If I may offer a simple trick for lining up the rope..Use a Bread tie wrap to feed thru the hole, then twisted around the rope end nice and tight, then simply pull the wire bread tie and the rope will get pulled the opening...simple electrical trick we used to pull wire trhough tight areas.
Like the guy before me, I am amazed at how you diagnose and repair small engines. I am also impressed with your little red corvette.
Once upon a time, I was smitten with them. My wife was kind enough to let me experience 2, ‘69 silver convertible, black vinyl hard top, and side pipes, 427-390 4 spd and ‘73 silver coupe L48, 327-300, 4 spd. Now what I am asking about. I have a StihlBG55 blower, . Slot 9 or 10 yrs old. Myself and 3 neighbors have rode it hard primarily during leaf season. This past fall, ignition module failed. When I went to replace it, wouldn’t line up with flywheel. Slot for mounting screw, part of the head had a crack which broke off. Dealer said it would cost more than it was worth to repair. I found a head unit on EBay, took 4 bolts from bottom off and replaced broken part of the head. Have I wasted my time or will this work? Maybe I’m hard headed, I just hate to throw stuff away. Your videos
Inspire me to try to repair rather than replace. I apologize for the length
I know this is 2 years old... however, I wanted to say thanks. I did this once... incorrectly. I never did figure out why my rope was always hanging down after I let it back in until I found this video. I've never been a small engine guy until I purchased my house and didn't want to pay someone else when that money could go toward other projects.
Now I have a longer, properly installed pull rope.
Thank you for explaining things easy. I had a stroke 40 years ago. My right arm is almost non-existent. I've has this mower for 20 years and it's been a good reliable mower so easy to do. Again, thank you.
I love it when a mower at auction has a broken pull rope. Usually that was the camel that broke their straw back. Frequent that is the only thing majorly wrong with that mower. Same thing with a trash picked mower. Oil will be tar; air filter will be full of dandelion fur, blade will be dull, but the broken pull rope will be the final factor that caused it to be discarded. Easy fix, easy flip.
That happened to me…lol. The blade got bent when it hit a tree root so after purchasing a new blade (online because nobody around here had that blade) I had a really hard time getting the old one off. Then I finally found someone strong enough to help with that issue but when I went to start my mower the rope broke.
I said, “oh just forget it” 😩 , put the mower out by the road, came into the house and ordered a new mower from Amazon.
I still laugh when I think about whoever picked up that “free” mower looking underneath and finding a new blade on it!
Last week my brother put a new carburetor on my mower but when I went to start it it seems the engine zone control cable was no good but instead of saying “oh just forget it” I hopped on UA-cam, found Chickanic’s video on replacing the cable and violà…I’m now a subscriber!!
Even a vid from 2 years ago can help to give a guy some reassurance that he is doing things correctly. THANK YOU for saving me time, money AND frustration!!
I don't know if you saved me time and money yet... BUT... I do feel like you most certainly will have once I fix what I need to!!!!
Thank you for making the video and sharing it with all of us here on UA-cam!!
One of the best videos available. Clear and concise. Thank you.
Clear and accurate step-by-step instructions. Most other UA-cam videos never explain how many counterclockwise turns of the pulley are needed before holding the wheel and inserting the rope and having some slack is OK. Thank you so much.
very helpful thanks alot have a good week
I have an Ariens snowblower I’ve used the electric start on for years, as the pull start had snapped off. I’m totally going to fix the pull after seeing this super, straight-forward video! Thank you!!!!
Definitely one of the best pull rope repair videos. Thank you.
Thank you for explaining things clearly and simply. Most other vloggers assume you know lots and skip things or talk so quickly it is hard to keep up. Blessings.
Thank you for the complete pull rope ass'y number. I bought the new Honda HRN216VKAA mower this year. I'm almost 66 years old and the self- propelled mower so far is a dream.
This is brilliant! Very well explained and I thinks really good that your giving out part numbers for a couple of the major brands!!! Many thanks
Thank you for posting this video. Avoided me throwing my power washer through a wall :)
Great instructions - watched this and due to the provided instruction was able to replace the pull cord in 30 minutes.
I've always done it differently. Your way is much easier. Thank you!!
Your a real pleasure to listen to, you speak properly with perfect diction! Here in U.K. people speak so poorly what l call lazy slovenly! Drive me mad it's not difficult to speak well/properly, worse is people on t.v. that don't speak properly all there doing is teaching younger population to speak badly! An forever shouting @tv or utube @people that are lazy speech! Thank you so much your a great lady pleasure to listen to watch!🤗🤩

So I have old (1982) work horse tractor got it for helping a neighbor in Fl. it had set for years, had a Briggs 10.5 had very little compression, id put some mineral oil in and it would run for a bit, the clutch was super expensive. Swapped out the BnS10 with a Honda 13hp I had sittin around. Put a double sheave pulley on it and damn that tractor came alive, I sold the deck for 350 bucks! I have it up here in Arkansas now its definitely a work horse use it everyday. Bought a cheap pull start assy on amazon lasted 5 starts. I just use a rope on it starts every time but I think I saw a pull starter somewhere. good video.
Thank you for explaining everything so well.

I love that Echo shirt! I have a LOT of Echo equipment. A CS 501p saw, a 2511t saw, a 2620t trimmer, and a 2620 blower. I just recently replaced my whole fleet of 20 year old Echo equipment that still worked but was well worn. Awesome stuff!
Those are all great pieces of equipment. That 2511T is SO AWESOME!
Amazing video. You are a super smart lady.

The Lawn Mower Lady is Brilliant as well as Chickanic
@@jonlambshead5115 Agreed,. The Lawnmower Lady's video helped me installed a new carburetor on our mower yesterday. The ladies you mentioned are really good resources for free on UA-cam that people should give it a try.
Simp
Funny. I checked out your channel about seven days ago and saw that your last video was posted a year ago. I thought that was it. Then I decided to go back and check again. Lo and behold you're back! I'm so excited. Thanks for taking the time to post these videos. I subscribed.
