As a woman, I think the more males play this, and genuinely enjoy it, and not just playing for hype, while making fun out of it, the better life will be for all of us. Just as we are starting to enjoy competitive, an shooting games more, even tho they have a more "masculine" vibe. You can enjoy a more calm and cute side of life, and start to understand why woman do like this kind of stuff too. Not even gonna bring the fact that this can help A LOT with toxic masculinity. I always think is very beautiful seeing man playing this kind of games, and GENUINELY enjoying the gameplay, bcs i feel understood and validated
Tbh, I play most of the games with a female character because it has better outfit option compared to male. Developers tend to make the male outfit look bland & less variety. The choice of hairstyle is also a lot on female too. I'll still play as a male character if it fits the situation of the game or if I just wanna self insert myself a bit. The only thing that stops me from playing either a male or female character is their attitude.
I suspect I am a male of similar age to you, Pesky, (evident by how many golden-age Simpsons references I understand) and I spent over half my life worrying about what other people thought of me, (especially other boys). I reached the point a few years ago where I just decided to stop generating my own anxiety over what other people may or may not think of me and my choices. In the immortal words of one of humanity's greatest sages, "Haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate... I Shake it off! I Shake it off! (hoo hoo hoo)"
Started playing IN day one. Been playing Genshin for 4 years and the two games are similar in a number of ways. Males are ok playing female Characters in other games, why not this one?
real. men worry about what their male peers would think of them, almost as if they're on a communal male to male relationship. "male streamer testing infinity nikki" always kept yapping about "idk if i should play this" like, dude just wear the dress and shoot that wind ball, it's not that serious.
it's so heart warming seeing all the guys that are playing this game, it kind of feels indicative that we as a society are starting to accept peoples individual self expression. Dress up games are fun, I think it's sad that a lot of guys haven't had the opportunity to experiment with them until now, but it's never too late to have fun with pretty clothes!!! :D
would love to see some more of you playing Nikki! its been a bit of an eye opener for me, only on my side is finally having a gatcha game that's a real "game" - collect, explore, hoard, solve, fight, battle with your fashion; it's kind of got it all in a very pretty, very forgiving package. i am done for the moment with serious grimdark games and this has been SUCH a breath of fresh air.
I really relate to Mimi’s depression over not having his little pillow. I even bring my pillow with me on vacations and find it impossible to sleep well without it. Poor sapient cat stuffed animal.
Hiya, just watched your video. Was such a nice warm experience. Just wanna drop a lil advice from someone who's been playing too, you can just tap left click to fire the purification shots, no need to hold it down unless it helps you with aiming. Makes if feel snappier. Hope it helps :) Have a wonderful day.
I loved watching your video and enjoyed your chill, casual vibe. I could seriously watch a whole playthrough if you ever did one! I'm so happy to see more and more men giving this game a try. It's as you said: men are conditioned to suppress certain interests and emotions for fear of being judged or accused of being 'gay' or 'feminine', but the truth is that we need to stop associating softness, whimsy, and cuteness as inherently female and for a 'female audience'. Men are allowed these things - and if they were, a lot of the frustrations they feel in themselves and others in today's world would be soothed, in my opinion. Men deserve to play cozy and cute games, and it does not diminish your masculinity - in fact, nothing screams more confidence than a man who does not fear how they are perceived when partaking in these things, because the truth is most of them DO wish to partake in them but fear rejection! Most men I know, including my own brother, LOVE to play as female characters because of the more imaginative and different designs. And a lot of men simply don't care what they play as. Unfortunately, a lot of men see games like Infinity Nikki and immediately judge it at face value. Myself being AFAB (though I identify as agender), I've always had a bit more 'masculine' leaning interests, and unfortunately, women are also held to certain standards even when it comes to gaming: men play dark souls, women play animal crossing. In fact, I almost did not play Infinity Nikki because although I'm not immune to cuteness by any means, dress-up games don't really interest me and I cringe at anything super feminine. Imagine my surprise playing Infinity Nikki anyway, and ending up LOVING it to bits thanks to its world design, music, stress-free gameplay, and the focus on pure whimsy. There are plot points in this game thus far that have surprised me, especially after thinking this game would have a very shallow storyline. To my surprise, it is by and large one of the most polished free to play games I've played - minus the bugs it is ridden with atm. I hope you and many other men can continue enjoying Nikki, realizing that to play these kinds of games are no loss of masculinity at all, but the freedom to simply step out of the box, have fun and explore a new perspective... AND to be Miraland's best girlboss.
I wanted to play this game for a while but then I saw that my pc doesn't have the memory for it 😭 I already play Love Nikki tho, which is an older 2D game of the same franchise (or series, whatever it's called). I think one of the main appeals of this game is the dressing up in any outfit you want (there'll also be competitions against other players so that's also an exciting thing to look forward to). A balance that isn't thought about often is the masc-fem energetic balance - everyone has a certain level of both and they vary between every individual. It's also very natural to be curious about the opposite gender, and I would encourage exploring that curiosity to help one understand about the world and oneself, and Infinity Nikki is a great game to explore the wonders and beauties of femininity. It's great :D Doom for masculinity (or Skyrim/Eldring if you want open-world exploration).
Often when you can play a female character I always pick it cause they always get the cutest outfits, meanwhile the male ones are so boring, unless the cloths are more of a "lack of cloths"

So true they would also better understand us women and they wouldn’t be so judgmental or mean
Real, cultured man.
Indeed 😂.

And there’s a system you’ll unlock that can upgrade and change the purification shots. Including a speed boost!
You seem so emotionally intelligent and it's so refreshing! I would love to see you play more of this!
I loved this game! It's very cozy 😊
It's promise of being 'the coziest open world game' was what got me interested initially.
Well i want to play this now
