    The blue of the Moonset tee looks great on you! I say frog the project (since you don’t like it) and reuse the yarn by alternating skeins the whole time

    Highly endorse frogging and reclaiming the yarn for the items you’re not loving! It’s so satisfying!

      Definitely considering it for the moon set tee!

    FINALLY! Someone who can give an honest review of how wearable a knitted garment can be! I live in SE Tennessee and haven't ever been tempted to knit anything for summer just because I mostly live in tshirts. (Yay for being mostly retired) I am finishing up a Ranunculus in Uru pima cotton right now which I MIGHT be able to stand in a freezing restaurant or the ice cream aisle of the grocery store. But I cannot wait to try some merino/silk for another one. As far as frogging the one(s) you don't love...YES, do it! You will not be sorry. Wish you were here and I'd do it for you! I just found you last week. Love your show.

      Haha I love the offer to frog my top for me 😆 yeah I was super impressed with the merino/silk blend! I definitely need to try more silk blends!

    As others have said, frog it! I recently frogged a sweater I'd set aside for a few months because I was hating the fit. I'm using a different patter and loving it now! It felt very freeing to finally frog it for something I will get more wear out of.

    Thanks for this reflection video of your knitted tops.
    I definitely think you should frog an item if its not working for you. Reuse that yarn into something you love!
    That pink top looks so good on you. 💜

    I actually think the moon set tee looks really nice on you! But if it's not making you happy I vote to frog it :)

    Leslie!! I just love love loved this video so much. The teacher in me wants to make a rubric about all the things you spoke about lol. Also, I totally love your favorite spring sweaters too. The cottage core and ranunculus look SO AMAZING.

    I related a lot to your thoughts on the color choices you’ve made and I actually have been thinking about that a lot!
    When I started knitting I did not understand the difference between loving a color for things and for clothes, so over time I bought loots of gorgeous variegated, multicolored, or very bright colored skeins, but then I realized I never actually knit them because I don’t see myself wearing those colors.. I love bright colors in things (my water bottle, my phone and kindle, my flip flops and my favorite project bag are all bright yellow); however, I usually prefer to wear more neutral colors, so now I have skeins that are beautiful on my shelf as objects but I know I won’t knit simply because I don’t want to invest all this time knitting something I’ll never wear. So I just figured some of them will become socks and others I’ll just destash 😢 but now that I understand that I’m more conscious when buying yarn so it’s ok 😂
    Also, have you considered dyeing your Thea top? I just tried dyeing a beige yarn with avocado pits and got a really nice pink, maybe by doing you’ll get a color that you’ll find yourself reaching out for more 😊

      Yes 🙌 those are exactly the kind of thoughts I’ve been having lately and why I keep coming back to doing these audits on my knits and my yarn stash. It can be a hard realization that what’s in your stash isn’t what you actually want to wear, but it’s also kind of fun to start putting that new mindset into practice when shopping for future SQs. I have thought about dying the Thea Top, I guess I just need to pluck up the courage to do it haha

    Hi, my first time seeing you, like the video and info also your presentation is very natural and comfortable I enjoyed watching. I hope you dye the nude color top (as a pale white person it's not a good look for me either) I like that it is bra friendly but a slightly narrower strap would be nice, I did like this top and blue one too

    50/50 silk and wool is definitely my favorite warm weather yarn. Have you thought about dying the Thea top since the big problem is the color?

    Thank you for a very informative video. I’m looking at my first summer tee and our countries temperatures seem similar (I live in Perth West Australia) so no wool in my summer tee and I think the ranunculus went to the top of my list.

    haveeeee you considered overdyeing the tops you dont wear cause of the color? I would be worried to mess it up, but it's not really a loss if you don't wear it anyway!

    • @knitcalifornia
      @knitcalifornia  Рік тому

      I have considered dying the Thea Top! I think since it’s white/beige it would dye easily

  • @blood_lad
    @blood_lad Рік тому

    honestly if the thea top isn't the right color, I would just dye it a color you like better! i definitely think the color it is now brings out too much of the redness in your skin. maybe doing the tea dying method would work?

    • @knitcalifornia
      @knitcalifornia  Рік тому

      I have thought about dying it with avocados! Or some natural dyes that I have from an old we are knitters kit… we’ll see! It’s a good idea though!

    I still like your moon set tee but I think it’s the color. If it doesn’t work for you - if you frog i think another shirt would look nice. I think the color looks great on you! But if you make a hat I have the same color for an Oslo hat

    • @knitcalifornia
      @knitcalifornia  Рік тому +1

      I love the color too! I just don’t like the striping effect! I’ll have to find something else to do with the yarn ♥️♥️♥️

    Actually, I think the hot pink top looks exactly right for you, it's very flattering. Maybe you're more used to wearing bigger sizes but in my opinion that top is exactly your size and looks beautiful on you. The same goes for your Moon Set Tee!!
