Hello fellow woodworkers! Let me know if you have any feedback on how to insulate around my new electrical or other ideas for the shop. Have a positive day!

Thanks for the feedback. I am always trying new things to engage with my audience. Some times they are home runs and sometimes I strike out swinging:) Onwards and upwards.

Enjoyed the series, as for electric, because your workshop is basically in a building that is not modified, it is a simple fix, to move plugs up, down, sideways, and the like. As you stated in previous video, you'll get to it, this is the best time to see how you feel with regard to workflow as it relates to tool/machine positioning. Most guys/Gals I know who do installation, love these kind of projects, because it is a blank slate, Looking forward to seeing other videos. And yes I subbed.

Winnie, my thought on your lighting is that a coat or two of white paint on your cement walls would make a world of difference. However, if your going to insulate that would be the last step. The adventure continues! Thanks for Sharing!

Yes ALWAYS ALWAYS insulate before ANYTHING else. Cause now you know what problems you will have to go thru. When I got my new shop, I put everything in the middle and had to do one wall at a time then move all the machines 3 or 4 times until I finished the insulation. Then I surface mounted all my electrical on the surface of the new walls. Ron USCG RET

Your shop is looking great. I wish I had that much space🤗 even though the garage doors got in the way of your planned lighting... Them being insulated will come in handy👍

Yes I sure hope so too, anything to keep the heat in the shop.

Insulation? No problem! It doesn't get that cold in the Niagara region. * eyeroll * Seriously, it will not be an easy task to do it properly at this stage. My recommendation would be some good heaters, and a dehumidifier in case of moisture problems.

😂😭😂 you are probably correct. Good thing I invested in heated re-chargeable socks this last winter 🧦

Wearing a dust mask when drilling concrete. The dust is very bad for the lungs. And I agree white color on walls ceiling would brighten things. And could frame and insulate walls and might be able to use electrical box extensions and flush mount plugs switches ect. Would have to check with electrical code in your area.

maybe some kind of panel you can mount on the wall for insulation?

The shop is looking good! I am not sure about insulation for your walls, were you thinking about building them out, adding installation then building another wall, or just doing spray insulation? I would most likely get some advice from an expert on options before you put too much more money and time in. I know up there where you live it gets really cold so you are going to want to have the walls insulated.

Honestly Cliff I have no idea. As long as the solution is a warm workable shop I think I’ll be good. But open to learning about any and all possible solutions.

@@standishwoodstory I think Closed cell foam might be the way to go but I don't know the R value you would need up there. I would have a professional come out and look at it.
