SF BAY AREA HALIBUT Fishing from the bank on a Dropshot Teaser/Swimbait Jig Rig-October 2022

- Quick afterwork session, hunting Halibut from the bank. Given the rocky, slippery conditions and no net or gaff....I managed to Hookup on 3, but land only 2(one of which, is my Personal Best)
Rod: Abu Garcia Vendetta 7'0" Medium casting rod
Reel: Piscifun "Torrent"
Line: Spiderwire 8 strand 50lb. test braid
Leader: Trilene Sensation Copolymer 14lb. test
Dropshot Hook: Owner Size 2 Live Bait circle hook
Jighead: VMC "Mooneye" 3/8 oz(3/0 hook)
Teaser(for dropshot hook): Zoom Baby Fluke "pearl"
Swimbait(for Jighead): 3.8" Keitech "Sight Flash" - Спорт

Thank you...and thanks for watching. Yes, it's CRAZY how quick they bite on that set-up. Everytime i go for Halibut, I always end up out fishing guys that use swimbaits and live bait by using my Dropshot Teaser/swimbait combo technique. IT JUST WORKS!!!😁

What size weight did you use on the teaser?
No weight...dropshot hook only. 3/8 ounce jighead at the bottom.
How much between each swim bait/fluke estimate?

To answer your question....I keep it between 12"-18" apart. No more, No less!
Nice fish. What weight line do you use ?
Mainline 30-50 lb braid works best. The leader is 25lb. PLine Flouroclear.

No problem sir, i find it best to use a strong line to avoid break offs, and shake offs. Just out of curiosity, what line are you working with?
