- Just comparing some ince sliding t handle wrenches just to show how a simple tool can have a surprising number of variations on design and construction.
Proto, Walden, Armstrong, Craftsman, Duro-Chrome, MasterCraft, Plomb, Giller, Thorsen, Bonney
I have the exact same craftsman from years ago, still going strong!
I love the 1/4 T handle, still looking for a WRIGHT in good condition to go with my general purpose 1/4 set.
They don't currently make one though.
I have 2 70's V code Craftsmans and they're a great tool, the V code stamp designates Moore drop forging and Easco as the manufacturer.
PLOMB ( not Plumb as in Fayette R Plumb the Axe manufacturer) changed its name to PROTO in the 40's because they had a few lawsuits going back to the 20's with Plumb over their similar sounding name and just didn't want to worry anymore.
Thanks Catus , I Don't Own A 1/4" T Handle But Have An Old 1/2" One I've Had For A Long Time . Like It .
Very nice!
T-handle concept is great, it gives you excellent centralized force, and you have good feel with them. I use my 1/4 inch Snap On breaker bar extensively for certain task where I run the fastener down with my index/mid finger then torque it to finger spec : ) and the Snap On 1/4 block is tighter than the shiny chrome Proto breaker I have. Cheers, like listening to you
Those bearings aren't detents? If it's there to allow removal of the handle it would make sense that some of them only have it on one end.
They do not move. They do not have springs behind them.
Giller was a military contract brand during the Vietnam era.
Can you review a bench vise? That would be interesting.
I did one on a french sombre and Meuse Vise a while back
@@CatusMaximus just watched it. Solid video/review.
T-handles kind of went the way of the spinner handle, didn't they?
I have been thing about getting 1/2 t bar
yeah i got a 3/8 tbar to use with crowfoot set.
$10 at harbor freight to get your toes wet
Nice to see others with similar problems. Lol.
😁
Too Small for motor cycle Handle 1/2 is Best Choice..
Never used one. Seems obsolete.
