I always spawn SPAA as my second tank to destroy CAS before they ruin my team. As soon as I spawn, I rush near the biggest group from my team and hit the planes before or after their dive. They usually don't expect an SPAA in the middle of the map. Although, I only shot when the plane is nearby to remain stealthy.
@@jiggythibs This is the way. Hanging back at spawn is not useful for the team unless you're getting curb stomped and the only targets the enemy CAS can find is at your spawn.

Watching some of your older vids and today's I was reminded of something. Back when I had friends to play WT we had 4 rules. 1) Never trust your teammates, they will always find a way to let you down, even friends in your squad 2) Never ask "how am I still alive", the snail will retaliate. 3) Don't question gaijin, questioning the snail gives bad luck. 4) Being mad about uptiers only brings more uptiers. Just try new (or really dumb) things when uptiered because it'll be more fun.
Uptiers aren't even bad. You get to spawn vehicles with less spawn points than usual. Positioning is king. As a WT player you must learn to hold that fire and not expose yourself when you know you have no chance to deal damage to the enemy, or exposing yourself might get you in trouble. I can't even count the times when I didn't instantly use a juicy sideshot because I knew that the person had one or two more tanks behind him that could pulverize me in retalliation if I had taken hose shots.
A few weeks ago I had a match where my teammate heli rushed with the Ka-50 and then spawned an Su-25, top scoring the match in ground RB with no ground vehicles, you love to see it.
Reminds me of a match with a 3 man squadron of Yak-3s, where all of them were in the air the whole match topscoring and carrying. Mcloving being one shot in my tanks and SPAA

You feel that way because that’s how it works, at best you have 1 50. to try and fight back with, but no you will die to CAS and there’s nothing you can do about it, even if you want to play AA it’s a far better use of your time to get in a fighter plane
There's also the part where if SPAA had an easier time shooting planes than the opposite (they don't except maybe at top BR) the planes always have the advantage of dictating when combat takes place. SPAA can't shoot CAS unless the planes decide to move into range, which they should only do if they have the advantage.

In the WT forum or REddit you read a lot that you just have to play anti air to fight cas. But this is just a good example how good cas is against ground anti air.

And it doesn't hope that spa ground fire feels so weak nowadays. Like either it instantly cuts off the tail of an aircraft or it just tickles them knowing between no consistency. It's either one or the other and you don't know what you're going to get until you fire the first shot and land a hit.
If you’re gonna be an awful person, I know exactly what plane you should do next. Introducing the AV-8B(NA), a new premium that’s basically the AV-8B+ but 0.7 BR lower in GRB with the exact same bomb loadouts! I’ve had a few games in it and it’s downright disgusting. It’s also the same BR as a certain light tank: it’s survivable, light, and a test bed. Alternatively, you can be an even worse person by using the XM800T to farm assists and scouts to hop into it. This is day 2 of my request.
Speaking of Italian vehicles, try the Fiat/Ansaldo M11/39. It has everything low tier Italy has to offer. Bad armor, bad speed. The 37mm gun has APHE, but its casemated. Best of luck. That or try the P40. Decent Italian medium with 75mm HEAT rounds. (attempt 22)

I'd technically more specifically recommend having any kind of anti ground ordinance become significantly more expensive SP cost wise to use, particularly on fighters since those can very reliably defend themselves when compared to bombers.
SPAAs should be able to restock ammo easier. I don't like having to uncap a point in a Ystervark to deal with the CAS problem that made my team lose the point in the first place.
Yak-9K test reports say the plane is getting damaged by the recoil and firing must be limited to 1-3 round bursts. In IL-2 wing gondolas it was instantly found unusuable. I don't think they ever tested the gun on air with any of those prototype twin engine planes.
Hey spooks you should try doing a wt bingo; Make a board with things like "nuke" and if you get a nuke you check that off, or like "killed by cas" and if you die to cas you check that untill you get a bingo (you can pick any vehicle)
Not only does the 45 mm NS-45 now have APHE... But Gaijin has also subtly been buffing the its accuracy over time. 1 year ago you couldn't fire a 2 round burst because your second shot would aim for the moon even though you're looking at the ground. Now you can fire a 7 round burst and have almost all the rounds hit your target, even in something like the Yak-9K Together with the new APHE rounds, this makes the NS-45 a stupidly powerful for CAS.

Spookston takes to the air, causes chaos. I spawn in a plane, immediately two interceptors are on my arse and the enemy light up the air with SPAA likes it's the 4th of July.
I count my blessings that Spookston and I apparently have polar opposite sleep schedules, because I've been playing in this exact BR range almost every day and I was somehow spared being a part of any of these nightmare matches. Not a single SU-8 or TIS MA blighted the skies of my matches, and knowing now what I was blissfully unaware of then I offer prayers of thanks to the Insomnissiah
I still honestly believe it would be best to just remove air vehicles from a gamemode that is called "GROUND" battles, you can still have a 3rd gamemode that allows for both, but when i enter ground rb i expect a ground battle with ground vehicles.

Interestingly with the British 4000lb bomb, aside from being inaccurate, it also required being at an altitude of 1800 meters to drop without being wrecked from the blast. Meanwhile I'm seeing Pe-8 drop their second and third bombing runs at less altitude with no draw backs. Edit: fix actual altitude needed to safely drop British cookie bomb, aka 4000lb bomb.

@@thegreenbolt2819 yak-3 from top of my head is atleast a 5.3 prop but is at 4.3 Its a small target with the acceleration of an f8f, energy retention of a corsair, manueverability of a spitfire, the flight and damage models are busted beyond edp going for a cupcake, the thing will outturn you with half an elevator and fly back to base with only one wing and shvaks absolutely hit like a truck with laser beam firerate Only weakness it has is the low ammo, just so they dont completely sweep everything Its a late war prop ffs
its really funny how even russian aircraft APHE is absolutely superiour to anyone elses. These round have almost as much pen, especially at 30° as the german 57mm rounds, which fire much slower and cost more RP and deal less damage. Its not like these planes did not already shred everything they met, now they do even more
The extra funny part is, that this APHE round is most likely made-up. It has exact same filler amount as 45mm tank gun APHE, but the shell is 1.1kg instead of 1.4kg. Physics? It does not make any sense to build rounds like that. So far every source I have checked mentioned only HEF and APCR, so where did this APHE round come from?
@@Teh0X It's rather typical for soviets to scrape the insides of the shell for lower pressure rated cannons. One of the industry cornerstones was using "luxury" items in the most ubiquitous way possible. The amount of diamonds thrown into cheapest cutting instruments is insane. It still leaves it's footprint in the industry, you can get 5-PACKS of russian modelling diamond files for like $2.50.
@@flipallthetables793 ok...there is so much wrong with what you said. Firstly, APHEBC rounds do not have "blunt" noses they just have less agressive angles on their nose. Secondly, russia gets modifiers on APHE and APHEBC rounds Thirdly, there is no "subclassing" for aircraft belt rounds in the game, so we can not actually know without looking at the exact modifier applied to the round. For all we know it could use an HE round modifier or an APDSFS one. Ther german 57mm gun also uses two types of APHE round, one is APCBC the other APHE, both are called AP in the game.
The Russian actually made an ASU-76, with a 76mm gun, but was too heavy for its intended role, so they scraped it. Could be an interesting addition to the game.
To be honest...I play Enlisted, where the AA is so overtuned a single 20mm hit will delete most planes AND you get a leading indicator AND the AA emplacement render range is so low you cannot see it from the ground AND often you can damage the planes just with infantry guns enough to cause a leak (which you cannot repair)....and there are tons of matches where I get to do CAS the whole time without a single bullet being fired at me and people still go on the forums and cry
Id say you have to try this very forgotten tank, its the fv4202, armed with a very specific caliber gun (84.3mm), it also has a very high pen APDS shell for its caliber and is looking very modern even though it isn't quite modern (day 23)
It's modern looking because the FV4202 was an early prototype for the Chieftain. I really liked the 4202 but it's at a weird BR with no lineup, so you'll just end up using it at 7.7 most of the time.
@@rydersherm2490 Yeah, that's certainly how I played it originally, and the matchmaking is definitely more favorable I'd agree. The 7.7 British lineup is one of my favourite lineups in the entire game, so it's just preference to bring it there if I use it.

It's always fun watching your reactions to the CAS hole (sorry for you), and overall just watching how you play. It always manages to make me laugh whenever I see you pull an absolute devious one on some poor M22, or annihilate a top tier tank with a terrible round. I second this, that SPG is great. Although its round should ahve more penetration, since according to account from Italian tests its AP shell could easly penetrate upper front plate of T-34.

Yaks at low alts are crazy and then you have the space Yaks.
Corsair is very good at low alt actually (compared to other us and german planes) but yes, yak is definitely more maneuverable
USA seemed to love to design tungsten anvils with wings. Their planes are decent as long as you have the altitude to keep falling down lol

Not only does the 45 mm NS-45 now have APHE... But Gaijin has also subtly been buffing the its accuracy over time.
1 year ago you couldn't fire a 2 round burst because your second shot would aim for the moon even though you're looking at the ground. Now you can fire a 7 round burst and have almost all the rounds hit your target, even in something like the Yak-9K
Together with the new APHE rounds, this makes the NS-45 a stupidly powerful for CAS.

Spookston takes to the air, causes chaos. I spawn in a plane, immediately two interceptors are on my arse and the enemy light up the air with SPAA likes it's the 4th of July.
I count my blessings that Spookston and I apparently have polar opposite sleep schedules, because I've been playing in this exact BR range almost every day and I was somehow spared being a part of any of these nightmare matches. Not a single SU-8 or TIS MA blighted the skies of my matches, and knowing now what I was blissfully unaware of then I offer prayers of thanks to the Insomnissiah
I still honestly believe it would be best to just remove air vehicles from a gamemode that is called "GROUND" battles, you can still have a 3rd gamemode that allows for both, but when i enter ground rb i expect a ground battle with ground vehicles.

@@2KDrop the duck is hard to shoot with, and every shot shakes the plane in a detrimental way. It's hard to aim, and I feel like doesn't kill well either. You just make them swiss cheese

Especially when the Pe-8 already dominates GRB. I hate how I can see 4 of them in a match, and good luck shooting them down with SPAA when they're already 2km high.
Interestingly with the British 4000lb bomb, aside from being inaccurate, it also required being at an altitude of 1800 meters to drop without being wrecked from the blast. Meanwhile I'm seeing Pe-8 drop their second and third bombing runs at less altitude with no draw backs.
Edit: fix actual altitude needed to safely drop British cookie bomb, aka 4000lb bomb.

Its a small target with the acceleration of an f8f, energy retention of a corsair, manueverability of a spitfire, the flight and damage models are busted beyond edp going for a cupcake, the thing will outturn you with half an elevator and fly back to base with only one wing and shvaks absolutely hit like a truck with laser beam firerate
Only weakness it has is the low ammo, just so they dont completely sweep everything

its really funny how even russian aircraft APHE is absolutely superiour to anyone elses. These round have almost as much pen, especially at 30° as the german 57mm rounds, which fire much slower and cost more RP and deal less damage.
Its not like these planes did not already shred everything they met, now they do even more
The extra funny part is, that this APHE round is most likely made-up. It has exact same filler amount as 45mm tank gun APHE, but the shell is 1.1kg instead of 1.4kg. Physics? It does not make any sense to build rounds like that. So far every source I have checked mentioned only HEF and APCR, so where did this APHE round come from?

@@Teh0X It's rather typical for soviets to scrape the insides of the shell for lower pressure rated cannons.
One of the industry cornerstones was using "luxury" items in the most ubiquitous way possible. The amount of diamonds thrown into cheapest cutting instruments is insane. It still leaves it's footprint in the industry, you can get 5-PACKS of russian modelling diamond files for like $2.50.
These rounds have no special slope performance. They are not APHEBC rounds with blunt nose.

Firstly, APHEBC rounds do not have "blunt" noses they just have less agressive angles on their nose.
Secondly, russia gets modifiers on APHE and APHEBC rounds
Thirdly, there is no "subclassing" for aircraft belt rounds in the game, so we can not actually know without looking at the exact modifier applied to the round. For all we know it could use an HE round modifier or an APDSFS one. Ther german 57mm gun also uses two types of APHE round, one is APCBC the other APHE, both are called AP in the game.

The Russian actually made an ASU-76, with a 76mm gun, but was too heavy for its intended role, so they scraped it. Could be an interesting addition to the game.

To be honest...I play Enlisted, where the AA is so overtuned a single 20mm hit will delete most planes AND you get a leading indicator AND the AA emplacement render range is so low you cannot see it from the ground AND often you can damage the planes just with infantry guns enough to cause a leak (which you cannot repair)....and there are tons of matches where I get to do CAS the whole time without a single bullet being fired at me and people still go on the forums and cry

Id say you have to try this very forgotten tank, its the fv4202, armed with a very specific caliber gun (84.3mm), it also has a very high pen APDS shell for its caliber and is looking very modern even though it isn't quite modern (day 23)
It's modern looking because the FV4202 was an early prototype for the Chieftain.
I really liked the 4202 but it's at a weird BR with no lineup, so you'll just end up using it at 7.7 most of the time.

@@rydersherm2490 Yeah, that's certainly how I played it originally, and the matchmaking is definitely more favorable I'd agree. The 7.7 British lineup is one of my favourite lineups in the entire game, so it's just preference to bring it there if I use it.

this just shows how much skill issue CAS users really have. so bad on the ground that they get one kill or a cap, then just refuse to play on the ground anymore because they know how bad they are. the true skill issue. its like going to a hotdog eating contest and bringing cocktail sausages cause they cant win any other way lol
