Hello, Your video helped me a lot. I use the same machine and I'm very happy with it. I'm looking for a spare part for the machine and can't find a supplier. It's about the adjustment bar 6-27 in the parts list. Do you know a dealer where I can order in the shop? NB. I live in Switzerland. Greetings, Walter
Hi. I think you are referring to the "Y" Table Gib. Which the manual refers to as Sliding Plate. If it is broken, you can set it up on the flat side & bronze weld it together, machine or file it flat, & check for straightness. You might have to machine & make a new one. Or you might find a second hand one from a machine that has been dismantled for parts. The Gib is tapered on one side, so when the screws are turned in, the slack is adjusted out. Let me know what you do. Ted
Hi Ted, Thanks for the quick reply. You're right, it's this plate "Wedge Strip" Are you sure about the material bronze? I would have said brass. Well, I'll try to get a new part first - otherwise I'll try to make it myself on a different milling machine. Greetings Walter
Nice work Ted. i really have to chuckle in that this is practically the same exact machine that I have except mine was sold by Harbor Freight under their Central Machinery brand. Grizzly also sells this same exact machine in their color and brand name. I remember the Rong Fu brand back in the 90's but haven't seen it since. Something my machine has that I've never seen anywhere else is that it has a quill feed which is great when boring a hole with a boeing head.
Thanks for your comments. They are the same as far as I know, just depends on when & what companies purchased the mills, & what the later models & accessories came with. Votages etc depended on the countries that purchased them . Some also came out with resersable motors.
Hey Ted I’ve just done the same to my machine and as I was putting it back together I realised I couldn’t remember which way the Y axis leadscrew nut faced. I thought to myself oh it should face the column so that you can get to the adjusting screw, but when I checked the manual it said it should face the other way. Any thoughts?
G'day Leon, Thanks for your comments. The adjustment nut on the Y axis should generally face to the rear column because when you move the Y towards the front, you are able to adjust the slack in the nut. +++ That’s how mine was from Brand New
@@freestyla101 If you tried to go from the front, you would find the vice etc would be in the way, + there isn't an access hole from the front as is from the rear section
@@TedRoza- yes towards the front, I gained 2 full inches. And that's with mounting DRO and cut off switch for the power feed. And then I extended the Y handle thru the chip tray.

Thanks for commenting. Did you have excess Micro Qill wheel backlash
Also did you come across a correct size Klingon Batlef as used by Worf ?

@@TedRoza yeah I thought the same. It’s the rong fu manual that shows it facing the front of the mill. Strange but I agree with you.

@@TedRoza yeah true. Where did you get your precision ground stones? I’ve got a few dings on my table that need flattening.
@leonidude With the stones, it depens what location your in Myself I'm in Perth Australia
Well, looking at the bottom part, it starts to look like a mill again :)
Thanks Rusty, now all we have to do is line up all the little men with the Tramming etc, & hope we don't have to strip to much down
tear down
Gday & thanks for your comment .
It's time to extended the slot in the casting and you will get more Y travel.
Thanks for your suggestion. I am getting full travel right up to the round column, unless your talking towards the front ?

@Mark Dion Thanks will check out to see to see if it will warrant extension
Thanks for the pics, they look great. The sheild similar to mine
