Years ago I worked a Tina Turner concert once and when she ran off the stage for a quick wardrobe change I was in the wrong place at the wrong time backstage. To avoid Ms. Turner I jumped out of the way and went right off the stage. She stopped and yelled out: "Baby are you alright?" I smiled, gave her two thumbs up and said: "I'm good Ms. Turner and thanks for asking." After the show she walked up to me and once again asked me if I was alright. I was. Tina Turner is one very talented lady and really sweet too. God Bless her.
I saw her perform in a little club before her big come back, and she blew the place away!!! I said to my friend she should be performing in stadiums. Her energy was soooooooooo intense. I remember feeling like I was being blown against my chair by a force of nature. People applauded for like a half hour after she was off the stage in some kind of hypnotic trance she put us in.
I had the privilige to see her perform on her last tour in 2009 @ the Gelredome in Holland where the tour was being taped.. She blew me of my feet at 69 years old..a force of nature indeed and hands down the most mindboggling concert I ever went to. But dear Lord, I would give my left hand to have been able to see her at the end of the 70's :)
I saw her in Perth, Australia on the last night of her comeback tour. After who knows how many shows right around the world, her last show was on Christmas Eve and she PARTIED ! The show went 1.5 hours overtime, ended when she ran out of songs, she even rocked Christmas carols !

Growing up in California I saw Ike and Tina many, many times. They were always absolutely thrilling. I have also seen her as a solo act a number of times and she never disappointed me. A wonderful, wonderful performer - I am so pleased she got the recognition she deserved in later years. I feel extremely lucky to have experienced her concerts so many times. Simply an amazing woman.

Have been a fan of Tina for about half a century now. Saw her on tv as a kid, which immediately made me think, "SHE IS A SUPERSTAR!" Got to see her in concert decades later and she didn't disappoint. She earned every penny she ever made by working her butt off and putting on the best show in the biz. The best line in this video was when she said she was "just getting started." It was 1982, before she was about to have the biggest comeback in rock history. She manifested that statement and blew everyone away. She is a legend and one of the greatest talents to ever grace a stage. For the youngsters out there, this is how a singer sings and dances vs. lipsyncing and dancing.

What a LADY, I remember way back in 72 I got great tickets to the Newport Jazz Festival and had just listen to the closing act which was Herbie Mann and I thought I had die and gone to heaven and as we were all standing up applauding his encore and getting ready to leave, the announcer said please wait that there was going to be one more act, almost as though it was a kind of an apology, and that this was going to be some kind of Rock-N-Roll not Jazz and right away everyone began booing, he then announced the act was Ike and Tina Turner and you guess it “Proud Mary”. I have never seen or ever will see again a more power, more energy, more fun, more vibration, and more insanity of the audience then that night, that night will live in my memory till the day I die, thank you for taking the time and reading this. Have been a fan of Tina for about half a century now. Saw her on tv as a kid, which immediately made me think, "SHE IS A SUPERSTAR!" Got to see her in concert decades later and she didn't disappoint. She earned every penny she ever made by working her butt off and putting on the best show in the biz. The best line in this video was when she said she was "just getting started." It was 1982, before she was about to have the biggest comeback in rock history. She manifested that statement and blew everyone away. She is a legend and one of the greatest talents to ever grace a stage. For the youngsters out there, this is how a singer sings and dances vs. lipsyncing and dancing.

What a LADY, I remember way back in 72 I got great tickets to the Newport Jazz Festival and had just listen to the closing act which was Herbie Mann and I thought I had die and gone to heaven and as we were all standing up applauding his encore and getting ready to leave, the announcer said please wait that there was going to be one more act, almost as though it was a kind of an apology, and that this was going to be some kind of Rock-N-Roll not Jazz and right away everyone began booing, he then announced the act was Ike and Tina Turner and you guess it “Proud Mary”.
I have never seen or ever will see again a more power, more energy, more fun, more vibration, and more insanity of the audience then that night, that night will live in my memory till the day I die, thank you for taking the time and reading this. Bob
