to stay back and are too slow to prevent casters from casting, and the no-target nature allows spells to be cast without being feedbacked. They might be less accurate, but given that Protoss units are extremely expensive in gas, High Templars are costly. But the problem is that they can become too strong. what do you think?
Is it me, or do the mid tier pros feel worse than the past? I mean no offense by my post, as they are still quite good and obviously miles beyond the highest I ever achieved (m3 at my peak). I just feel a lot of the mid tier pros just make a lot of mistakes. Or perhaps it's just the top tier pros being better than in the past?
I've noticed it too, having watched sc2 up to 2019-20, and watching it again this past month. But i think its an ilusion, caused because they have to try to up their game to compete against players like serral, maru, clem and maxpax. They have to play faster and take more risks, cut more corners, try to multitask more, etc. I remember a Stephano interview in 2017/18, when he was just one of the pack of b tier euro zergs like lambo and elazer, and had some good moments especially vs protoss, but would lose any high level zvz. In the interview he said his present self was so much better than his 2013 self, where he dominated the non-koreans and did well against top koreans, that it would be no competition if both versions had to play together. And the diference was the speed of the game, how much more he had to do to compete in the present then, that it went beyond his comfort level where he could play without mistakes.

The games balance is actually not that great, Lowko. Get some guys like clem and maxpax, younger players with aggressive playstyles to play zerg, and the game would be dominated by the swarm. Zerg has the simplest and yet, toughest win conditions. Control the map, get to late game, out mine the opponent by one base, win. It happens time and time again with Serral. In reality, he's just simplified those conditions which is why he's such a strong player. Teach that to a younger crowd as I said, and we'd see a massive shift in the game state.
Ah yes, as brilliant as Lowko suggesting you simply out-micro and out-macro your opponent simultaneously and you will win more games. Protoss has 2 fairly reliable openings. Terran can 3M and 2 of those units guaranteed scale to late game, so any "overinvestment" isn't an issue. Both also have more reliable vision of what enemy is doing early game - while zerg must rely more on inference. Zerg also needs to adjust their plays and more often their response to their opponents. While terran and protoss can fend off similar aggression more efficiently and without having to commit to dead-end tech like roach/ravager or mediocre baneling. Meaning, the balance is such that if protoss and terran don't mess up massively compared to zerg, they efficiently reach late game. And unlike the past, there's no zerg army that can stand toe-to-toe to terran or protoss death ball. So they're forced to split them up. But it's late game with most resources mined, so trading zerg army for enemy eco doesn't mean shit. Meaning, zerg has to split up army vs enemy who can just roll through everything you have while trading away small bits to stall out zerg splitpush distractions. Serral is the only one who can reliably do this vs the highest level.

I get the same feeling, when I see Loki host a game of these "pros", I feel like I am watching a highschool football game, and not the NFL.
