    Good info. I’ve got a 1999 Suzuki Maurader that’s been sitting for a couple of years. This is very useful for me. Thanks. 👍

    10:20 Your The Man!! Thank you a million!! I have been watching videos for days, looking up pdf files, because I rebuilt my carbs and ended up with a two small washers and a small O-ring left. The bike started but flooded fast. Other videos talked about the small O-ring, but nobody ever talked about or had the small washers. Thanks again.

      As a Certified tech I can tell you that if your not left with a few extra screws and bolts after putting it all back together then your not doing it right 😂. Work on cars and happens so many times but hey if nothing's leaking and there's no tic's then it was just extra incase we needed them

    Great video! I have a much older Vstar which it seems in the area I live in, nobody wants to work on it. Thanks for the info and clear instruction. I'll be tackling it soon and now I feel much more confident. 👍

    I live in Germany and recently had my XVS 1100 Dragstar classic (European version of the V.Star) in the shop because live the bike in the video I had let it sit for a few years and the gas turned to slop. I had the bike towed there in order not to gunk up the fuel system with the old gas. The shop supposedly overhauled the carbs, adjusted the valves and installed a new peacock. When I picked up the bike it seemed to run pretty good, not great but good. But gradually the bike started having issues and it got to the point ( after only 600 kilometers) that I needed to drive with the choke on all the time. Long story short, i brought the bike back and explained what was happening and they told me that I was to blame because i only drove 600 kilometers in 3 months and that would cause the fuel system to gunk up again. They ended up cranking up the idle and SOLD me a can of fuel additive and told me to come back after i pushed a tank of fuel with the additive through the system. The bike still isn't running great. I would appreciate any thoughts , opinions or advice on what is going on. Thanks.

    How much it's cost to clean carburetor

    The two items with wire connectors are not sensors, they are carb heators they are very delicate and very low torque . they will break if over torqued About $35.00 each.

    I want to clean my carbs with a sonic cleaner did you remove the throttle position sensor before putting in the sonic cleaner ?

  • @guilima1202
    @guilima1202 2 роки тому +1

    On the removal of that sensor you had to use the 10mm socket, what brand of socket did you use? None of mine 10mm, including a supposedly thin wall socket, fit in the gap between the sensor body/nut and the outside of that pilot screw cavity. I will need to get a different thin wall socket. I tried both 6- and 12-point sockets.

    great video, I wish you would have showed the process for the sonic cleaning. Did you hang the carb, submerge it? What about the solenoids? Any reply or link to the process would be appreciated. My Vstar is 2002 1100.

    Are there any o rings or something where those fuel cut off solenoid sensors thread into the bowls? I seem to have a small amount of fuel dripping from there it looks like.

      There should be a copper washer on them to seal them.

    Have a question from my Yamaha service manual about vacuum pressure at idle speed, this is noted 34.7-37.3 kpa on page 3-9.
    It also notes that the difference between the two carbs should not exceed 1.33 kpa.
    I am a bit confused about how the difference is worked out, could you please let me know about this as I will be cleaning the carbs on my 03 V-Star 1100 as the bike has not been started for 3yrs.
    Along with this the full tank of gas that it has will be drained, fuel filter will be replaced, full brake flush front & rear, & a oil/filter change.

      what you are referring to is known as carb sync. there are a few different types of gauges that can be used to measure sync. I did not cover that in this video.

      Thank you for the info but in my Yamaha service manual there is a note on page 3-9 referring about the vacuum pressure at idle speed that the difference between the two carbs should not exceed 1.33kpa (10 mmHg).
      Could you please let me know what this means when I would have a vacuum gauge attached to the engine.
      Thank you.

    you cleaned the carbs and didn't flush the fuel tank...Wtf
    also why the fuck wasn't that ultrasonically cleaned

    • @brazinBrett
      @brazinBrett  Рік тому +1

      I did drain and flush the tank when I originally cleaned the carbs. Turned out the customer used a bulk fuel tank on their farm to fill the bike and their bulk tank was contaminated.
      Ultrasonic cleaning is nice if you have a large enough tank to do them, but it’s not required if you do them right manually.
