  • This bit ratchet kit is made for the bicycling community, but it is a very good option for those that wish to carry a bit ratchet as part of their EDC. It has one unique feature in particular that make this one of my favorites of those I have tested so far.

    I bought the kit in the soft case after watching this video. Used it tonight while working on a power tool, and it was outstanding. I like passing the extension through as far as it will go just for the extra control when ratcheting. A very nice tool set. $40 well spent.

    Damn, i already have a Wera Tool Check Plus, which includes the Wera Xyclop but i really love the versatility of this particular tool, particularly that extra potential reach could really come in useful. Looks like a great tool.

    I’ve had a Topeak Ratchet Rocket Lite for a few years. It doesn’t have the T-handle capability and only has 52 teeth, but comes with a case, 11 bits, a standard bit extender and tire tools for about $30 (although I paid less than $20 at the time). I’ve been happy with it for my needs. I keep a Burktek pocket wrench in the case instead of the tire tool.

    I have the Harbor Freight Icon bit set that uses this exact same ratchet. Love it to death! SO well thought out

    The T grip is best to prevent over-tightening. Great design. I have 2.

    The hard case link you provided seems to be a torq wrench version, though for bikes that is a useful tool

    Got the similar ratchet with extender from Toptul (CHEV0811+FTDF0810, only this ratchet has a flexible head). Great companion for the Victorinox L-wrench in my small tool set.

      @@diezelle57 Yeah, I know that it's a copy, but it's pretty decent copy for a reasonable price. It's like a copy of Leatherman Crunch from one of your reviews - I've bought one and happy with it :)

      @@diezelle57 Can't argue with you about quality, cause in Ukraine, where I live, we have dozens of Toptul's resellers, and I didn't found at least one Facom's reseller. And ordering via eBay usually make price not very interesting.

      @@diezelle57 You're right about that. But it works only after you have a quality tool in your hands. Before you bought it the price affects your decision. In few cases your channel helped me to make the right choice. Thank you!

    Thanks for the video. Have you tried the Topeak Ratchet Rocket? Currently considering these 2 for an EDC tool kit.

    Hi,
    I’m constantly “refining” the tool set I carry in my backpack. I recently moved away from Wave+ to Free P2, but I’m still carrying the Leatherman bit kit and bit extension. Do you know of a bit extender that isn’t flattened in one end like Leatherman’s is, but that still fits Leatherman’s flattened bits in the other end? By my measurement the socket needs to be about 18mm deep (0.7inches).

    Sorry for being a little late to the party. Does it wirk well with other bits (ie. Dewalt, makita, milwaukee impact bits) or just the bits with the little cut outs like it comes with

    • @txtoolcrib
      @txtoolcrib  3 роки тому

      It will, though they are not as secure in this particular ratchet. However, many of the bits out there incorporate those notches.

    I've kinda wanted one of these for a while, but I just have no real need for one. If anyone's interested: this exact same ratchet is sold under other brands as well. The Topeak Ratchet Rocket is from another bicycle oriented company that has a couple options for different kits, though the extension included with some doesn't seem as nice. There's also one sold by O'Reilly Auto Parts under their in house brand Power Torque (UPC # 700305643154) that's only $15, but it doesn't have any extension in the kit it comes with.

  • @TylerSnyder305
    @TylerSnyder305 3 роки тому

    You can get a version of this same tool from O'riley's auto parts for $14 under the GM power torque brand.
    Half the price, comes with a lifetime warranty, nice hard case, and you get a 1/4 square adapter as well as 5 or 6 bits.
    The only difference between the tool is that it doesn't have the T handle feature, a feature that I don't think is worth the extra $15 anyways.
    I would also bet that the bits and case...ect are equal or greater in value to this extension, they're just charging a premium to people who can afford expensive high end bicycles.

    • @johnhenningsen5203
      @johnhenningsen5203 2 роки тому

      The Power Torque ratchet is 3.5" in length versus 4.5" for the Prestacycle. Also the latter has a special beveled extension that can pass through to form a T-handle. You CANNOT buy this extension and do the same with either the Topeak or Powertorque variants.

      I said " version of this same tool "
      And " you don't get the T handle feature "
      All of these " Reverse gear " bit ratchets are made in Taiwan by HI-FIVE .
      from the topeak style to the Vim box wrench style and the FACOM flex heads, I can think of 30 different versions of the HI-FIVE " reverse gear " bit ratchet off the top of my head.
      If someone does a bit of searching I am sure they will find their ideal version.
