- American blues guitar legend Joe Bonamassa was in Cork this morning for the announcement of two very special Rory Gallagher tribute shows that he will perform Live At The Marquee in 2025 on July 1st and 2nd.
Also in attendance at the press conference held in The Oliver Plunkett in Cork city were Donal and Daniel Gallagher (Rory's brother and nephew), Gallagher's long-time bassist Gerry McEvoy and Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions.

Joe recorded Cradle Rock on his first solo release, A New Day Yesterday. He has been a Rory fan a long time. Wish Joe would play more of this style of blues/rock.
Good on Joe for doing a much deserved & belated tribute to the great man, Rory Gallagher. Although much is made of Gallagher's guitar prowess & unbelievably energetic live shows, not enough recognition or praise is given to his brilliant songwriting talents. Gallagher was a master songwriter & any blues rock band on Earth would do well to cover any number of Rory Gallagher's classic offerings.
Would love to see Gerry and Brendan playing with Joe at the gig in Cork. Rory's engine room with Joe, mouth watering prospect.
just got my tickets today. It's on my birthday too.
Beautiful tribute to Rory
Great share Niall ...no better man than Joe for the Marquee 2025
Brilliant the hunt for tickets is on this will be epic
Hot as hell as Rory would want it to be. 🎸🔥
Thanks for keeping the fire burning!
First time I heard of Joe and this song was him opening for BB King in tolido ohio through silver jubilee Marshall's and it was life changing thank you J.B.
Toledo ohio spelling is hard😂❤
Joe sounds like Waren Haynes , great energy .🇮🇪

Well done Joe, a great tribute. Looks like he’s using an AC30 too, so doing it properly. Class act.

Joe's here to buy Rorys guitar🤔
He said he wasn't going to buy it & that the guitar should remain in Ireland, but that guitar needs to be played as Rory would have wanted & if his brother feels it's time to sell it & one of Rory's Teles please let it be Joe or someone that will play them hot as fire & the way Rory would have wanted to be played. 🎸
@paullevine1813 Joe said absolutely not did that guitar deserves to stay in Ireland
Joe has got "enough" guitars...and some good Strats too....
It's to.
