Adam, you briefly said something about Coach Rhule’s clock management before the half, but neglected to mention an inexplicable officiating error that cost the Huskers clock time. Dowdell on 2nd down runs for what is clearly a first down, by a good yard-and-a-half. The side judge is seen marching toward the football in line with Dowdell’s forward progress. I need to go back and see if the officials moved the ball back, or didn’t reset the chains. No clock stoppage for the 1st down. Nebraska realizes that the clock wasn’t stopped and uses their last TO. They get a first down, but lost time because of the officials, not because of Rhule. 1. I was proud to be Husker Nation 2. I haven’t been among those calling for Satterfield to be fired, but I’m warming to the idea. Too much dink and dunk, not enough use of Fidone. Not enough downfield passes-even if Raiola’s time was limited, there should’ve been time for crossing patterns and stop-and-go patterns. 3. I feel better. I have a little hope that we can win 1 maybe two games. Satterfield’s play calling is “D”. An example is fourth and goal and everybody in the stadium knew we’re going run it up the middle. That would be a good place for a quarterback option and the quarterback keep or pass action to Fidone. Our o line rarely moves the defensive line backward.

One does not need to be patient with the OC! His two year history of play calling is all we need to know about his potential! Last year the excuse was we really didn’t have a QB. This year we have a strong arm QB that can make all the throws but he insists on sideways throws!!
Satterfield has to go, or honestly I am going to start questioning Rhule as the HC. I mean come on, when we hired Scatterfield from South Carolina or wherever... When their fans are thanking the Husker's for hiring him lmao 🤣😂 that should tell you everything!
Last week there were questions that we wouldn’t win another game all year, now I think(if satterfield is fired or changes his game plan) we can win out
Man the 3/3 field goals shocked me, every kick I closed my eyes. I was upset with the play calling, screens, neyor and banks. We have to figure out this offense we could have won 2 games
Throw the ball deep and into the boundary 5-25 yards out on 1st down then run halfback dives and screens OFF of that.Great show Huskers so glad to see you battle like this.
Adam, I would like your honest opinion on what you think about Satt’s playing calling, not only this game but since the first of the year! Today, how many bubble screens or sideways passes did we throw? I wished I had a chart of the bubble or screen pass plays and the resulting yardage? It can’t be good! The last series, we had to go what, 40 plus yds for a winning score and we throw a delay screen in the middle where all the big bodies and traffic are and then we throw another sideways pass for another loss! I think it’s called a forward pass, why do we, with a strong arm QB keep throwing sideways? Please give me your opinion as I really liked your offensive chalk board after last weeks game!!
Defense was good, we have a field goal kicker, great. We have 4 downs to score and we run up the middle 3 times and outside once, we telegraphed the last run so hard with #9 in there and that was the wrong call for that distance when they knew exactly what we were going to do. Good time for a play action run/pass option with Dylan or HH, we gave away our chances, we just can't execute when it matters most just too often. 2 wide open receivers Dylan misses, we just can't get it right, open guys, gotta hit them. Dylan is our guy, appreciate your comments about him. Dylan will be great one day, he is a warrior. We know he can hit guys when they are wide open but he struggles with that while making other unreal throws when guys are covered. Go figure, GBR!
Dylan has regressed because Satt sucks so much and has complicated everything on offense. Also want to take a look at Thomas cause he’s our QB coach. Is he also part of the reason why Raiola is regressing or is our offensive playbook that complicated that Raiola is just overthinking.
Rhule lost to a ranked team. I am stunned. But next week after we beat UCLA by 4 points, they will probably throw a parade down O-Street with win number 6!
Husker play calling in the red zone is horrible! First and goal from the seven and they run two plays right up the middle! Come on, the world was expecting that! The gain momentum and then seem to lay down.
Adam, I think you were spot on regarding our team and how they stepped up today and really played all out football. We have a great bunch of young players and our coaches will bring this team together. GBR
What a wonderful thing after last week to watch the Huskers scare the h e double toothpicks out of the Buckeye fans! We really should put Harberg in the game when we get inside the 10 and need to pound the ball. His threat to run the ball makes a huge difference in those situations. Our play calling is woefully substandard.
Today everyone learned what this team is truly capable of when we play 4-quarters and the result was nearly a win on the road against a top 5 opponent! After last week I doubted we’d win more than one more game, but if we finish the season playing like we did today, I can’t imagine losing more than one. Competing with the elite is what we showed everyone today!
No panic this season. Freshman leader at QB? Yes!🤩 Predictable offensive play calling? Yes... 😞An offense that can keep the other teams offense on the sidelines for large swaths of time? Yes! 😄 Head down, keep building.
GBR!! So close!! The crazy part is we had two chances to make a field goal that they went for it instead. That would have been the difference of the entire game if we just grabbed the easy points. When your field goal kicker is on fire you kick the field goals when you have to. He literally probably would have won us the game.
Had A TON of opportunities to put this game away on offense, both terrible play calling on offense and a couple missed passes, but our defense is legit. I'm upset that we could've had the best upset of the season but Im glad we kept them as close as we did!
I love the heart and the way the blackshirts played and bounced back, but the offensive play calling was horrible, especially on the last drive. Why would you throw 2 screen passes just awful, but hay, we My found a kicker if the snap is good
I was really down and didn’t really believe in Rhule anymore after we lost by 50 to a team we out recruit. I expected us to lose by 60+ to Ohio St but they did respond in one of the most difficult games possible, at Ohio State coming off a bye week and a loss. I still think there needs to be some change to the staff this offseason but I am impressed Rhule kept the wheels on the wagon after last week.
Huge improvement over last week so cudos to NU for that. Yet, this game was NU's to be had and they didn't get it done. I though Satt's play calling was substandard and inconsistent. With better play calling (despite horrible refs) NU wins this thing. Raiola had some bad misses. He needs to get better and I believe he will. Play great and win next week against UCLA and we've got a whole new season and can flush the IU game down the toilet.
Adam, three plays, the spot when clearly over first down. The non pass interference call, (actually there were at least three), the non-call on the water bottles/Ryan Day throughing the headset. Those non-erroneous calls cost us the game. That being said, the spirit, the grit was great. Now, in order to win, you need to setup the mindset. Now, should be ready to finish the season.
We lost. That hurts. Last week is inexcusable. This week im proud of our effort. I dont care care if youre playing an nfl team. NEVER QUIT. You earned my respect today.
It is already difficult playing a team like OSU in their house...and refs didnt lose the game for them but having the refs steal from your team in such critical moments really makes it an order of magnitude more difficult to get the victory.
Proud of our team, players and some coaches today! They came in and played with a chip on their shoulder and it was evident, that's exactly what I wanted
It's time to drink the Kool-Aid. We are going bowling. After Colorado, the next 4 games are my favorites: The two California teams and our two rivals from when we had divisions.
Overall better game but I am starting to sour on Raiola; four turnovers last game and one this game. Would like to see Haarberg more. He is a better runner and gives them options. Raiola is too slow and he missed two wide open receivers today.
Special teams are improved. Especially in the field goal game. Heart worthy the Huskers are on track for a team thats in year two. We are going bowling this year GBR!!!
Trust me, I try to get it up ASAP. It’s hard though, for example, today I had 21 pages of notes. We’ll keep working to try to get it out sooner though. Thanks.
Finally Finally We get a competitive winnable game against a legitimate Ohio State since I can remember! Nebraska is moving in the right direction. Great Game Team!
I think the difference this week was it looked like we showed up to play. Did I think we would win today not really but I think a lot of that comes from knowing that we are playing a top 5 offense, defense and NIL Roster. I think if we executed just a bit better offensively we would have won. I have seen A lot of people cramping on the announcers being excited about Nebraska making field goals. Considering how bad Kicking has been, I have been treating those kicks like touchdowns.
Nah, i don't think you understand Indiana team made up of 17 players that portaled from Madison. A Madison team that was damn good. Next year Indiana will not be so good
I guarantee you, when we were 4th and one or two in front of their goal, if we had an innovative OC, if Raiola would have faked the ball into Dowdell’s stomach and rolled to the left, TD!! I saw Peyton Manning do that a couple of times in his career!!
I saw a young group of players make some young-player mistakes. There is no panic, just the next game. This is a much improved team that has to learn how to be a champion. They can win when they put their hearts into it. If this team, which finally played a full game, comes for the next 4 games, we aren't losing. I'm not going to disrespect Ohio State by saying they aren't top 5, but they are definitely good and can hang with anyone. Parity is here, who wants it more.
I expected a loss, going into today, and when we had the lead after completing a 2point conv. I was thinking, the tide has turned and we may actually pull off this upset. Even amidst some horrid officiating, 2 OPIs that shouldve either gone the other way, or just not been called a pi at all definitely did not help us. That first field goal turned the game around for us, that was the motivator in my opinion, as you said, we havent had a field goal completion in over a month, and Hall comes out and splits the uprights 3 times in a row for us? Talk about hype, our special teams came out and completed where our offense couldnt. Our defense did way better today than they did last week. As a unit we performed better today than we did the past 3 games(imo) regardless of the loss. We gave the 4th ranked team a run for their money and kept them on their toes, and we played the full 4 quarters from the bit of the game that i saw. Today, we looked like a team that could win the next 4 games with minimal issues. I still think maybe we go 8-4, 7-5 is more realistic, but 9-3 is doable based off of how we performed against an opponent that shouldve swept us under the rug today. Proud to be a husker fan GBR and TTB
Thank you Adam Carriker! This one hurt, but they played proud. If we play with this heart the rest of the year, Neb could win out. Will they? I hope so.
The rereferring needs to be addressed on a global scale. We need accountability. Schools need to be able to fine the conference if they miss a call that was also reviewed and potentially changed the outcome of the game. It's not on the coach to gamble with their three timeouts. A referee misses a first down spot by TWO YARDS? I've never seen that in my life. If Nebraska wins this game, that affects recruiting, that affects post season (Playoffs/bowls), that affects school attendance. The power these people have to determine the outcome of games MUST have accountability. I'm not saying that as a Nebraska fan, I'm saying that as a college football fan. There have been at least 5 or 6 games this year involving the top 5 teams where a botched call cost a team a touchdown which either would have changed outcome of the game on its face or at the very least affected the momentum.
Great show! Offensive line needs improvement. If Raiola has time to set himself he is outstanding. Nebraska needs Rahmir Johnson back. He catches the ball well and has the jets. Haharburg should be used as a running back sometimes because he is big and punishing. He is a threat to throw the ball. I would have used him today. Rule is being to conservative. Lighten up coach, play like you did early season. Home game next week against UCLA open the can of pork and beans. Thanks for the hard work. GO BIG RED!
Yes on one. The second question i have mixed feelings on it looked like he made some adjustments but definitely too many screens. The third question absolutely yes i can't wait to see how we play in the next 4!!! GBR THROW THE BONES!!!!!!
So glad everyone on the comments has given up and proud of losing. Nebraska supposedly has the best facilities, training table, and coaches that are paid millions. Yet we as fans are satisfied with losing a close game. FREAKING PATHETIC, RIDICULOUS AND AN ABSOLUTE LOSER MENTALITY!!! These coaches are soft, players are soft and I think these fancy facilities have made everyone at this football program soft.
The only place we are old is both lines...well and the rest of the defense. I'm ready for some of this SPEED we've supposedly been recruiting to replace them. We shall see how good development has gone.
The Indiana game might have woken the team up, a lot of hype and expectations pre season, in season. On the road, have to be happy with the effort, taking care of the ball. Something to bulid on.
I feel like these gut reactions would be better without all the stats. Hit the key stats and give your insights. Just feel like turning it off every time you start rattling off stats. Just y opinion that doesn’t matter. By the way. Love that you provide Husker content.
Overall they played better than last weekend!! But, we need to improve the red zone play. Offense isn’t playing up to par with the rest of the team. We have to score to win.
Satterfield has to be gone! No one could have thought we had a chance tow in with the ball and under 3 minutes left! we all knew it would be a turnover or a 3 and put
Look man...pluses on the field goal kicking. We played a top 5 team down to the wire. I don't know what to say about Satterfield and the bubble screens. He sees what we got every day and I don't. I only played at the high school level in the 80s. All I know about screens and draws is you call em when teams blitz too much.......or in Nebraska's case when your O Line leaks like a sieve. I don't think he has any choice. We don't have any athletes on our o line.......just a bunch o fat asses with slow feet.
I gotta say I’m not a real x and o knowledgeable kinda guy but we played a good enough game offensively to win. I do think a little wildcat from time to time with Harberg would when not expected would be cool But if we’d have caught two passes we’d be dancing right now. I think he calls screens cause our O line isn’t made for full time prime time YET. Im proud of our team considering Vegas had us losing by 20 something.
This loss seems no different than a Scott frost loss. This game in many ways was like the Scott frost era. New coach new coordinators new players. Yet the Same result of having a chance to beat a good/great team but falling just short due to a variety of very fixable factors. It’s like living in a fever dream or being on an episode of the twilight zone. A very curated form of hell lol

Imagine Dylan made thise passes in the Illinois and Ohio State game, could be a different record. Throw the bones.
Could Rhule have challenged the spot of the ball when the refs robbed us of our 1st down? If so, any thoughts on why he didn't?
Well, he has said his eyes are not the best. I am thinking he needs to get glasses; there is no reason not to see where the ball gets spotted.
Win, lose, or tie, Huskers till I die!
That is why I'm here on social media and drinking the Kool-aid
Nebraska needs to get as far away from this conference as it did Texas.
D was on point today, was so nervous about field goals but Nebraska didn’t leave any of those on the field today, was glad to see such improvement
Satterfield needs to go after this season, but 8-4 or 9-3 is still possible. Go Big Red!
Respect would’ve been earned with a win. Make it 27 losses in a row against ranked opponents. Tired of the moral victories over the last decade.
Feel better but hope they will keep up with this performance today for the rest of the season... No more Jekyll & Hyde team
A freaking 10 year old could have done a bootleg left touchdown for the huskers today
Anyone can get knocked down, it is in getting up that makes for courage.
Indiana will win the big ten. They brought practically the whole team from Madison. Continuity
If you’re harping on non calls on coaches (having nothing to do with play) then you’ve already lost.
We lost. That hurts. Last week is inexcusable. This week im proud of our effort. I dont care care if youre playing an nfl team. NEVER QUIT. You earned my respect today.
I am feeling better about getting bowl eligible, but Satterfield NEEDS to GO
Not a fan of the offensive play calling. Loved the pride!
Yes, terrible play calling, yes I see hope except for Satt
It is already difficult playing a team like OSU in their house...and refs didnt lose the game for them but having the refs steal from your team in such critical moments really makes it an order of magnitude more difficult to get the victory.
Proud of our team, players and some coaches today! They came in and played with a chip on their shoulder and it was evident, that's exactly what I wanted
It's time to drink the Kool-Aid. We are going bowling.
After Colorado, the next 4 games are my favorites: The two California teams and our two rivals from when we had divisions.
I see hope for the rest of the year.
Satterfield's play calling too erratic and still no true identity
Nebraska made Indiana look even better by its close score against OSU today. So, thanks for that from a Hoosier!!
Satterfield, wr, and special teams coach need to go
They kicked a couple of FG's, but special teams was a dumpster fire again.
I love your show I do wish it would be posted sooner
I’m just eager to hear from you and what your listeners have to say. Great show keep it up
Trust me, I try to get it up ASAP. It’s hard though, for example, today I had 21 pages of notes. We’ll keep working to try to get it out sooner though. Thanks.
@@carrikerchronicles90 I love your take more than any other. I’ll be patient. Thank you for responding.
Next year Indiana will not be so good
I miss your live show on Facebook on Sunday night
I guarantee you, when we were 4th and one or two in front of their goal, if we had an innovative OC, if Raiola would have faked the ball into Dowdell’s stomach and rolled to the left, TD!! I saw Peyton Manning do that a couple of times in his career!!
That would take foresight and preparation. Not Satterfield's strengths. Let's just throw a screen pass and hope for an unlikely block.
Defense looked like they were on a mission after the embarrassment last week. And running backs were out to run through people and had some big runs.
I posted on fb that they left their special teams in Lincoln early on in the game, I was happy to be proven wrong.
GO BIG RED!
2 missed wide open receivers, y his could easily have been a w.
Would you agree screen pass is nothing more than a run. I think Satterfield is considering it as a running game.
Good for NU. Glad it was an incredible fight.
The only place we are old is both lines...well and the rest of the defense. I'm ready for some of this SPEED we've supposedly been recruiting to replace them. We shall see how good development has gone.
I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL FOR THE SAME REASONS!!!!
The Indiana game might have woken the team up, a lot of hype and expectations pre season, in season. On the road, have to be happy with the effort, taking care of the ball. Something to bulid on.
Somebody needs to get fired
Nebraska should still go back to the big 12
I am SO FED UP with how many screens will call! They don’t work!!!
I gotta say I’m not a real x and o knowledgeable kinda guy but we played a good enough game offensively to win. I do think a little wildcat from time to time with Harberg would when not expected would be cool
But if we’d have caught two passes we’d be dancing right now.
